I met Sam pilgrim in whistler and he faced timed with my buddy who was in the hospital after a bad crash. Super great dude.
I met Sam Pilgrim a while back and he's a really friendly guy, pretty much the same as he is in his videos. He's a great inspiration for anyone who loves mountain biking, talented and full of positivity
I was on my way to work in an small Canadian airport, and Sam was just chilling. I said hi, and had a nice normal chat with him. He's awesome! I just acted normal and respected his space.

Met the guy in Milano back in 2007 at the Quashquai Challenge when he was very young and very much at the start of his journey. You could sense already that he is pure dedication…and friendliness.

Definitely a click bait title lol I’ve never met Sam but he’s so knowledgeable, great rider and a great spokesperson for mountain biking or anything really. Apparently it is pretty hard to be famous. Sam just need to find some good land outside a nice spot so he’s got some privacy

I admire from a distance. Would never engage in a selfie frenzy or invade somebody's private space if I spot a famous person having dinner in a restaurant. I tend to not do to others what I dont like being done to me. 🤷🏻♂️

Me and my son love watching Pilgs, he is without doubt a living legend in the MTB community. However, we have been to a few "events" recently and met many of our idols, Ollie included 😉. Everyone has been patient, gracious and friendly, and it's been greatly appreciated. Unfortunately Sam was the only fella that left my boy a little disappointed. (probably my fault, I always encourage him to "politely" say Hi and chance a selfie).
BUT I totally get it, its obvious how hard it is for you guys and especially for someone as popular as Sam Pilgrim. Fortunately my boy reslises that and was fairly pragmatic about the interaction and understood. We still love Pilgs ❤

A couple mates and I only started on a MTB 3 months back and I drove to twisted oaks when it was closed and walked around. I spoke to a guy filming and he was really humble and funny. He told me to walk around and look at whatever I want. I met another guy who worked there and I said that the previous guy told me it was ok to walk around and look. The second guy told me I spoke to Sam pilgrim. I didn’t know who he was until I went home and googled it 😅
We dont have many DH riders in germany because being a social media influencer just makes more money. Germans are only driven by profit, not by prestige, not by respect, its only about the money.

@@TheRideCompanion I wouldn’t say all of us Germans are driven by profit but he’s right, most of the really good riders are not really competing in contests but more active on social media.
wouldn’t agree fully with the statement mentioned above! Bike sport in Germany is dominated by XC and road biking. officials in the biking organizations for many years didn’t take Downhill (gravity) serious. So there wasn’t a lot of support or structure if you want to be a german downhill rider and a lot of talent was lost over the years. Things are changing slowly but germany is no way near a structure like france has.
@@Aveal the lag of mountains doesn't help... followed by the fact that the biggest sport in Germany is making fun illegal.. there are no bike parks around me at all and in the local hills biking is illegal on all ways but a few non trail like routs.. hikers (and by that I mean people driving to the hills to walk their dog..) have started laying boards with nails onto the trails.. unless you aren't born right next to the alps or near one of the other 4 bike parks- why would anybody discover a talent for downhill mountainbiking

I’d love to see Sam Pilgrim head up a task force to approach the government with a view to extending the speed limit for emtb’s ……. Above all he along with Ollie, Brandon fairclough, Tom cardy, Deeks, Tom Isted , Matt Jones, and many more leading the way for UK mountain biking 👏🏽

I wish Pilg all the best, dude has personality for miles, but...from everything I've heard, Canyon has the absolute most shit customer service of any bike company in existence, if you have a problem with your new bike you're basically screwed. Please correct me if I'm wrong, maybe the ( multiple ) people I've heard this from just have personal problems with the company. Canyon does make some awesome bikes for sure but you gotta support the product.

I saw him once ...came across as abit of a nob . A rider had crashed and badly hurt on a trail and I asked him politely not to ride down the trail and he had proper attitude.
