Think about it like this, even not taking into account the ships she sunk, her story alone is certified badass in the mind of an anime fan. Enterprise was there from the very beginning, and witnessed the end of peacetime with the destruction of Pearl Harbor. She distinguished herself as the Hero of Midway, and near-singlehandedly changed the course of the entire war. One by one her sisters died until she was the sole survivor of the class, and at one point was the only operational carrier in the entire pacific ocean still fighting the Japanese (Enterprise vs. Japan). She participated in almost every major naval engagement of the Pacific Campaign, cheating death and earning the nickname the Grey Ghost. After claiming so many firsts, it was only natural that Enterprise would rise above all others to become the most decorated U.S. ship in WW2. Her last mission would be helping to ferry her fellow soldiers and sailors back home to enjoy peacetime once again.
Enterprise's story is MADE for anime.

Well with the official Anime on the horizon, I wonder if that's why they made it.
I think this song really describes her. She faced so many hardships and lost many friends including Yorktown and Hornet, both her sisters. With determination, she became stronger to face her challenges to grasp world peace but we don't know what happened after that. That is when we as commanders came in. She thought she would need to fight more now but realised the gift that we all gave her. Yorktown and Hornet were there and so as many other shipgirls living peacefully. As she saw the warmth that was given, she couldn't help but smile and cry for it is not world peace that she wanted but love. Hence why she cherished her time with them and us. For she loves the world that we gave her. Perhaps even a life of love as well.
Exactly. It's in line with her in-game lines, including her oath lines. Yes, she truly wants world peace, but she tires of fighting and wants to live a life of peace, one filled with love between her and her Commander.

This song, to me, perfectly illustrates who Enterprise is. And specifically why she fears the ocean. She doesn’t fear the ocean itself. She sees it as war. A battlefield. She fears watching her friends and sisters die, that she’ll become her alternate self due to loss and becoming numb to war and violence. “The color of tears”, to me, it references the tear Arizona shed, and still does to this day, for Pearl. It also represents the tears Enterprise shed that day. She’d come home, saved by fate due to a storm that delayed her, to arrive the next morning to find her home ablaze, and death at every turn. She fears that she is only a weapon, doomed to live and watch time and time again, with every reincarnation, her friends die, and sink ships. Living as a weapon in the ghostly grey world of war. Yet she still cries, that she is called every time war scorches our shores. She cries for the horizon she hopes to see: a peaceful world, living a normal, happy life with her sisters. Where she is more than a weapon. Behind the stoic persona, and the mighty legend of The Grey Ghost, is a ship that longs-that weeps-for peace.
The song perfectly emphasize the way Enterprise perceive the world, a monochrome. I also felt the strong feeling of her wanting something to break her world for a glint of colour. And so, this song make me realize how desperate Code G (or Alterprise) really is just to meet her Shikikan again.
PTSD, trauma and losing her technical family will do that.

@@8elementallords Sadly, the most recent nuclear model of Enterprise was decommissioned in the last decade, if I recall correctly. Because it was nuclear-powered and because it was the last of the Enterprise model, it could not be remade nor kept as a museum despite the importance of Enterprise in history.
Like you said, they reuse ship names, however. There will be a different kind of ship that will inherit the name Enterprise, but it’s not the same model, and it is truly sad that such a lucky ship had to disappear.
Ishikawa Yui is a goddess. I'm so glad she's doing Enterprise, one of the greatest ships ever built. Also the song is perfect.
I may not have the honor of a family member serving aboard The Big E as her legend was being made, but my dad served aboard her successor CVN-65 Enterprise on her last tours before her decommission.

If I may, I would like to make a few observations. As an old man and an amateur historian, I firmly believe ships have souls. While this is not subject to any sort of scientific verification, that being said, consider this:
Through every iteration of the name “Enterprise”, men served and fought. Their ships fought in turn to keep them alive. Where did all that “Blood, sweat and tears” go? Into the ships and into the men.
There is a reason that “Azur Lane the Animation” characterized Enterprise as “The strongest Eagle Union carrier”. All of the above was distilled into CV-6. The developers and animators recognized her. Not just the ship but her SOUL as a warrior.
Before anyone decides to troll me, yes I am a romantic and yes, I watch anime .I stumbled across AltA on UA-cam while researching naval history videos.
Yes, it was a tragedy CV-6, the Iron Lady of the Pacific wasn’t saved from the breakers, however, where do you think all of that Warrior Spirit went? It was in her steel. In her heart, if you will. Her fantail with “USS Enterprise” was saved. Her bell was saved. Portholes from her went into CVN-65. Those portholes and thousands of tons of steel from CVN-65 are being used for CVN-80.
The U.S. Navy remembers. We remember. Enterprise still lives, ladies and gentlemen.

Azur Lane may be a gacha game with fan service, but that’s just the surface. Dig deeper and you realize and appreciate the storytelling and liberties the writers took in humanizing these ships in more than just appearance. The ships being human helps people not familiar with them, connect and sympathize with them: The death of Hood and revenge that killed Bismarck. The attack on Pearl, along with the death of Pennsylvania and Arizona, who carriers around a handkerchief because she still cries for the men and women that perished. The death of Yorktown, who gives her Eagle, Grim, to Enterprise before she and Hamman sink. The death of Hornet and wrath of Enterprise aginst Sakura Empire for taking so much from her. A wrath that earns her the nickname, Grey Ghost. Them being human makes you cry harder, and cheer louder for their history. Something I appreciate. Because to some, these real life ships are as human and alive as the girls in this game.
This song already has got stuck in my head. It made me picture Enterprise singing and even seeing myself as the commander to be with her since that's what she needs, love, peace and to have someone at her side.
I've been going through the lyrics and I'm pretty sure that the commander is "the one" for Enterprise. Like we are the one that she will always choose. "It has to be you" "I am crazy for you" etc. The chorus definitely feels like Enterprise singing alone to herself about the commander (us) and how she wants us to take notice of her and choose her above anyone else.

I simply love Enterprise, she's a great character and I love the history behind the ship. Especially also because my father when he was still in the Navy, he was aboard the Enterprise when I was growing up, so I really feel a connection to the ship, and I simply love it!

The perception is that this song is Enterprise to the Commander, but I honestly think it could be for us or Belfast if you’ve seen the anime. Celebrated my and Enty's first oathversary on the day of the 2nd Anniversary stream when they played this song again. First introduced to Enty watching the 1976 Midway movie when I was early in Elementary school. When I started watching the History Channel Docuseries "Battle: 360" a few years later she became my favorite warship and eventually fell in love with her story. When I was scrolling through the Play Store I happened to find the game, naturally curious as to what USS Enterprise looks like in the game (not realizing that she's the face of it) I started playing at the beginning of the Nep collab. Unfortunately shortly after I had to drop the game as my phone at the time was crap. Eventually I came back after the Kizuna collab and it took until last summer in Hawaii where I got all three Yorktown sisters. A few weeks later when Enty became my first ship to reach 100 affinity she became my first oathed ship. Now she is officially my number one waifu with the Azur Lane anime being aired.

I watched a preview of this at the panel and had literal chills. I had to listen to the full version
Remembering Pearl Harbor on Dec 7th. I can only imagine the wrath awakened within her. The day she’d set sail to fight in the war, she’d set the record in the U.S. Navy for the fastest time a crew prepared a ship to sail. Her being an aircraft carrier no less, would be the first of her long list of feats. Enterprise doesn’t need a Navy to fight you. You need a Navy to survive *her*.

She was a ship who saw the destruction of many carriers even both of her sisters but no matter what she took their spirit with her and fought on with them

Respect enterprise for without her, we could have lost the Second World War and Azur lane probably would have never existed

The anime was great. Looking forward to season 2. What I love the most about this song is that the lady singing it actually voices Enterprise in the Anime. Which that is very cool

Dang son Yostar is probably one of the few game developers left that actually care about their game and the people eho play there game.

Funny thing is when I heard her say "Owari Da!" the first time, she actually reminded me of Sigma, the recurring final boss from Megaman X series. Because in the Japanese Dub of that series you can tell if a given attack he's about to use will hurt a lot (or just straight up one hit kill) or not by Sigma saying that exact phrase.
