Wait, it cost HOW much in 1983?! And my parents STILL bought it for 5-year old me for Christmas, even though we were dirt poor???? Thanks, mom and dad, for your sacrifice that year. Talking KITT was my favorite childhood toy 😭😭😭

My parents got me this at Children's Palace back in the day, probably my favorite toy.

I had this when I was a kid and recently just bought one on eBay. Great times.

Wow that brings me back- I got one of these for my birthday in either '83 or '84. Literally used to sleep next to it. 😂

My brother had this, such a cool toy, I was obsessed with it. My husband has a Knight Rider race track, I didn’t know it even existed until I saw his!

I was a big fan of Knight Rider and when I saw this at the toy store, I flipped. They sold out for Christmas 83-84 which was crazy because they were so expensive. I finally got one for my birthday and played with it to death, I lost one of the doors and the voice mechanism stopped working. I wished I’d kept it, coolest toy I’d ever got at that time.

I had this as well, it was my holy grail back then. For being a toy designed for children, the car itself was amazingly detailed and accurate, even now looking at it with more discerning eyes as an adult with more serious collectible experience it still looks fantastic.

I had one of these as a kid, and kept it in pristine condition. Then, at age 14 I sold it at a garage sale for a few bucks. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRG.

Love they have "denim" paint on his jeans. Every other denim implied paint was crazy bright then.

Very cool masterpiece 👍😊 , those good old days from the beautiful time in the 1980s are unforgettable indeed, especially for us as our generation grew up while watching such lovely series on Tv in the absence of internet, satellites, dvds and mobile phones... My dad had a black 1982 Datsun 280zx with a gold line during that time and I had always imagined myself sitting on the back seat of Kitt while riding in it 😊

The camera and the lighting made that black on KITT look so great. Great job!

I had one of these as a kid (born in '82). Fond memories of both the toy and the show!

I wanted that thing so bad when I was a kid. Only other car toy I wanted more was the A-Team van followed by the General Lee
