India should never rely on NATO and lose ally like Russia because Russia has always sticked to us at the times of low .

Plans for NATO membership were shelved by Ukraine following the 2010 presidential election in which Viktor Yanukovych, who preferred to keep the country closer to Russia, was elected President. So Ukraine is not nato member.

According to me we should try to avoid answering the question of joining NATO plus because China definitely do not want us to join them as we can see the chance in their attitude after this offer in recent article of new parliament as they are praising us and warning us about west . So we should take advantage of this situation and put pressure on them to avoid conflict and solve issue . And of course at the end when we have to answer them about joining we should diplomatically say NO .
