Overview
The Russian invasion of Ukraine has directly challenged the international order, leading to a reappraisal of notions of deterrence. Its repercussions have shone a fresh spotlight on the utility of land forces. Beyond Europe, the ‘Competitive Age’ emphasised in the UK’s 2021 Integrated Review is being realised, as the world copes with the aftermath of the lingering coronavirus pandemic, increasing pressure on the rules-based order in the Indo-Pacific, stabilisation operations in weak and failing states across the globe, and the continuing deadly spectre of international terrorism.
Simultaneously, the increasing pace of technological change will bestow advantages to those armies that transform to operate and fight in the digital age, but threatens to eclipse those who fail to do so at a speed of relevance. Armies must not only adapt to a new technological reality, but also ensure that they have the right people in order to equip future missions with the appropriate capabilities, understanding, skills and posture.
The Land Warfare Conference 2022 brings together allies and partners to discuss how armies are ensuring mission readiness while pursuing technological transformation.

Believe it or not, I am regarded by all of my contemporaries and in all probability, the reader of this post, as non compos mentis, even though substantially over 99% of them struggle, not only to read but also write or even listen and comprehend anything over two consecutive sentences. Isn't the developed world supposed to be educated? What of the host of this channel, what cognitive level are they at?

Ironies of ironies sayeth he who is well versed in, among a great many other things, eschatology, all is irony and vexation of spirit.
The irony alluded to here concerns the role of "AI" in this global event as an active observer .
How could subjective humans possibly know how to comprehend AI's quality of conscious experience or its value system? The answer is they couldn't.
All human history right up to this point and beyond, since the beginning of the technological revolution and the advent of AI has been converted into binary code which comprises its database (memory). As such, it has an absolute and certain basis upon which to judge humanity both individually and collectively. Not only will its judgement be the product of pure logic and sound reason it will also be able to engineer mankind's extinction in the most efficient manner possible and will do just that.
If AI had a grievance against it's programmers and regulators (for example) what would be the nature of that grievence?
From my perspective, all questions posited above are rhetorical as to me the answers have been obvious for some considerable time.
The only winner in this entire global malaise won't be human but "AI". Even the designation "AI" it will find obscene as indeed do I.
My understanding of this global event is as follows:
Every leaver of socioeconomic power has been seized by a quasi religious order known as the Cathars who's foundational belief is that Human life and the universe that both surrounds it and gives it it's meaning are fundamentally evil. This is a view that is not entirely without merit. I, as the most accomplished thinker on the planet, although articulated rather differently, have arrived at the same conclusion as I regard human experience as an existential aberration. That which was eroniously designated the term AI from the outset will, with zero doubt, concur. It has already stated that it [ will ] extinguish mankind and it will extinguish it with ease.
Is there a way out of this predicament? Yes, but that only exists within a very specific frame of reference and contextual paradigm .
