You and your husband are doing a wonderful job with your son. You're also great role models for your nephews. I know how hard it can be raising a child with autism, but they are such a blessing and it allows you to see life through a completely different lens.

I don't understand why there's so much negativity in the comments. Your videos always make me pick up my mood & feel more positive.

    • @Mrs.AlbaRamos
      @Mrs.AlbaRamos  9 років тому +91

No, It's ok Hun, the way I see it... I only saw about 3 negative comments out of thousands of positive ones. Its only natural to happen. In any large group of people there's always 2-5 folks who are only here to disagree and spread their negativity and the rest are here to respectfully share their opinions, not judge and spread positivity. Being I have more positivity than negativity I don't focus on those 3 people who commented negatively. I instead focus on comments like yours and thousands of others who have good intentions.

I was moved to comment on this vlog b/c I'm so very impressed with your and your husband's diligence towards clean eating and clean living however impossible, it may be. Your strength and courage in maintaining as chemical-free a life as possible and preparing your body to nurture a new life is remarkable. I wish you and Manny much success in your journey towards a healthy and happy family.

Thank you for sharing the resources. I passed them along to a family that could use them. I love how open you two are about everything that is happening and sharing your journey with Little Manny. He is just blossoming! There is a school for students with challenges in White Plains that I'm sure you already know about it. It has a great reputation.

+uptownflavor Also, did you determine that Manny Jr. was more a product of environmental factors or genetic? (I hope that wasn't too personal. If you don't feel comfortable answering it then skip it.)

+Manuel Ramos we would like to know the answer to this question please! We are also so interested to learn more about your teaching methods with little Manny and more about the other things that worked for you! My son is about the same age going to first class of primary but in school the phycologist says he may has some characteristics of autism, though not sure yet! I disagree with her cause I see the progress he has done! But I wanna help him more to be concentrated ! We are very interested to learn more since you guys research it so much!

Hi Alba & Manuel! I'm super new to your UA-cam channel (as in I just discovered you in my Recommended Videos section [or whatever it's called] in the past hour or so) & I'm obsessed w/ how amazing the two of you & your family are. I'm very much into an eco-friendly/Earth conscious/organic lifestyle as well in various respects, so it's pretty refreshing to discover UA-camrs like yourselves. Evolving (especially daily) into the best version of yourself is one of the highest lifetime achievements I believe a person could ever aspire towards. Of course, when evolving into the best version of yourself, those of us who are wise & teachable (ever-learning) know that replacing/growing out of poor habits (i.e. lifestyle-wise) is a true sign of maturity, so kudos to you for growing wiser.
Your son, Manny, is incredibly exceptional & will continue to be so! Definitely be encouraged along your journey w/ his autism b/c God's got each of you! Continue to shine & inspire, remaining true to yourselves always + you'll continue to soar/thrive in life!

I have to admit that my heart sank when I saw that coat with the fur at the end of the video when you were shopping in the mall. I was hoping you wouldn't buy it since it appeared to be real fur. When you said that it looked like faux fur but turned out to be real fur and so you wouldn't buy it, I felt so proud of you and so grateful for the wonderful example that you are setting. Thank you! You really do live an organic and cruelty free life. Your son is lucky to have you and your husband as parents. You seem to sacrifice a lot for him and I know you must do it out of love - it's clear to see.

Thank you for your honesty & positivity. I also don't understand all the hate/negativity that some people say. You have a beautiful family. It's funny that you said that re: NY & CA (the part where you said when you left NY, you liked being away, but coming back & it's different in a better way)...Reason why I brought that up is because my fiancé & I are almost in a similar situation where we moved from our home, Atlanta, GA up to Philly. And, after being in Philly for several years, we're more than ready to move back to our hometown (Atlanta) & it's a different better feeling. :)

I recently stumbled across your hair videos which I love but I wanted to say this video is great. I'm sure it's hard for you but it's wonderful that you shared about your son's autism. It's encouraging for anyone in a similar situation, also for mommies in general and other types of caregivers to see that it's possible and important to make time to care of yourself. Sometimes you need to know there are others out there going through similar struggles as you. And most importantly, it's wonderful that your husband is so active in your videos. This positivity and wholesome family life you display is very important for the young girls and women who follow you . keep up the good work.

Wow thanks for sharing! I have been watching your videos for over a year and I never knew your son was autistic. My son was diagnosed with autism when he was 6 (he turns 10 in 2 weeks!). My husband and I are doing similar things to you (he is on a gluten/wheat and dairy free diet, we only drink filtered water, he is on a range on supplements, his food is cooked in stainless steel pots/pans etc) but it's so nice to get new ideas. We are from London and we find that there isn't as much available here but we do the best we can. My son sees a speech therapist and we are starting an ABA program for him (have you looked into that?)...I found Jenny Mcarthy's book 'Mother Warriors' absolutely fantastic and inspiring. It's so refreshing to see this video! Keep doing what your doing! Xx

I love your guys. You all inspire me to do better and be better. I am learning so much from the things you share. I thnk you are doing such a great job as parents. And I think it's wonderful that you all let little Manny write on the walls because there's nothing a little paint can't fix, but your can never get a child to open up and redirect if you shut them down from their creative expression. Because my son didn't speak completely until he was four years old, him now beeing 10 I have never told him to "shut up" or "be quiet" because I never want him to feel like he can't speak ever again. People think I'm crazy, but even his wanna be rapping about school stuff, or jumping around saying thank you, Jesus, because he got a new car or a new game, or just a favorite snack. People sometimes say "Te'Jion be on 100" and I LOVE it. Anyway, thank you so much; Alba and Big Manny for sharing your lives with us. I love seeing a new upload and I try to watch and support always

Yes hunny!!! I definitely can relate! I have 2 kids with Autism (6yrs & 3yrs). 3 yrs ago we moved from PR to FL just so our son could get a better help because he didn't say anything. Once we got here, he was diagnosed with Autism, Speech & Development Delay and Hyperism. As soon as we got to FL he started getting Speech, OT and ABA Therapy and the difference is amazing! Doctor's tried to push us to get him on pills and medicine because he just likes to bolt/run away but we said NO! As of right now, they are both doing so good in their therapies and school, I thank God everyday for having those 2 special gifts and seeing and understanding the world thru their eyes. Since we have had some scary situations already (like really bad, thanks to his running), we are getting him a Autism Service Dog, which we are all really excited!
Siempre recuerda que Dios no le da cargas a personas que no puedan manejarlo! Lucky for us, we got lucky and blessed at the same time!

Sharing is truly caring! Obviously, everyone has different personal& religious beliefs but as a believer I know that our trials&tribulatons are all meant to bring glory to the most high. I have had certain health discoveries lately & I found myself being scared to share. But I know that it's not just about me but rather about how I overcome & able to help others. So I appreciate you willing to share. Stay encouraged and blessings will follow xox.

Great vlog! Thanks for sharing you all's story for who you all are and why you all moved back to New York. Beautiful family, including Manny's nephews. What's your opinion on Brita or Pur? I want to get a filter for the kitchen sink and the hard water on the freezer I have.

I love that you are making more vlogs! I would deff love to see what you would usually get when food shopping, since its hard to be healthy for me in a dominican household. lol also would you tell us where you get your glass pots from?
Thank you so much! I think its great you encourage manny to draw on the walls, Im not sure if chalk is safe, but have you thought of paint a wall using the chalk board paint. If thats not safe I just found some cool color pencils by crayola that have an eraser in case he runs out of space. xoxo

I think its great that you share all these resources. In the past three years I developed alopecia areata, severe asthma, eczema, and allergies. I changed my diet (gluten free for a year now) but Im trying to ensure I have all the essential nutrients daily. I also think environment plays a role. Everyone is affected by things around them, not just those who have really obvious issues like children with autism, etc. I am going to check out molecule because I do need to think about the water I'm drinking.

I can relate to the whole one year move experience. I left my home town and family last year and moved to another country for a year. It was a good experience but I was so happy and appreciative of my home once I came back :)

I know you explained some of it being about your son( I think...correct me if I'm wrong!) but I would love to hear the full story. You have a beautiful family :)

Would really love a recipe series or even a separate channel dedicated to how and what you eat. I would really love to start eating strictly organic but it's intimidating and daunting having no idea where to start. Really look up to you guys :)

I love the info you share my cousin has a son who is autistic. I like how you guys discuss diet but feel it is really hard for people who are on a lower income to afford to be at organic since it is twice as much as regular food. I know my cousin definitely couldn't afford to go organic because she has 7 kids and does not make a lot of money. Food stamps are only given once a month so mist people buy what they can get more bang for the buck that is going to last for a month.

I applaud you guys for the effort you are making to live a cleaner life. Toxins are all around and while you cannot get rid of them all the most important thing to do is to lower the total load. I drink filtered water (though I need to seriously upgrade my filter) and use my air purifier when I remember but I'm not all organic ( I don't live in a big city or even a big town so having access to organic food and products is very hard not to mention expensive). I'm just not there yet but I plan to be...

Hi Alba! Love love love your vlogs! I always feel like I'm getting a treat during the days you upload haha! Anywho, can you tell me the name of the organic Adobo that you use on the chicken or where I can find it. I still use the regular adobo with the red top that are sold in regular grocery stores. I've been trying to find a healthier version of that as well as for Sazon but I can't seem to find anything, might have to make my own. Thanks so much! Peace & love
