One of my favorite dinosaurs from my childhood! It would ve interesting to see this guy repainted yo resemble the Diplodocus from Walking With Dinosaurs.
They probably will knowing Mattel loves make large sauropods I want more but do not make them detachable because the joints will get loose and they can get lost and it will break so mattel do not do it to any of your figures pls don't just trying to avoid anyone who breaks it by mistake
Yeah that tail tip coming off has been happening to every Diplodocus figure. I've asked people who have it and yeah it does that So far, not one stays in So for any one who gets it, just glue it in, you have no need to swivel it anyway
I measured the height at the top of the back. Diplodocus never really carried his neck up high which is why you see his front body is so low. He did more of a side to side for grass grazing.
I already have the Diplodocus and it is gorgeous in person. I can’t wait to pair it with the Allosaurus Jimmadseni from Cyberzoic since they both share that Arid Tundra skin pattern
The tip of the tail on mine was loose; I had to Gorilla Glue it together with the rest of the tail. But _other_ than that, it _truly_ is yet another _STELLAR_ sauropod (🦕) from Mattel (👏). Watch this: if Mattel ever produces toys based on “Jurassic Park: The Ride/River Adventure,” they’ll make a big, honkin’ “ULTRASAURUS.” How much you wanna bet (😁)?
I agree. I managed to get one as a ship to home for like the 5 minutes it was available Sunday morning. I've been in like 5 or 6 Targets since then and have seen none on the shelf. I have the same issue with the Pyroraptor last month. Youd think that this being a Target exclusive they wouldn't have such a hard time getting these on the shelves.
Dreadnoughtu's articulatin should have became the standart for these mainline sauropods. The stiff neck is definitely a little bit of a letdown nowadays
I got mine last week. Does anyone else have trouble with the tail staying on the body? Mine keeps falling off. It doesn't click and lock into place like on the other dinos.
I still think the original Legacy Brachiosaurus is the best big sauropod Mattel has done - most screen accurate (and most scientifically accurate) - but this comes second in terms of accuracy as well as sculpt quality and detail.

Legacy collection Diplodocus is so beautiful and awesome! This figure is so majestic! So fantastic video, Andy 🌷👏🤗!
Imagine if Mattel made an Argentinosaurus that would be sick.
Probably around the size of Dreadnoughtus.
@@minnesotajones261nah if they do that it will be a crime to the biggest dinosaur that has ever live discovered

If they decide to do it properly, it would probably be the largest figure in the entire Jurassic World Mattel line.
How about the Alamosaurus sanjuanensis?
I have not seen diplodocus figures in a while it’s good to see them again
Awesome review Andy!! 🦕🦕
Great video once again!
Great review, as always! Haven’t had an issue with the tail on mine. Must be a QC issue.
Would love to see someone do a walking with dinosaurs repaint

@@tokensdam agreed. I'm definitely going to glue mine. Sad it's happening to so many.
Reviewing the parts before assembly is smart. You can tell Andy has dealt with giant collectible sauropods before! 😉
Haha you got that right! I've learned my lesson!
This diplodocus looks gorgeous

Thanks for the video!! See you later!! Stay safe.😊

I am begging for a Mattel agentinosaurus… just imagine how much space that would take it would be huge!
@@TheOfficialjurassicBeastStudio Now _that_ would be something!
Seen this at Target today and they clearly struggled with creating shelf space for it 😄
Ah, so it IS on shelves then
@@tokensdam yes 2 of them. Mesquite, Tx.
I would go and get this majestic creature but it's not been back in stock online. And the nearest target to me is an hour drive

Looks like the best sauropod in the line since Dreadnoughtus.
Mattel Camarasaurus and Barosaurus would be awesome.
I got it for Christmas and it is fantastic
DIPPY IS FINALLY HERE!!!
Really want them to take another Crack at the apatosaurus ... but in the HC.
Dreadnoughtu's articulatin should have became the standart for these mainline sauropods. The stiff neck is definitely a little bit of a letdown nowadays
That is so flexible that action of it is actually like a huge dinosaur
It looks SO COOL
How much does it cost in store
The tail tip on my diplodocus is quite secure. The socket might be broken on yours.
I've been asking a lot of people who have it, and they said theirs's does the same thing
Not one has said the tail tip stays in
BIG GUY!
❤ Favourite
I grew up saying the name as diplo-docus.
I got mine last week. Does anyone else have trouble with the tail staying on the body? Mine keeps falling off. It doesn't click and lock into place like on the other dinos.
@@moejjoraisin6005 only the tip of the tail for me. Absolutely refuses to stay on.
@@andysdinosaurreviews wonder if we are the lucky ones or Diplodocus comes with the added feature of tail connectivity issues.

Nah I'd have to say the dreadnoughtus was the best by far
I’m afraid I’m not gonna be getting this one mostly because some of the parts on it are reused from other sauropods
I don't know why people keep saying that, clearly even the main body is different, shape, folds, legs are different, tail is most definitely different
@@tokensdam those are the leg are reused
@@JadeoftheJurassic Are you sure, I keep looking at the other Sauropods and this one and I don't see it at all
They appear to be slight retool of the mamenchisaurus the neck is a retool of the dreadnoughtus
@@JadeoftheJurassic I still can't see it, slight is so off. The detailing, shape, and length is definitely off
Which movie is it from?
None, it is a design invented for the toy. As with the Kosmoceratops, it makes no sense for it to be in the Legacy collection.
Diplodocus
Not the longest, the Dreadnoughtus 60 inches
Big guy
This figure looks amazing, but the teeth and nostrils are bothering me by how anatomically inaccurate they are.
i wan't please mattel's seismosaurus, ultrasauros. I Like seismosaurus and ultrasauros. But ultrasauros is a shame brachiosaurus synonymy.
With it's tail up like that it appears to be urinating.
