    Restoring this Heater/Stove for local Museum the original company that made these was based in America who sold its licence to reproduce these in multiple countries around the world, I suspect this one has been made in Australia. I thought this would have been a quick restoration but there's always unforeseen problems. don't forget to watch the bit at the end when I drop it off to the museum, where you can see some of my other Restorations

    Another amazing job mate. You made that last bit of soldering look so easy. Little tour of the museum at the end was a great little bonus. 😉👍

    My grandfather had one of these in his workshop, in the 60s the globe thing got red hot, he used it for heating and to heat up a glue pot, he also used Tilley lamps, it used to throw heat out like the electric ones with a round ceramic centre did, I’ll alway remember the sounds of them.

    *Beautiful job done there Richard. Right from the start getting those dents out of the reflector shield was fine work. I liked the magnet trick getting the dents out of the tank. I'll have to remember that one. Finished project looks pretty much new again 👍👍*

    I assume the hanging perforated dome thing over the burner is supposed to glow red/orange when hot enough for radiant heat when set-up for a parabolic heater and you didn’t give it enough time for that effect 🤨

    • @richardrestorations
      @richardrestorations  2 місяці тому

      I had seen a couple others running and didn't see them glowing red neither, might have something to do with a fuel, thanks for commenting 😀

      @samuelfellows6923 2 місяці тому

      @@richardrestorations - is it possible that the dome thing is supposed to be sitting on top of the burner and nearer to the heat, or as you have said “it is not hot enough”
