Every team fears India's pace bowling attack at home and away. Virat is a legend as a Indian Test captain and also it was Dhoni who knew Virat was the right man to lead India in Tests when the world saw how Indian team approached the test vs Australia in Kohli's captaincy debut. Yes, India lost but India gave a tough fight. Dhoni gracefully retired and handed the reins to Kohli and rest is history for Indian Cricket.
Under his captaincy, we were leading 2-1 in England and lost under Bumrah and drew 1-1 in SA and lost 1 under Rahul 🙌🏻

Agreed we never won ICC trophies but the aggression and passion he brought in the test format, no one did it before. I would put him number one all time Indian test captain. It’s very unfortunate we never won ICC trophy under him but that doesn’t take anything away from him being one of the greatest captain of Indian cricket history. And I believe it’s good decision of him leaving captaincy. Because now his own performance is getting better. No matter how aggressive nature he is but one thing we all should respect that how peacefully and without causing any drama he left the captaincy even board did dirty to him. He behaved completely opposite from his nature and didn’t create any havoc while leaving captaincy. He’s King for a reason 🤴

Rohit lost a home world cup after rigging the pitch( I don't mind rigging the pitch but jeet to jao lmao) in Ahmadabad NM stadium in front of 130K people. And up until the final everyone said Rohit kills the game in the powerplay and VK plays slow and selfish innings. And in final they realised how important was kohli's wicket, wanted him to stay till last over. The pitch was horrible horrible. In 2019 semi final Kohli conceded only 238 runs against NZ and batters including Rohit shitted in their pants not to forget Kohli got out on an Umpires call. So it means VK captained better in 2019 sf than Rohit in 2023 final and the world cup was in England. Sometimes I feel its all karma of what he has been through. He has won everything an ODI WC, Asia cups (t20I and Odi) champions trophy 2013 ,test maces, 3POTT trophies. only t20IWC and he will complete the cricket.

Reason he was forced to leave became an issue which was not the case in MSD to Virat's captaincy transition. And reality is , MS used to be too much strict on his decision and everyone has to follow, from management to selectors even Virat had that to some extent but after Virat left ,that sting operation of a BCCI officials where he said Virat have been forced by BCCI officials like Sourav Ganguly to leave the captaincy. And that never happened before, even at Ms captaincy period, sting operation were more common, still Nothing came out.

You got all the facts right except one. During the fifth Test during the 2021 tour of England, it was the BCCI who were insisting on rescheduling the last Test, because the second half of IPL was due to start the other week and it was higher on their priority.
If you listen to Ravi Shastri's interview with Sky during the 2022 rescheduled Test, he mentioned that he and Virat wanted to wrap up the series but the board had another agenda in mind. That's where the tussle started between Ganguly and Virat.

Talking about 2021, what he could if team didn't perform well, moreover the matches were mostly toss decided and he lost 2 tosses in 2 important matches. His captaincy was on point in later end of his career especially in tests.

Virat was a tremendous leader. He could motivate the team and gave befitting reply to the opponents. Not many could do this. The only thing he lacked was strategy. Virat was very poor in terms of team selection, bowling changes and was heavily dependent on MS. In most of the ICC finals - we always had the wrong team.
Rohit is no different. Might be a good captain but again - lacks strategy.
I guess we need to have someone who can advise the captain and create a strategy. The current team management is mediocre.
If he was heavily dependent on dhoni then it means dhoni doesn't take good decisions and also dhoni doesn't see any spark in kohli.

Here's the thing....during 2020-21 it felt like Kohli had a lot of pressure on him as the Indian captain and his dip of form during the period of time was painful to watch.....maybe if he did become a bit egoistic, teaching a lesson might have helped him....however this decision actually ended up benifiting both parties tbh, BCCI got their own way, Rohit might be handling the pressure better....but Virat gained the most out of this situation, because he feels reborn, and in the form of his life, this WC might just be his best one ❤👑 I still feel he should have remained test captain

When i hear former IND players say "Dada ne hme jeetna sikhaya", i use to literally think ki hmne 1 test match agar draw kra liya yaa jeet gye away series me wo kitni badi baat hoti thi logo k liye. Actually me IND test team got recognition under VK. Remember that tour of 2014 Aus, when MS stepped down in mid of the series as captain, VK was made captain, the way he performed throughout the series was exceptional. Think about the tremendous pressure he must have felt on that tour!! The coarse of Ind test team started to change from there, we can so close to beat SA in 2017/2018. We beat Aus for first time in their home under VK. We could have won 3-2 against Eng in 2018( lost 2 close matches). And look at the stats of VK in these series. Even in 2021 we took a lead of 2-1 against Eng under his captaincy. And even this time also we could have beat SA in their home(2-1). We played 2019 Semifinals under him and Wtc final 2021. Both we lost because of the batting collapses. Only 2021 t20 WC is a point where unfortunately things didn't go well. The fast bowling of Ind test team improved drastically under VK. For me he would be remembered for all of this.❤❤❤
