Safer, yes. Faster, yes. Better product, probably (depending on the crew). But, I'm a carpenter because I love building. Assembly by number is not carpentry. Carpenters today aren't as skilled as past carpenters and this upstream process is only ensuring that carpenters tomorrow aren't as skilled as today. More devaluation of skilled labor in the name of production. I appreciate the innovation of this company and understand the need for businesses to stay competitive, but I have deep reservations about the direction technology and process improvement are taking us.
I've taken my 28 oz Estwing across the country building houses. Kept it in my ruck while jumping out of planes and on deployments to Afghanistan. It is literally my most valued possession. I don't believe I could habe developed that sort of passion building houses with this process.

Is this a real company? I thought it was a joke from the first few videos I saw. If it is I like the fact they can joke around about themselves.

Do you ever coordinate electrical, HVAC, sprinkler, and plumbing runs with the other trades to the point where you can gang drill them prior to installing?

We do coordinate mechanical to a degree, but not to the extent of doing the actual pre-drilling.

i noticed you guys dont check the back of your panels for shiners, how deal with that gap in process?

We address "shiners" or any missed fasteners for the walls in the shop before they get stacked into bundles. We check the floor panels from the under side once they are in place and secured.

This video wasn't meant to be funny. As much as we love to have a little fun and laugh, we do have to be serious on occasion, this was one of those occasions!
