They don't blink twice at goths in NYC. One of my best friends works at Renaissance Gothic; I do hope you got over there!

Don't know if you will see this comment but Im going to write this anyway. My daughter is goth & lives in NYC. She loves it. She met you at a goth party while you were there. She said you were really great to talk to and Im not surprised. I didnt expect anything less from you. I'm so happy you took a picture with her. I will cherish it always👍✌♥

Helpful hint for foreigners or just US citizens: it’s customary to tip 20%. So look at the total before tax, move the decimal point over one to the left then times that by 2. For ex: if your total is $40.40, 10% would be $4.00 so 20% is $8!
Okay so you know how shops like the Halloween store you were in have that specific smell to them? While I was watching this video, I could imagine that smell, and how comforting that is. It's oddly relaxing.

I freakin loved New York. It was loud and busy and HUGE!! So much to do there. I was petrified of flying over water. My first trip (because it was a short flight from Australia) was actually to New Zealand. My next trip was to America! If you want to see the world you have to tackle that fear head on. So glad I did as I'm sure you did too ♥♥

Oh this was a wonderful vlog... I'm so happy you had a great time here in America.. even though you hate flying I do hope you come back more often..you would love Salem, Mass. Everyone is so welcoming and there's tons of history. Same as Boston, and Philly....LA would be a wonderful trip for you too there's a big goth community there. Can't wait to watch the rest of your trip!

that sucks.. I'm from Providence RI and I used to go there to visit all the time when I was teen and in my early 20's, everyone was always so lovely. It's been years but it sure does seem like everything lately has been changing.. even my city.. I'm blah when I look at it.. but visiting a city/town is def much more different then living there and I always hear stories of people having a great time when visiting.. It is nice to hear about others seeing the beauty that I might not see anymore and enjoying the history. Cheers* my fellow New Englander!!

Yes! Funny story; when I was 7 (some 40 plus years ago), my family and I were sailing from Australia to UK and we had 1 day in New York. We got caught up sight seeing and lost track of time. In a panick to get back to the ship on time my dad almost threw himself in front of a taxi, threw us into it and begged the driver to get us to the ship on time. He did, but when my dad asked how much he owed him, the driver said 'Nothing, I'm not actually a taxi, but you seemed so desperate, how could I not help' ... It's a story still told today 😊 x

Jillian Johnson I had really bad anxiety about going on planes too but I promise you it's really not that bad. Just push yourself and once you sit down you'll realize it's not that bad and you'll eventually calm down. The only part that's horrible is the fucking security

You will survive! I always find the anxiety alleviates at take off, when you're launched above the clouds and it's just so beautiful and incredible. Just bring a bottle for water and comfortable shoes :)

in ny state usually double the tax amount total with food or drink bill. it usually endsup 17 percent tip. thats how i figure it out. but also some places you have to read the receipt where they already give themselves the tip before hand. so not to double tip

In NYC, people aren't going to care too much about what you like. You're not going to be called names like you would someplace else. NYC can be very dangerous, so it's kind of like an unspoken code not to stare or start shit with someone. My boyfriend is from NYC and he could tell you some stories that would make even your go straight!
Also, there are a lot of celebrities in NYC at any given time. You could walk around with them and have a casual conversation like it's no big deal. Just like how you were hanging with Voltaire. Amazing. Another thing about my boyfriend, his father was a famous Hollywood actor, so he always got to hang out with other actors in NYC and in California when he lived there briefly. What I'm saying here is what he told me... There are a few amazing actors who don't have their heads in the clouds that will talk to you like a real person, not all snooty. New York is a great place to meet them and just have a great time in general...if that's your scene. You being goth, it's right up your alley!

I always love seeing America through the eyes of a foreigner. Even if I'm from Chicago and not NYC. haha Also, I know it's too late now, but I HIGHLY recommend a tip calculator app for the next time you come to the US. I've used it many times before (if I have a bill that's weird or I just don't want to think lol). I recommended it to my Aussie friend for her trips to the US, and it's definitely come in handy for her, too. ☺

I got back from New York this morning why does this always happen to me😫😫 Also my plane was delayed because of that weather and my anxiety isn’t bad with flying until there is turbulence. It was so bad I was sobbing and the air hostesses were like staring at me. Very embarrassing when everyone was staring. I hope you have fun!

So glad you got to go to New York and had a good time, especially after the sad drama of your transformation video. I love it there. It's true, there's everything there and you never get bored, and you can wear anything and not get stared at. It's awesome. I know what it's like to be in a foreign country too, and it's so nice to come back to where they speak English. I got so homesick in Greece last year, and I just wanted to be around people speaking in my language again.

Your reaction to NYC is so wonderful, wide-eyed, and genuine. It's really nice to hear how happy you are to visit America. I feel like I've seen a few things recently where people visited and weren't too enthralled/mostly commented about politics and obesity. Which is sort of depressing considering how big & diverse America is/how mostly unlike the tv shows and movies it is. Really enjoyed this.
