MSV is a phenomenon,no doubt. Most of the songs referred to in this program were MSV and TKR combo. It is sad that not even a passing reference is made to TKR who was an excellent in arranging amd mixing especially

valid point. Or if the speaker wanted to focus on MSV alone, there are countless great songs which MSV composed as a solo composer and which could have been taken and analyzed.

Excellent Exploration. Mr Bala Shankar Sir's Voice has got a Better and attractive Sruthi Level. Vera Level, compared to Present Day Stage Show Singers who don't have either an attitude or aptitude to sing TMS's songs at a "GaNeer" Sruthi Level. Pathetic & Miserable to see most of them singing in a relatively monotonous soft voice. (Had Mr Bala Shankar been a Professional Singer with a dedicated Focus on improving certain aspects of singing he would be in a Great Demand Today for the current era's TV / You Tube Channels' Shows.) In Amaidhiyaana Nadhiyinile Odam Song, the Opening Flute Music itself used to stir our nerves and a Perfect Picturisation by Director K Shankar shooting a moving Steam Engine Train above that waterway bridge. And keeping in mind the word "Nadhi", Santoor has been beautifully used along with a Rhythm / Bass Guitar in the backdrop. Throughout the Song the sweetness emitted by the flute stays and keeps lingering in our ears seamlessly.

Uravugal Thodar Kathai 1978, is the copy of Yaar Antha Nilavu 1965. MSV has not left anything for others to innovat, but to copy his music only. There is song, Nalla Kaariyam Seekiram 1973, what a situational one, and the background music is mind-blowing, the ambience, the anguish, the two going through, due to family rift. This is what called cinema music. His Songs for smart, intelligent audiences, like himself. MSV is the greatest of all time, the music world will never see anyone of his calibre.

Vandhanal mudhal is inspired from " Calypso blues" by Nat king Cole. The GK Venkatesh version is also amazing
    orchestration.
Thanks once again MMFA for your efforts.

I find a Sea Difference between this composition and Calypso Blues by Nat King Cole mentioned by you. This is such a slow paced composition with a completely different Rhythm. GK Venkatesh Voice's Sruthi was at a Low Level. TMS's and Susheela"s Natural Upper Sruthi level were Gifted ones and that's the reason their voices and their singing keep captivating the Listeners for ever. In this Song, the tune for the anu pallavi / First CharaNam line: "Nilai maarinaal GuNam Maaruvaar" is different compared to the succeeding 2 charaNams and it stands apart. Such a fantastic composition by MSV that we should listen to it during Late Nights to realise the Efficacy of the Tune in a Silent environment. The song has got a simple Orchestration as it doesn't need a grand one since the lyrics needed to be showcased. And MSV was a Master staying ahead always on that count as he knew where to give the stress to orchestration and where not to.

@@vasudevancv8470 Yes, "Nilai marinal" is typical MSV flourish - like an Aun pallavi. He did it many times when he went solo. I immediately recollect "Karumbinil then vaitha" in "Kanne Kaniye" from Ragasiya police 115. Also, "Aivagai ambugal" in Neela Nayanangalil.....

@@rravi1045 Even in this Song, he has beautifully linked the line "Manidhan Maarivittaan, madhathil Yeri vittaan" each time the charaNam closes. That's called a pure "MSV" Brand !

@@vasudevancv8470 Yes, that too is a MSV speciality!!! He creates, right around the pallavi, several "return" phrases. that adds variety and beauty to the song. Two P Susheela gems come to mind: Chitthirai matham from Raman ethanai... and Satthiya Mutthirai from Kanne Pappa.

It is quite natural that one M.D is getting influential by other M.Ds. Based on that they compose songs using their individuality. It doesn’t mean to say they are copying .

Msv sir is great but the presenter told msv sir music is 100% original which is not correct
Msv sir Inspired many songs from hindi and bengali music
Eg : sun mere bandhu re song of SD burman sir inspired for thazhayam poo mudichu

MSV is indeed a gifted composer but where is the need to justify his greatness giving a wrong reference. The song :Uravugal Thdarkathai... " is given as a reference to say that the songs post MSV did not have continuity. What about the song "nee illatha pothu yengum nenjam pollatha kadhai sollum...." has a longer continuity than the song mentioned. I repeat - MSV is a genius but it is not justified to give wrong references
