I have a collection of three hundred games and the only one I have from this “ shelf of shame” presentation is the Santorini expansion. 🤣🤣. So many games! This weekend I played two ( new for me) games: Project L and The Whatnot Cabinet. I enjoyed them both. 👍
We have played Black Angel since we filmed this, and we would agree - really fun game! A bit surprised you don't hear about it more. Thanks for watching!
I love the ambition of playing every single game you showed after you finished the video 😊. Also, Board Game Co said that Valor and Villany is a pretty long game, so I wonder if that was an estimate of 25 minutes per player?
Haha we started this weird joke where we said we’d “play it today” then just rolled with it the whole video. It likely was 25 / player you’re right. Makes sense given how long it took us to play in the couple sessions we did.
Hey guys! Another solid video. You shelf of shame makes me feel terrible with my unplayed games, it’s so embarrassing. I love Jeff’s response to some of the games, “I have no idea what this one is about.” Then, “...we are playing this one today.” Love you guys and your content. Just catching up with stuff now that I’m back from vacation.
Welcome back Jazz! I really ran with the "we will play this one today" bit. We did not in fact, play most of them that day. Sometimes I think I am funnier than I am haha. Yeah the shelf of shame is real - we thought it was way smaller then it was until we started pulling games off the shelf.
@@FostertheMeeple this episode I was rolling laughing. I love the comedy. At least you played some games. I would have said I was gonna play them and then something would have come up, I’d look at my watch only to see that it was almost midnight and got nothing played.
Definitely try Betrayal if you like horror... I love the exploring the haunted house part, but there are also 50 scenarios to explore, so definitely great if you can get a group together.
Some great titles there. Have fun exploring your opportunity games. By the way, I have determined I am part of #TeamJeff (I do not play Co-op games either).
My wife and I love your channel. Great videos and keep it up. Some of our favorite 2 player games from your shelf are: Back to the Future: Back In Time (it is just like playing the movie and is very difficult but fun). Tiny Towns Fortune should just always be combined with the base game. It is a great addition. Black Angel is medium weight and takes a bit to get the hang of but is really rewarding and cool.Quest for El Dorado is a great racing and deck building game. We love this one. Those are some of our favorites. I hope that helps. Enjoy and happy gaming.
This is amazing!! We actually played Black Angel right after this video was filmed, we had a really great time playing it! Jamie really wants to play Back to the Future but the difficulty level certainly has us hesitating. Really appreciate you watching and the recommendations!!
Thought the Blackout Hong Kong board was sorted out in the 2nd edition, which I believe is what you have?... Anyway Covid has certainly put a damper on the game playing for everyone so I understand . I have quite a few that have not seen anything but solo play this past year as well. Looking forward to more social times soon hopefully. Thanks for another great video!
You are probably correct on the board! (we haven't even opened the box yet haha) We have a tendency to gravitate towards games we don't have to learn - but we are trying to get better at playing these games! Appreciate you watching!
@@FostertheMeeple I'm sure you could get it done in one but we played it after the kids went to bed. If you get it played you'll have to let me know how it goes! Haha
I know I am a bit late to the party, I am rewatching your videos. I really enjoyed this one. Betrayal at house on the hill and Arkham Horror LCG is great and Istanbul I also like. Most of the other ones I have not played either.
Thank you for the kind words! Virtual friends it is! We are looking forward to getting in to playing some of these games. We really appreciate you watching!
I own about ten games I havent played. I have fair excuses for most of them, so I'm honestly not that ashamed. Still would like to play a bunch of them.
By the way, if you have all of the games for the North Sea Trilogy, I recommend picking up the North Sea Runesaga which is a meta-game that consists of playing all three games in the series and as you progress through the series, players earn runes which confer benefits to bring into the next game. At the end, there will be an overall winner of the Runesaga as well.
pictionary air....😏...the shake weight of board games..come on...how did someone from marketing not go..."uhhh...guys, we may want to rethink the packaging on that one"
I want to get Dune to the table. Waiting for vaccinations of friends... apparently it really needs the full compliment of players to shine. I hope you enjoyed Black Angel! My wife and I pull that out decently regularly. Also, Arkham Horror LCG is amazing!! The base box isn't as good as the next cycle, but it's a lot of fun even still. I like it best at two with dark ambient music. Be prepared to fail miserably 😄 Ooh!!! Mage Knight is amazing. Worth a try, but it is a bit of a bear to learn. It won't be for everyone, but I love it! It has a tutorial game to play through, so that's nice at least.
Yea as primarily two player right now, like yourself - we may leave Dune until we can play with others. We really like Black Angel (we played it since filming) we are going to get another play through soon - we liked it a lot! Arkham horror needs to be played, just so much push from viewers to get into that one!
The differences between TI3 and TI4 are mostly cosmetic with a few rules changes. The main differences is TI4 has all the races from TI3 and the two TI3 expansions in TI4's core game... and the changes to how the tech tree works and the Strategy Action Cards were revamped. Overall though, how you play the gamea is identical. You need at least 4 players, lots of table space, and some suckers... I mean players... willing to play for 6 to 24 hours (not really 24 hours, more like 8 hours) and experience the greatest sci-fi board game space epic ever designed. Oh, and watch a few reviews and some gameplay.
Let me try to remember here!!! Black Angel, Valour & Villainy, Back to the Future, Tiny Towns Fortune, Small World of Warcraft, Quest for El Dorado, Marvel Villainous! All knocked off the list. Thanks so much for the kind words!
Some definitely are but a lot have left the collection. Ones we still have that are not played off this list: Mage Knight TI: 3 Star Wars Rebellion Blackout: Hong Kong
@@horoshiHT we have played it a handful of times and have a ton of fun each time. Definitely recommend it if you get a chance to play it. (We also love clank) I really want to try out Dune Imperium. I loved the book. We have regular Dune but it’s not yet hit the table.

How do I get in on all these auctions? It’s nice seeing some fellow Haligonians in the board game space on UA-cam!

Mariner Auctions is the local one we check out time to time. It’s online, should be easy to find! (Pickup location is in Dartmouth).

Star Wars Rebellion
Blackout: Hong Kong
