Crested Hens is a modern French Tune that has become fairly popular among some of the folk musicians in Colorado. I'm not sure how popular the tune is in other regions, but a lot of people in Colorado seem to play it often. It is a tune that can be played at a variety of different tempos, and I think it sounds particularly nice played slowly. It's a great tune to learn as a beginner, and it gets you used to using an extended 3rd finger for the D# that pops up occasionally! =)
There is something very lilting about this tune's B part. I think it must be the sudden D# that gives tune so much character. It makes the tune sound so beautiful and unique. I haven't really heard a tune like it before.
I've also played this tune more similar to a jig recently, and I think I might have started to mix up the different variations slightly while teaching this tutorial. I think the tempo is slow enough to where it doesn't create too much confusion, but it was something I noticed as I tried to edit this tutorial together. I'm sorry if it does create confusion... =( All the notes are there! =)
I have quite a lot of music stuff planned this summer, and it's all starting up in 2 weeks! I can't believe it! :D
I'll probably talk more about those things when I finish setting them up. ^_^
Thank you for watching and I hope you have fun practicing! ^_^

Bad lesson...sorry...It's so hard hard to follow you, the angle of the fingerboard, the direction...I'm sorry. I already play it, but I hadn't played it in 6 or 7 years...What's with the high 4th finger? Just zip down to high e, and do a string crossover...Anyway. thanks...
