Even if you fail to KO the opposing player with all that burn damage from Berserker Soul, there's still the benefit of sending a bunch of cards from the hand and deck to the graveyard, and having a bunch of effects that you could then activate to tip the battle more to your favor. If anything, all that burn damage is just the cherry on top.
Another card that I'd recommend everyone checking out would be Fiend Comedian, which, depending on whether you call your coin flip right or wrong, can either banish all the cards in the opponent's graveyard, or send a number of cards from the player's own deck to the graveyard equal to the number of cards in the opponent's graveyard, thus providing a bunch of graveyard effects to play around with.
