Imagine climbing the 2nd highest mountain on Earth(which is also considered the most difficult), skiing all the way down and having only1,3m views 4 years after you've published the footage... Welcome to the 21st century. Much respect Andrzej, may the force be with you, always ;)
YES, the natural sounds added way more tension. I almost got tired watching. Noticed his skis moving around a lot and remembered that's what happens when your legs are exhausted.
thats the only real achievement of this descent. skiing? that have done many before! but uploading a skiing video without music? that is an achievemant as big as armstrong on the moon.
no music but the sound is added later, is not the originial breathing it was just added for dramatic effect which sucks, original wind would have been top
There is 20% chance of dying when trying to summit mount K2. And this guy takes it to another level. This is pure insanity, I can't believe that this was possible. Major kudos.
It's also more dangerous coming down than it is going up. You're tired, the sun has warmed the rocks and snow causing a higher chance of rock falls and avalanches, and it's harder to control your downward movement than your uphill movement (think falling down stairs as opposed to falling up stairs.)
Some parts of the mountain touched by him must be the first time ever by a human in mankind's history...it really takes a lot of guts to achieve this unique feat.
Summitting K2 was my dream at one point. It's amazing to see, you took the risk of not having a supplementary oxygen and ski all the way down. Congrats Andrzej!
@@jiplinnartz5820 No shit. "a few times" isnt experienced at all. Yes, Im sure this guy skied more than a few times. I think you missed the point of the comment. I am not an experienced skier. I think its impressive how good skiers can descend such a steep mountain.

I don’t understand how a frictionless ski board can compare with ice gripper under boots? And where is the confidence came from?? Amazed.

The video starts with him reaching the summit of K2, alone, with no oxygen and skis on his back - THEN it goes to show his actual unique accomplishment... let that sink in for a minute...
The courage of the skier unparalleled joining the select club of those who skied down Everest. The first attempt to ski down Everest (not from the Summit), Japanese gent who had to deploy a parachute to slow himself down to little avail but he survived. This is tremendous and this is the famous 'killer' mountain. Also, the drone operator, and drone creator, that is some drone, operating at those altitudes and filming, your remote transmitter-receivers must be military grade. Awesome technological feat. Inspiration of human endeavor and technological prowess.
Hi saintrroy, there is a documentary somewhere on yt regarding the Japanese man. It was sad as a member of his crew died, but he said it was all in the cause.....
Thanks Paul. I have seen the full movie of Yuichiro Miro's schussing run with parachute deployment, that was some fall, and he lived to climb Everest at the ripe young age of 80! Am looking for Bargiel's full video - not found that anywhere. It was live-streamed apparently
and during / or after this attempt, he used that drone to locate guy that went missing and presumed dead on broad peak (Rick Allen). they saved him, thanks to drone and amazing operator. true heroes!
Drone operator was his brother himself. He was watching over is brother over summit. And it was DJI inspire 1 or 2. Anyway there is already full documentary one hour long

This is Madness!! Respect and kudos to the whole team .. I know the first winter ascent on K2 will be a Polish one too .. if the Majestic ever allows it .. Hard luck for last year Winter Expedition .. nevertheless, this achievement is surreal. Wow!
Poles are one of the greatest mountaineering nations. George Kukuczka was the second person to climb all peaks above 8,000 m, Wanda Rutkiewicz was the first woman to climb K 2, and many first winter ascents of eight-thousanders were accomplished by Polish teams. Which is all the more remarkable as Poland is basically a flat country, with just a small range of mountains (elevation 2,000-2,500 m) in its South. Additionally in Kukuczka's and Rutkiewicz' times travel abroad was restricted by the then communist Polish regime and hard currency was extremely scarce. Andrzej's daredevil ski descent is another great feat in mountaineering history. Great respect !
