Thanks so much for this! There’s a real lack of good resources for people trying to learn this rather daunting rule set! We’ve learned to use the “rules in the box” for most Labat games, simply because that’s how they playtested the scenarios originally. In particular, Quatre Bras just doesn’t work unless you use the 3rd edition rules it comes with.

The 1st edition of QB did come with 3rd edition rules and command control rules in the scenario booklet. It has been a few years since I played QB, but it should work with the newer rule sets.

Eric, this is well done. Just now reviewing 5th edition in preparation for Tempe. As always, proper tactical and operational usage of major arms and formations is the greatest challenge. I have a ways to go.

Glad you enjoyed this. The various "Tactics Talks" that Brennan and I have presented give good examples of how to best deploy your forces.

Very useful Eric. We’ve got a full battle game of Ligny kicking off at a UK tourney in just over a week. There will be 5-6 players and we hope to get through the game over 3 days of playing. I pointed the gang towards the workshop. Hopefully it will be useful to them. I’ve not played 5th edition but it looks to be a bit smoother in terms of activation the ML rules we used with QB 2nd edition. I have the cards ready to go 😎

Hey ho from Potsdam Germany (former Prussia😆) I own Dresde and Moint Saint Jean. Wich of both you would recommend as a better entrypoint from scenarioside? I am not sure to learn 5th or ML first is the better option. Greetings

Welcome! The Dresden scenarios might be easier for a beginner. The British and allied troops at MSJ have many special exceptions.
