actually though, i think it's just loading map geometry in a really weird and interesting way. i went back a couple days ago and checked every map, and all past testchmb_a_02 didn't look geometric or possessed in any way, and the visuals looked like it came from the map itself and not some divine being warning us all we are messing with forces beyond the capabilities of our human minds comprehension
okay here me out portal 2 low code% its like low% in most games but instead of items, you have to delete as many files as possible and beat the game without skipping straight to the end
For people that dont know, BSP is the file type for source maps that have been readied for the end user, im pretty sure VTF is maps that are being worked on lol from my experince using hammer.

for another video i deleted all the sound sources, and i just got the glitchy noises from the usb unplugging video, likely for the same reason (trying to write sounds to memory but there are no sounds to write, so its playing the data in memory where the sound should be)
pretty sure that's for portal 2 specifically, and not really any other source game probably to make sure the game isn't trying to play sounds that don't exist
unrelated funny fact: i loaded dustbowl in portal and it gave an error message that said *"CMod_LoadTextures: funny lump size"* discord people tell me its bc of tf2 lighting but its still funny to see the game say "funny lump size", no capital letters, no punctuation, nothing, just funny lump size

.bsp is binary space partitioning, it is a map. .vpk is an individual MODEL.
