    What do you guys think of SilverFast and What software do you use for your home scanning? Let's get a discussion going 😋

      Maybe the 35mm film holders can be adjusted in height as Nick Carver shows to give a better focus for each individual scanner?

      @@thetreehunter I personally havent testing it out yet but I certainly will look into it :P - I just find that the lab does a great job saving me time and delivering the highest quality possible. Theres just a so much a $600 scanner can do especially with smaller negative spcae.

    Hey which scanner do you suggest for 35mm? I've been using the v600 with epson scan. And just now starting to dabble with silverfast. Quite the noticeable difference! Great channel bro

    I just got a V600 and trying to decide on Silverfast 9SE or SEPlus... it appears you went with the SE, not the plus. Is there a reason you feel you didn't need the plus? I'm so amateur I can hardly pronounce scanner so apologies if this is a dumb question :)
    Goal: .. I ended up with a lot of old family negatives (35mm and 110, a few 120) and my only goal is to share digitally with family and be able to print some of them. I have no interest in making huge posters... just having the control to end up with the best-looking image i can get w my amateur skills
    ....i couldn't go w Plustek is because I have a few old photos I need to scan as well.
    Totally enjoyed the video! Easy to understand and most importantly you jumped right into content rather than go on for 10 minutes about how you spent your afternoon lol. New subscriber!

    Do you not get newtons rings just scanning with it directly on the glass?

    Can anyone help me figure out how to save my settings? So I can go back and use the exact settings for future photos?

    What if i raise the 35mm film from the scanner a bit like with a glass; would that make a difference where quality is concerned? Also if not, then what do you recommend for scanning 35mm at home? thanks

      I've gotten better results laying it flat from my experience with the Epson v600. I'd recommend using the Plustek series scanner for 35mm. It's a cheaper option as compared to other scanner options for 35mm. did a video on it here - ua-cam.com/video/Hgf3_qJXCug/v-deo.html

    I’m using 6x6 medium format film and even when I select that option it only scans a tiny, tiny sliver of the negative. I don’t know how to get it to scan the entire negative. I do have the red box around the entire negative. I just don’t know what to do. Feeling sad.

      - hi, sorry I can’t really tell the problem may be but reach out to silverfast. They have great customer service and they’ll definitely assist you. Don’t be sad 😞

    Good day, shotbyshingie!! I've got a question what if, i don't remember the film detailed (you know choosing info eg kodak ilford, iso 100 to something like that) i guessing it called negafix!! what should I choose for scanning film in silverfast because I've got my parent's wedding photos so i don't have the detailed on the film border large format.

    • @Shingie
      @Shingie  Рік тому +2

      - I don’t know if I understand fully but I’ll give it a shot. If you don’t have Negafix then you’ll have to do the coloring yourself. There’s a second option to Silverfast which is Negative lab pro.. you can scan the negative as a positive and convert it using negative lab pro.

    Sir Shingie... If Epson is perfect for 120 and PlusTek is perfect for 35mm... What's the jack of all trades photo scanner then?

    • @Shingie
      @Shingie  2 роки тому +1

      - I think the cool scan might be the best or a noristu that scans both 35mm and 120 but who’s got 5k plus to spend 😂😭
