Merwin Winter Kokanee Challenge

- We head over to Merwin Reservoir to try our luck out on Kokanee. Wind was terrible, and water temps below ideal, but it’s good to test your abilities in adverse conditions. See if you can beat my score, it won’t be too difficult. We only caught a few, so if you want to try you have to fish Merwin January to February, four hours and post in comments or email me to tell me how you did.
I caught my first fish on a Deadly Venom gold dodger, on surface 200 feet back on a small yellow spin glow.
My second was caught on green arrow flasher with a yellow spin glow.

Hey North Fork Lures, nice day out even if it was a bit rough.Glad you stopped earlier, my next video is going to be fishing for walleye. Live in Northern Ontario 6 months of the year. Haha some days it’s just a grind. Sucks that the lines got tangled. Winter fishing can be a challenge, way to get out there and get it done though!

With that nasty weather the addition of the enclosure had to make the day a little more bearable and any fish in the box was a big plus!!

Were you using braided line? I don't like using braid when I have poles close or fishing for big fish because of the epic tangles that will take hours to undo. Seemed like a rough day with the boat ramp, wind and tangles but at least you didn't blank. 👍
Peeling Line no it was mono. So untangling wasn’t to terribly bad but still sucked. Thanks for watching my brother
