12:46 PM - 1 Adult and 5 children displaced from rental home at 2622 E Michigan St after heavy fire breaks out and forces evacuation. The cause is under investigation.
#IFD Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire in the rear of the home with exposures to the east in danger. An aggressive attack kept the fire contained to the original structure with no firefighter injuries. Under control in 30 minutes.
The landlord was working with the family to find shelter at another property with Red Cross assisting as well.
