Wrap the outside of the tin with electrical tape. Makes it somewhat waterproof, as you have some tape too 😎

Pretty sure, the medical tape is meant to be used with the towel, for bandages. The towel can also be used for water collection (think, dew). But, yeah, it CAN work as tinder, I suppose.
This is my favorite premade, small survival kit. I normally make my own but I've found that its an excellent supplement to a homemade kit. But if for whatever reason this was the only thing you had you could last a little while as long as you knew how to make a shelter and find a source of water

Great video 👍 living outside of Phoenix Arizona. Unless you find water your dead in three days, and you can walk for miles and not see water.

Nice little kit. I'm in the early stage of survival kits where just about all kits have something I don't. The mini tin looks like the ones used by The Mint Factory to sell their Informints. I bought mine at Dunhams Sports here in Ohio.

I don't know if anyone else said this but it is based on the classic tobacco tin the SAS uses. The US habit of using candy tins copies this with an even smaller size.

When you are repacking tin inside the bag, you don't need barcode no more. Much more useful would be other side of the card on display
Wish there was a way to include a whirl-Pak as water is so important and the included "containers" do not meet the requirement for the water purification tabs. Perhaps the assumption is you're carrying water/container separately.
I used to wear a utility jacket with about a dozen pockets in amongst those pockets would be 3 can size survival kits 1 dedicated to starting a fire 1 a mini first aid kit and 1 dedicated to procuring food and water.
The ferry rod / whistle thing is not bad. I’ll have to look to see if those can be purchased separately.

The earlier kits contained a razor but merry ol England banned cutting tools.

@@cbachandEngland’s lawmakers probably don’t want people walking around with dangerous “life threatening” tools such as those sharp and pointy knives. They probably deals fishermen to not fit their catch until they return home.
Nice little kit. Only thing i miss is some sort of knife. That should be in at the first place. Like to make my own just so i know what is in it and what is what.
Very good point but this is from the UK, carrying anything more than the smallest of non-locking folding knives can get you jail time.

A knife would have to be pretty small to get it in the tin in the first place. It would be easy enough to include a knife suitable for carrying in the UK, but it is perhaps preferable to have a kit that you can take on a commercial flight.
Scalpel or stanley blade is an easy add.
i would go for the slightly more expensive ones that have an actual 1 liter water bag rather than a condom, a condom is just too fragile to rely on

I like what you added I would just take a E R blanket and tie it on to the tin with a rubber band. That way you have a lil shelter or way to stay warm

well with the pinch light, you can a some string to it and whip it around and you have a buzz saw for signaling. the top of the tin can be used as a pan with wire and the same with the bottom as a pot. That o screw is used for a eye on the tip of the stick. as for the shelter side of it, with the paracord and the inner strands you could break some stick off and tie them up and make a decent lean to or plow point shelter with sticks and pine branches as a bed. 4 inches.
the tins were designed way back in the day as a last ditch survival kit in the idea if you lost your gear or you were on the run from the enemy as a escape and evasion aspect. To be honest I thought of trying to see if I can last at least one or two nights with the one i made.

I forgot to add with the tin itself you can make char cloth and you can take some twigs and add a point to make a char pencil. If you add a wire saw the best one I found the the bcb commando wire saw. the other ones are china made and dont really last that long.

They should say " packaged in the UK " as I'd expect it to say " packaged in the USA " because there are no doubt some Chinese made items in here.
One thing I think they failed on is the soft plastic baits, a worm and grub are things you should be able to very easily find.
Could be worse but theres gotta be something better they could have included for those who are not going to open this till it's needed.
