Every garage has a story to tell, but this museum has a history with chapters of bikes
Wow the knowledge Matt has is unbelievable!!🤯
How lucky to have had a Dad like mine. Died too young but taught his wisdom to his son. Let's carry own Young Man.
Matt is a huge wealth of information. Unreal collection
I love the original repair shops buildings ,he reassembled inside.
That graveyard and chopper corner, looks like a postcard picture.
Maggie Valley, my home for 13 years...
Great museum, awesome people, Matt, family and staff.
Rest in Peace Dale 🕊️
🪶🪶🪶
Thank you Matt for being the perfect custodian to Dales life long efforts and passion.
I have a list of names I say aloud everyday of my life. I feel they have to be remembered.
Just know your dad's name is mentioned in the same breath as Ace Elliot and Les Myers.
My heros
Thanks Kap
Earl i agree 100%, Matt is a walking encyclopedia and world class mechanic. He is filling his dads shoes, Dale is very proud of him im sure. I cant imagine anyone replacing Matt he is a perfect fit and a true Legend in the making. The Legacy will continue.
My first Harley was a 1954 45ci Servi-Car that eventually became a chopper.
Love Kristy and Kaplan..No museum can be big and better than ours.. Kaplan Fans Association 💪🏻
Matt his father who started it all and team.......WOW is all I can say just magic
what an incredible place, i am speechless.
Great tour Ken. I was at your museum December 2018 with my daughter and her fiancé. They live in Carmel NY as a treat the drove me to Rockville. Dale was in Glenview I’ll where I grew up and currently live. There was a man who collected junk up and down the Northshore and had all kinds a treasure in a huge pole barn. The find is on UA-cam. Wheels thought time is a great museum too. Your museum is great too. Yours also has the Beautiful mill buildings that are historic in themselves. You asked me why did I pick your museum to visit when there was one much closer to NY. I told you I was a fan of yours. Yours is an opportunity for someone to watch it grow from the ground up which is awful cool.
Matt is an awesome guy. We went to the museum as part of my 45th birthday. I was able to chat with him while he was having a quick lunch outside. My friends and I had a great time. He is the genuine article. Really wish I could have met his father Dale. RIP. Youre right, a must see!!!
Couldn't agree more!
That’s awesome dude what a journey 👀👍🏻😎🇺🇸
I see five five dislikes? Who the hell r these people? Just cannot wrap my head around that?????
I can’t either Ann, it just bewilders me every time. Some truly miserable people out there I guess.
@@Patrick_B687-3 Agreed. Anyone who dislikes these videos are simply unamerican and miserable. Thumbs down to them!
Could be accidentally hitting dislike while scrolling. I sometimes hit ❤️ when hitting read more 🙄. I agree, how could you dislike this!

Fascinating! And he knows all about them. Thanks Ken and Christie for showing us this!
The holy grail motorcycle museum must go there before I die
yea me to and newengland motor museum.
Me too. Honestly had no idea about the early bikes until last summers videos. Learned about spark advance engines. And I MUST ride one before I die!!
Too much to soak up in one viewing.
This is one to watch over snd over.
Amazing history and Matt sure knows his stuff. You 2 are so passionate , Christie too. She’s great with that camera, 👍.
I have no words to how special this video and that museum is. Unbelievable Ken.
Thank you for sharing sir
Incredible i didnt think this many of these vintage race bikes, hillclimb bikes, and earliest historical bikes could exist in such quantity in one location!!!! 10 months too late watching an incredible tour video!
Twin cam and 4 cylinder all sounds recent in bikes, but hell no, it all happened long long ago!
That was the best hour of bike footage I have ever had the privilege to watch!
Thanks to matt and his late dad dale (RIP) for all the hard work and time for putting this great place together, for future generations to enjoy and to learn our motorcycling history, well done!!
Thanks to ken & Christie for an awesome glimpse in to the past !
There's a lot of beautiful bikes and a lot of history in each and every bike
Much thanks Matt, Ken, and Christie. That museum is spectacular. Really enjoyed the camera work and listening to Matt speak about the motorcycles. Gonna watch this one many more times!🇺🇸✌🏻
yes it a great video but it would been better i could hear other guy talking. it too low
Love yalls channel not to many can compare
Man you and Matt together is so spectacular!!! A month ago in thinking wow all I watch is the Wheels of time museum channel and the Kaplan museum and motorcycle channel and it would be a dream come true if Ken Kaplan and Matt Walksler knew eachother and got together so because mr. Kaplan since you and your wonderful Christie have done such amazing good work making these videos me and I imagine many other guys and gals are in a dream watching these magnificent videos!!! Thanks Mr. Kaplan!!!
Thank you Carl!
Wow what a passionate man he is with his motorcycles. Amazing
Excellent video. The young man knows his motorcycles. Thanks 👍👍👍
I go to wheels through time museum every year at least once for the last 10 years it’s awesome Rip Dale
What a great great 👍 collection and the museum is so authentic and beautiful
On my bucket list to places to ride to. Anyone who loves motorcycles knows we can never repay the Walkslers enough for the motorcycle history they have preserved.
Thank you for what you started Dale.
Very cool place kap💪😎
God bless America 🇺🇸
Wow, so much history. Fun stuff. This knowledge must be preserved.
I knew of Dale and remember the tv show. Thank goodness for Dale.
I am completely just blown away 😳
When you are born into this you gain information....it is like that for anybody who lives with someone like Dale Walksler......Dale was 100 percent into every bike at the museum...they were a part of him.....i spent a few days with Dale and Matt while cutting the Wheels through Time Wounded Warrior episode.
(at that time it was winter 2014) and are completely about the 300 plus bikes....today I am sure they acquired many more!!!
Great place to visit.
Now this is a museum!
its amazing - this guy knows everything - great place
Wow... Great video.. Been there walked the whole thing. And I learned more from the video..love it
God bless you Matt!!! It's a dream to see you guys all together . God bless Sr.
Thank you. Your museum is spectacular. 👍🏼
Thanks for putting up all the great content!
Welcome to the mountains brother you should check roan mountain tn beautiful place!! love your videos as well as Matt's videos at wheels through time R.I.P DALE he meant the world too the motorcycle community and will be forever known & missed
Excellent, excellent, excellent. Thanks to all involved in making this video.
Nice. Private stroll through some of the nicest race bikes ever. Perks of the job I guess! You are blessed. Good work Sir!
And there's a scooter sitting right in the entrance. It always makes me happy to see genuine petrol heads give a nod to scooters. It's still probably only England, Italy, Germany and Spain who create race machines out of them, but they deserve a place at the table just on aesthetics alone.
Just made reservations today for late April trip/vacation to Maggie Valley. Can’t wait to experience the museum!
Love the passion and videos!
I had the honor of talking with Matt on a visit with my sister and brother in law. Super nice dude . Dale wasn't around at the time and now of course he's sadly passed away ..So I'd like to give my condolences to Matt and all his family. The place is absolutely crammed with American motorcycling history. We absolutely love the place and hope to visit again one day.👍😎🇺🇸
All those teens era bikes are amazing, they're more like pieces of art now. A good series to watch is the wheels through time UA-cam channel and harley and the Davidson's.
My dad rides a 78 shovel head 74 in I believe and I have a 98 fat boy... love the content guys! Thank you for your efforts!!
Bring a tear to the eyes
I love that you have drain pans under all of these bikes and that they all run, awesome museum!
Dale must have been so proud of his son. Matt really learned at the knee of the master, and it shows. This museum is a national treasure. Thanks so much for making this video.
Very interesting vid ken, i could easily spend a few days in there, especially if matt was walking me through, very cool guy. Cheers lads, keep up the good work!
Smiling!
Been a rider for almost 60 years, and this place is awesome. I like the ingenuity of the people making mine car, ice cutters, snow mobiles, jet skis. Also been a computer person forever and a screen saver called After Dark had a saying of, (Our Creator, Evident by Out Creativity) I thought, Amen.
That is crazy. I'm born and raised in muskegon,mi. Mt. Garfield is 10 minutes from me they still run the hill climb. That is awesome
That orange flat tracker ,what a stunning looking bike ! just love the bare minimum look of those competition machines .Those men who raced around those board tracks at full tilt must of had balls of steel , what an amazing sight that must of been in the day .
I have got to make a trip to Wheel's Through Time this spring/summer. Was there in 2012 when they were closed. great video - enjoying your trek around the country. Excellent tour.
Awesome you have the coolest job in the whole world
Amazing Museum beautiful bikes and an awesome story. Thank you for the grand tour Ken.
Wow just AMAZING!!! Just imagine how much money is sitting on that property not to mention the history! So cool!!👍
Awesome awesome video, thanks 🤙😎
This is awesome! my mind is completely blown away!👍🏍
Great video. Been following the The museum for a while now but great to take a look around with Matt. Dales legacy will be long lived I’m sure
I saw a herderson excelsior in australia in 1970. I thought it was an english bike. Appreciate your content and hope you guys have a great trip
This is great history. Thanks for sharing 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Man (I think) this is the same guy I met a long time ago at Sturgis. This guy is well-connected very knowledgeable.. He can help you find anything you're looking for Harley related and he enjoys doing it.. I'm like 95% sure this is that same guy. I like how he has the original rubber tires something about a bike that's one hundred percent original down to the brake pads is just really cool
in regards to all the videos that Matt has narrated on you tube regarding the history of a specific bike and firing it up and watching of few of Dale's videos,....this place can NEVER get old. Ken,..that was an awesome tour/video....with alot of insight and history on top of history.... as mentioned before...I can't wait to get down there in May...and hope to get a chance to me Matt in person.... !!!!!
So looking forward to seeing it all!
750cc broadtrackers history is crazy. On original tyres 130mph. They were either radio rental or had elephant balls in those days. How they rode them with no brakes or clutch direct drive. Wow. Im addicted to wheels in time and what Dale did is absolutely great.
I have been there a couple of times and it's always evolving! I regret that I did not personally meet Dale but he was busy with others and I just didn't push my way into the conversation. I could see and hear his passion for the old bikes that many were thrown away back in the day because technology was making it seem like they would never be worth keeping!
Yeah big thank you to the matt and his dad. He must've been an incredible man.
It means alot to me that you guys shared this. Just awesome!
Love how he just spun the rear wheel on that Henderson and it fired right up. Impressive.
i love seeing bikes run in muskegon i lived here all my life and get to see new hill climbers every 2 years but to get to see almost 100 yr old hill climbers is awesome
This was cool, thanks for the virtual tour 👍🏼
MATT is my hero and we can’t thank him enough for sharing with us
What a wonderful video been there twice love that place
Been there ! Fantastic place to visit, bring something motorcycle related, & donate it. I did, makes you feel great !
Thanks for all the knowledge you and your dad Dale have taught me over the videos. Learned about things like spark advance engines that I had no idea they worked like that. Really want to ride one one day. Matt, you are an amazing knoweglable guy who was taught by THE BEST! I know your dad is an eternal part of the meusem and you. You will feel him beside you Everytime you are there. And he will be looking on beaming with pride and love.
...one more wunderful place. Thank you for posting this great vid.🏍🏁☮
I think a Wheels Through Time to New England MM motorcycle trip is a bucket list idea for me and a buddy of mine
Everybodys place. I hope to meet you someday Matt. Thanks for sharing.
Wow what a great place ☺️
Fascinating video! Haven’t seen anything on UA-cam this good in quite a while.
WOW! Outstanding work Ken love this series! That is an unbelievable collection and the history is wicked cool on these bike.
Great preview of a place I have vowed to be in to experience this year! I love this stuff - thanks for bringing it to life!
Wicked tour guys. I wanna hear & see em all run now
Log onto there youtube they all there
My boss Charles Wellons, owner of Durham, NC Harley Davidson loaned me an XR 750 bike owned by Evel to run local dirt drags...Never lost a race while running the bike. I wonder where this bike is now...Charles had an impressive collection of Harleys back in 1980 before he died. Yall need Keenan Tatro's Land speed record Harley single cylinder in the collection now. Sorry yall but Indian had the twin cam(Gear driven) before Harley Davidson.
Awesome video! What a wealth of knowledge!
Amazing historic collection. 👍🏻
According to the EK Historians, the XR750 is a John Steel replica, not a bike Evel actually jumped
Cameron, you are 100% correct! Lathan McKay, half owner of The Evel Knievel Museum in Topeka Kansas, was good friends with Dale and his son. Lathan was involved with the build, he recently told me about it.
Looking at the hill climbing bikes gets me AMPED UP!
I was there recently, Bob White showed me around. He's great in fact the whole place is so cool. I bought a ticket for the '37 knucklehead.
Amazing Motorcycles, Awesome Legacy!
I have watched this video about three times I was born in Herrin IL and remember going to Swims with my dad as a boy which was still in business and I loved going to the shop and just wishing I had one of those motorcycle to ride like Matt my dad would let me steer the bike when it was a good stretch to reach from one grip to the other and I had a few dealings with Dale in Mt Vernon IL one hell of a guy GBU later
Been over 20 years but I remember going through the museum when it was in Mount Vernon..love that coke chopper
Did you know David Lee Murphy
its a place you never wanna leave
ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW AND THANKS
Matt is such a good dude.👍
Wow kk with Matt from wheels through time I often wondered if u guys knew each other
I bought a Cb 1100 from Dreyer Motercycles in Indianapolis Indian, and they had one of pop dreyer bikes on display, a great honest dealership, highly recommend
I'm picking up a Ferrari with a friend in Charlotte on Thursday and hauling off to the Tail that day -- Wish we could drop by and check out the museum but its closed until April 1st. I ride a BMW F850GSA and R1200GSA all over the world -- like everywhere. I guess, next time...
If you call and buy a lifetime membership I think they might give you a private tour.. its worth it.
What be Badass you two get together at the Kaplan compound and combine the two museums but separate collections.
