many thanks indeed for making this video when the then new almondvale shopping centre opened my mother and sisters and myself would walk to the centre for our shopping then if we had the money we might've got the bus back to ladywell I can remember the wee playpark just in front of the tennis courts beside harrysmuir primary and the "vennie" the large wooden climbing frame there too grand memories of growing up in a new town 40+ years ago now again many thanks from a long way away
Thanks! I thought it would be. It's a shame that quite a few art works didn't survive the town's early days. There's a book about them, out of print now but I think it can be found as a pdf online - 'Out in the Open' - that tells the story of the town's art.
and when you get to the knightsridge shops (minus the harvester pub now demolished) if you take the path to the left you can go to deans and Livingston North train station I obviously cycled and walked this way and as I was leaving Livingston the train station was being readed to be re-opened
You must have been leaving about the time I moved to Livingston with my first daughter still in her pram in the early eighties. The station was opened around that time - a single line running a single carriage train on an infrequent service between Edinburgh and Bathgate. Quite a difference to now with four trains an hour on two line between Edinburgh all the way through to Helensburgh! I remember the Harvester too, before it was demolished.
Always enjoy your videos, lived in Edmonton avenue in the 70s and went to Toronto primary, it’s great to see the old neighbourhood
Thank you! Glad you enjoy them.
You can almost ignore my comment on your other video....because you covered 75% of the route in this one! Brilliant.
Ha Ha! THat leaves 25% to do 😉. Thank you again for commenting.
