It looks beautiful! Reece did a fantastic job.
My favourite part is Mia tottering around on the underlay and then checking out the carpet. "good job dad, oh yes, very nice" SHE IS JUST THE MOST PRECIOUS LIL GAL.
😂😂😂 I know!!! I had to film her reaction to the carpet cos we’ve never had it in our main areas before! I wasn’t there while Reece was doing the underlay so watching the footage back was so funny 😂 I wasn’t even paying attention to what he was doing, too busy watching mia 🥲
I love the dark floors! Especially because there are so many windows showing the red dirt & plants outside, the dark floors create an amazing contrast. The carpet is stunning too. As someone who wants to build their own home eventually I am loving this series so much :')

Is that Rees doing the floor? How amazing!! That man can do everything... very talented. FLOOR looking great. ... Those are not circles, Loz, those are HEXAGONS. Floor is beautiful but as a fellow dark floor house- it shows every grain of dust!!! Get a robo vacuum 😂

I have very similar engineered wood flooring and a golden retriever and toddler and honestly it doesn’t look dirty EVER! Doesn’t scratch and still looks brand new years later. Absolutely love it and always get lovely comments. Great choice! X
@lynnmareemurton7868 I was going to say the same thing. We also have engineered timber with a dog and two small kids and we love it. Yes it has some scratches (we had two “serious” incidents with a chopping board and some dining chairs) but we both agreed the floor was going to be a living material and would have to wear with us. We even took it into the bedrooms and only carpeted the media room. Don’t regret our choice at all it’s such a stunning floor and feels beautiful even in the middle of winter.

I love dark flooring because it makes a room look expensive - BUT I've lived with dark floors and you can see every speck of dust and it drove me insane. I'd definitely recommend an air purifier to manage the dust in the rooms to keep it off the floor. Love these home videos and can't wait to see more!

Looks absolutely amazing Lauren, the dark is so striking and really brings your outside environment inside, we have just laid herringbone light oak and believe me….they still require lots of cleaning too, especially with 2 dogs LOL. Can’t wait for the furniture video. Lots of love xx

I love dark floors. I didn't get light - But I got a colour that's sort of in-between. I think that dark would have actually helped hide the dirt better. Because of how the light shines in on them. Your colour scheme is perfection

Yes to the dark floor! 😍 I have dark flooring not as dark as yours but we love it! That was the only thing I wanted dark floors 🤣 shows a lot of dust but nothing a vacuum can’t fix I got a robot vac that also mops it’s great 🙏🏻

The wooden strips under the windows is such an amazing idea! It would probably also help stop the carpet getting mouldy if the windows ever get condensation -- might not be an issue where you are but it is where I am!

Love the dark floors! But be careful with the carpet, I had it in my house and it started pulling up and didn’t look so nice. Can’t wait to see the rest of the house 😍
You’ve got to be careful with vacuums, the popular ones like Dyson aren’t good for this carpet cos of the rolling action! Thanks so much 🥰
Well done, Reece! Love dark wood! We have dark floors. With a dog, there is constant sweeping and vacuuming, but I totally prefer dark wood to light so it’s not a big deal.

You might already know this but as an interior designer, just wanted to share some knowledge - your wool carpet will shed for the first few months and look like its losing all of its fibres, but don't be distressed! It settles in after a while and will stop losing fibres. Looking beautiful

@@laurencurtis it was definitely an amateur mistake at the time. We were 18 when we built our first/ current home. Knowing what I know now i definitely would have taken a few samples to test out, a nice excuse to upgrade though 😅

Hate tiles so cold and the grout looks dirty and too much upkeep to keep it looking clean. Love the dark but we went with light as I can't keep up with the upkeep of dark 😅

No underlay underneath? A higher quality wood will not have any imperfections (knots) if you wanted a light wood. Love the dark wood - timeless!
Timber doesn’t require underlay if it’s direct stick. Thanks!
Also not necessarily true, some of our timbers are high quality but are naturally quite grainy and knotty! That’s why people choose them
