Sounds good, Camirra! I suggest if you’re going to use a different bean, then maybe try my other recipes because it won’t yield the exact same results. Most of the flavor from this specific recipe is coming from the gandules themselves, and the grated green banana/plantain; chunks won’t release any flavor. However, I have videos for red, white, and black beans. 😊
I'm Puerto Rican 🇵🇷 raised in the states thankfully I had all the the ingredients I needed I put my little smokey sausages and instead of the sausages you use and chopped cooked ham I had to put the whole pack of ham flavor I grew up using the whole pack and I used the whole pack of sazon
I never knew you could make dumplings from green bananas!! Lower carb and a whole food option. Planning to incorporate more plant based foods into my diet. Suggestions for a pork substitute?
Oooo yes, and very high in fiber! Hmmmm, honestly, I think they will be just as tasty without the pork! My mom makes them that way and they’re still really good. 😌
Thank you for watching!! A special ‘thank you’ to those who always ‘like’ and comment on my videos. Your support means the world to me. 🥺♥️

Great video! My Abuela used to make this and it’s definitely old school! Thanks!
i think i will try this. maybe with a differnt bean though. i also will probably do chunks of green plantain instead of grating it.

Do you add a little salt to the masa?
I do not, but you definitely can
😊
Are the green bananas the same as the yellow banana but not ripe
Yes, that is correct! You may also use green plantain!
Thank you I thought it was two different things.
Let me see how it comes out.
My mom showed me this recipe your dumplings are a bit easier. We seasoned and rolled into lil balls which can be messy
