Usually, the Super Mutant Twins from across the canal before Grandma's meat shack has a guarantee minigun spawn, you just have to kill one of them for it or punch it out of their hands. Tenpenny tower also has a high chance for minigun spawn, but the ammo is far pricier that wasteland standards. Rushing through the main story is just a waste of levels?
I try to avoid killing/damaging NPCs to get the weapon if possible to stay true to the challenge I feel ya on rushing, but this was just a silly challenge that I wanted to see completed. I’m making more use of side quests in my current challenges, but usually it also coincides with what faction/playstyle (more so new Vegas)
It's been a very long time but I mostly remember a way to get a minigun pretty early on. After exiting vault 101 head straight past megaton and close to a super duper mart controlled by raiders there should be a river. Somewhere along this river not too far away there will be raiders on one side and the opposite side that you arrive on will have supermutants probably fighting the raiders. One of these supermutants I believe can spawn with a minigun. Additionally somewhere along that river not too far away there is a blown out building being occupied by super mutants and the supermutant at the very top has a minigun. And another heavy weapon a flamer specifically (Because I was reminded of this one) can be found just to your left after exiting vault 101 on top of a bridge. After fighting through a number of raiders at the very end of the bridge there will be a raider that always spawns with a flamer. If I remember correctly mole rats do like to hang out underneath this bridge and you can use them as a quick way to dismount the bridge rather than walking all the way back. By leaping off the bridge and falling into Melee vets range, performing that melee vats will avoid all fall damage.
That’s really awesome to know! Maybe I’ll be able to incorporate it into a future video! :) Yeah this one was tough. Just with getting a mini gun without killing any actual NPCs before hand. Looking back I wish I mapped out potential super mutant mini gun spawns for the sake of repair and ammo lmao
as long as youtube doesn’t give us the age restriction like everybody else doing fallout these days, we in business
Hopefully we’re good 😂
