    Lyrics:
Is this our trenches or are those our graves?
Forgotten by fathers, by kings and by slaves
Our moment has come and war brings her pleasures
We cursing our souls in face of the terrors
I'm writing the letter to comfort my mother
"It's all gettin' better, we'll soon see each other"
This is my farewell, it's my epitaph
We have to compel to this cursed bond
Stay your ground! Hold them back!
    Pound the drums! They attack!
We are chosen few for glory and fame
But will anyone remember my name?
Flash and burst! On and on!
    Reinforced by the roar!
The part of my squad is already dead
Some due to the fighting, some due to betray
    Do what we command!
    Defense must withstand!
The price for win will be
    Demise of Division Three!
    Who decide who's to die?
    General in staff's palace!
They've taken away my right to say no
Their goddamn decisions created this horror
    Why we, God? Answer me!
I've been trod by your grace!
But cursing the people and cursing divine
Is just hopeless cry of mankind confine!
    Do what we command!
    Defense must withstand!
The price for win will be
    Demise of Division Three!
Bodies fills craters left by the bombs
Sorrow fills psyche of someone's son
    Politicians’ great ambitions
    And grim reaper exhibition
As we charged across the field
Against guns roar and raving flame
I saw my friends fall down to mud
    For glory of our general
I don't know if I can stand it but I have no choice
I didn't want to change the borders nor to kill those boys
Please forgive me God in heaven, truly I regret
That I didn't have a courage to shoot myself
    Turn to meat! By conscription!
    I'm defeat! By conviction
That's soldier fate is dying for land
And dread that's attached no-one understands
    Patriotic! Pathetic!
    Sacrifice! Suicide!
The industry gears and golden crowns
Will grind our bones if we won't comply
    Do what we command!
    Defense must withstand!
The price for win will be
    Demise of Division Three!

So, after a few months, I'm coming back with uploading each song to give you a little story behind it.
    Let's start with "Cursed Bound".
When I uploaded the "Journey Among The Concrete Cities", I told you that I will come back to the topic of Ukraine. And this is it.
The title of the song refers to the difficult, but necessary requirement that we have to our country - to defend it. I don't want to debate whether it is fair or not - personally I treat as something that is required in difficult times. No army is able to operate long without reserves, so sometimes we have to compel... to this cursed bound.
However, conflict on Ukraine, that from my perspective happening right next to me, showed me what does 'unnecessary conflict' means. Millions were forced to leave their homes, that they may never see again, basic needs of many are unfulfilled and entire society has to operate under enormous threat - the threat of death. And what for? Some imperial sentiments of delusional leaders? Or economic interests? It's truly horrifying.
However, I noticed, that the perspective that often might be overlooked is the perspective of the soldier. Someone that is praised by propaganda for bravely defending his home country or heroically defeating an enemy on his own territory. However, my question is... is this really the whole truth? Obviously, many men can feel obliged to do what has to be done for his country, but... are we all really ready for facing the horror of losing friends, parts of our bodies, sanity or life? I believe that there are extremely few people in our society ready to face this kind of horror. Most of us would try their best on the battlefield, but no training or purpose will be able to eradicate... well, soul from us. That is why so many of the soldiers, no matter how elite they are, are coming back home traumatized for the rest of their lives.
What struck me even more, while watching news from Ukraine - is the fact, that this war is so futile. Russian side doesn't care about their soldiers and uses massive attack doctrine without proper coordination of forces, which led to a hundred thousands unnecessary deaths of people that were forced to be there (or at least part of them - I'm not denying that some Russian soldiers are psychopathic beasts, but great exodus of young men from Russia shows, that there are two kinds of Russians there). Ukrainians on the other side has to face the sheer brutality of their opponents. We know from the reports about war crimes and POW executions done by the opposing forces, which can both mobilize to defend the home country and create a scare for life.
So, although it is a song inspired by events from Ukraine, it has a more general interpretation. It shows the duality of a soldier - someone that know he has some obligations, but also desperately wants to keep his morality, which war indifferently ignores. Which led to destroying entire generations of nations. In exchange for... what? Fulfilling someone's political or economical agenda? Yeah, "Paths Of Glory" showed it right - there is a separate fate of the low and highborn during the wartime. So... this song can be also viewed as my political commentary on how the society operates since... well, let's be honest, ever.
In terms of musical inspirations, this is a song that has a lot of death doom influences - 1914, Temple Of Void, Incantation - just to name a few. In the middle part, I decided to do some more black metallish break in style of Cultes Des Ghoules, to complete the musical "painting" of the war. Because I feel that this kind of mix of music best describes the reality of war - monotonous and brutal, but when the time comes also chaotic and full of horror. No place for vulnerability or self needs. Only duty and horrifying fate, that is hard to grasp for someone that watches from the site.
