So did I! I named mine Angelsea Ambrosia, after my favorite Cat Stevens song, and also after one of my favorite Bands. - Interesting coincidence, 'eh?!
So did I. I named my son Ethan Ambrose... He knows this to be so and today is his 32nd birthday. Named after my love of David Pack when he was fronting Ambrosia❤
This song, & You're The Only Woman, & How Much I Feel... unbelievably beautiful, passionate songs. Ambrosia has always been one of my absolute favorites.
David Pack is the best of everything in the world. 'How Much I Feel' looks into the heart of anyone who has lost the most meaningful partner and love of their life. It's unbelievable how a gorgeous song can take one back almost 50 years and still feel the pain. His songs are so .spot-on, that it is as if he was sitting ascross from me and reading my mind. Love him so.
Man this guy, David Pack, was so hot! To see him perform, in his prime, is to witness true masculine beauty. His voice, his face, his body and his style are the epitome of a rock star. He exemplifies the handsome, well built, talented man. He will turn you on! Wow! Such a great and handsome interviewer person, too! Today a tragedy in Nashville, and it needs to be mentioned here. My heart and soul go out to the Nashville community. People are really suffering from a mass shooting at a school there! I have a relative that is in high school there, and another close relative that is at a University there in post-graduate medical school, so it hit our family very hard. Although I do not live there, now, we are united in heart and soul with the children and the people of Nashville! Sending our love to cover Nashville. Thanks for this interview and the opportunity to express our love with this beautiful song and the people behind it.💜🎸❤🩹🙏🔮🔔🎼🎶🚸🩺🫀🏫
Just saw this April 24, 2020. I've always loved Ambrosia's music! Then one day, my best friend who was also a former boyfriend of 7 years, died from a brain tumor. I was devistated, although we knew he had been battling it for years. I sat frozen in my car and just wept. Then I looked up and said, "Dougie, I love you so much. Please send me a message through song... I need to know you're hearing me." I turned on the radio and there it was. Suddenly, my tears of sadness became those of absolute Peace and Joy. To this day, it plays whenever I'm really thinking about him. The veil truly is thin. 😇💓🎶
Bless you both, I'd definitely be willing to bet dollars to donuts🙂 he sent you this great song to soothe your heart and to let you know he's with you and the feeling is mutual 🥲,🌠🌜🌠✨🌛✨
He mentioned Ray Manzareck, and in another interview he mentioned his admiration for Ricky Nelson. The summer of 1967 I was vacationing at a beach where Ricky Nelson was filming a show he wrote, produced and directed involving musical groups and artists. I met Ricky Nelson and was allowed to sit behind him while he directed each segment. I was also allowed to meet, talk to and get autographs from each artist. The Doors were one of those performing. When I approached Jim Morrison, he pushed me aside and knocked me into the sand. Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek helped me up, made sure I was okay, and signed autographs. Outside of welcoming my children and grandchildren into the world, that was the most magical, unforgettable time of my life. Thank you David Pack for the beautiful music you have brought into my life.
Even though it seems that Ambrosia has moved on without David (WTH, BTW?), David's voice is the signature sound of that band, no doubt about it. It's the voice that we associate with the band, then and always. Love your music and voice, David, as does my entire family.
To this day, that song is my absolute favorite. I posted "Your the biggest part of me, this morning on FB and one of my friends on there, said" White, with soul? Aww, he really never heard of Ambrosia!! I love love love this band, the songs everything about Ambrosia is timeless and classic music 💜
Agreed! Geez. He ruined that interview. Anyway, we are thankful that Michael McDonald told him the lyrics were all good and that he took too long getting back to David. One of the greatest songs of all time.
As a teenager learning songs in the seventies on my guitar with a song book, Biggest Part of Me had me thinking, wow, if I can play THIS song, then I'll really be a guitarist. Loved the chords, which I did get down, and I loved TRYING to sing the song.
I heard it on Tiktok and went found it immediately I've listen to maybe 50 times and that was Tuesday today is Friday Absolutely Great Song 🎵 ❣❣❣❣ 🤜🏿🤛🏿💯💪🏿
Wow! Just so happy to have heard him sing Biggest Part of Me live, when he had his concert here in Manila years ago. Been a fan since college and I'm 54 now. It's my lovesong for my husband❤
Yeah 1980 that's when I saw them in Sacramento and then 20 years later again in Sacramento and I bought them drinks after the concert. Real gentlemen, they're all real nice guys, and I just found out that the great Chuck Girard performed on a couple of their albums! Small world 🤠
i was 15 or 16 hired Ambrosia to play at neighbor's house (Curtis Korn's), didn't realize at the time that by 10 pm the neighbors called police to end the band. ;( had fun any way peace everybody! Enjoy!
I've been listening to Ambrosia since I was 13 / 14 years old ! The Road Island was my very first Cassette and I must've played " Beggings " a Thousand Times ! David Pack ❤️🙏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾✌🏾
Love David Pack and I just feel awful for him as his beautiful wife just passed away on Feb 9, 2023 of breast cancer. He has such a gentle caring heart and is a romantic and he writes and sings beautiful songs.
I still love this song.. The interview set looks drab and the interviewer looks drab but David Pack is so talented. Thanks for sharing David. Kimo Holland
@@brannciforte1373 Did you know Denise Huffington by any chance. She sang in one of shows for many years. I was playing guitar in a local band at the time, right out of high school. Graduated in 79. Me and my buddy ( our drummer) went to see Ambrosia at Opryland a couple of years later.
The anecdote at 8.40 about Mike McDonald taking 4 months to come up with a change in one line of lyrics is not a joke. Mike himself has joked in the 90s that it took him 5 years+ to write an album... for himself (cough Blue Obsession). It turned out to be a good album with a great dose of gospel / funk on the opening track All I Need co-written with Tommy Sims. A fantastic swing / country track 'Pour Me Another (Take It From The Top)' didn't make the final public release which is a shame - it was nice to hear Mike take on a more country tone (as he settled down in Nashville with his family - Leapers Fork). If you search hard it is available on a pre-release advance marketing print of Blue Obsession.
He is the second singer songwriter I 've learnt that has written a hit song while waiting for someone. Carly Simon wrote Anticipation while waiting for Cat Stevens.
Will we ever have love songs like this again? I think not. My teen son says that this song and other 70s love songs "give him a headache." The songs he listens to have lyrics about shooting people who come into your hood, selling drugs, characterizing women as something less than human and having piles of money; at any cost. What has happened to our culture? During the 70s, nearly all songs were about love and relationships. The lyrics were brilliant and the melodies and choruses were memorable. This song and How Much I Feel are masterpieces.
It always strikes me in a very spiritual way when you have an artist like Davis Pack who was undeniably born to write and perform music. it's as if the universe selects particular individuals to create beautiful art forms for the rest of us to enjoy while we are on this earth. It was no accident that he was born with this talent. I often wish I could be one of those people who are born with a natural God given talent to share with the world. It truly is a gift to know exactly what you are meant to do in life and have the skill and ability to follow through.
I feel really bad for anyone who doesn’t know who this man is. Truly one of the greatest singer song writers of all time.
Well said.
Not a bad player guitar either.
I was able to meet him a few years ago and he is as nice as he is talented.
Agreed!!
I gave my daughter the middle name Ambrosia, after your band, and, she was born on the Fourth of July 1982! Thank you for the greatest songs!❤️.

David’s voice is still amazing. Same phenomenal pitch and range as he always had.
Yea unbelievably so

I LOVE David Pack!! As a DJ, I played his music many times on FM radio. God, I miss those days!!
This is one of the songs that I would consider to be absolutely perfect. It's just absolutely, straight up, perfect.

Loved Ambrosia and still do. Timeless.

I bought this album in 1980 at one of the many disc stores in Manhattan. There goes 42 years...times flies
Those years have just flown by. Hyper speed.!!!!
The amazing David Pack, singer, songwriter, producer. ❤️
It was his voice that drew me to listen to Ambrosia in the first instance.
You are so right!❤ That wonderful voice!❤❤❤

An awesome masterpiece. Tanks David Pack. Priceless 🙏❤️🤙🎵
The interviewer likes to get kind of touchy feely.
Wow! Just so happy to have heard him sing Biggest Part of Me live, when he had his concert here in Manila years ago. Been a fan since college and I'm 54 now. It's my lovesong for my husband❤
❤❤❤ LOVE THIS SONG!! Thank you for sharing this interview, and to David, thank you for a national treasure song. ✌🏼
I have a list of favorite songs I have but Biggest Part Of Me is no.1👆🏻
I remember buying that album (One Eighty) back in 1980.
Ambrosia is one of my all time favorite bands! 💞 This interviewer needs to keep his hands to himself. Sheesh!
I love the original song by Ambrosia and I also, love Take 6 version. One of my favorite songs ever.
One of my all time favorite songs-so great!! The epitome of the perfectly written, perfectly sung pop song
Oh 100%!
Interesting, always loved his voice and that song.
David Pack can sing to me anytime and any day. 🥰😍
Terrible interviewer. David was so patient waiting to speak.
Yeah he sucks
Saw Ambrosia in 1980. Fantastic-freakin' concert!

Quincy Jones said it was the greatest song ever recorded...I'd have to agree with him.
So many great songs
FANTASTIC SONG!!!
After the interviewer put his hand on Dave’s knee I couldn’t watch anymore
I had the pleasure of meeting the band when they played at Opryland! One of my all time favorite bands.
Way back in 1979 I played guitar on stage at old Opryland, sure wish Ambrosia would have been there that weekend.

Going to see them live in Warren OH July 2024. I rarely go to concerts, but have to see them live.
Unwatchable due to the interviewer thinking he was the main attraction. (sigh)
thank you

Does the guy in the brown shirt have a radio voice or what!
David Pack was/is one hell of singer. Amazing voice. FYI, Holding on To Yesterday was just one example.

Golden last 35 seconds of video. Keyboard and vocal talent present even now.
