That transcends the idea of a “cover”. This song is so much more than a cover. It’s a new retelling of a 50 year old song/ story/ experience. In a word… It was BRILLIANT! You’ve made this 61 year old’s day (and even the last few days. I would have loved to have been walking through that area where you guys were playing and never seeing you and all of a sudden hearing this bluegrass & baroque retelling of Starless. That is American Gothic! I want to present you with an Oscar, a Tony, an Emmy and a Grammy Award. #ThankYouForYourService ✌🏽❤️🎻🎸🍄🌬️🍃
great. love how the crescendo part in the middle just sort of sounds mischievous rather than evil like the original, compounds very well with the sounds of the forest. not to mention your guys' vocal harmonies bring out the best of the intro
King brilliant! From the u.k. here, loved it! Grew up with crimson Prefer the early albums and wetton period the most, but starless Is one of the best tracks, composed by anyone imo Great version!
I always separate my preference for prog rock from the music that is probably in my roots (I was born and raised in southwestern Virginia). But, wow……you guys covered King Crimson’s beauty of a song Starless. Lifelong fan of you guys, now.🙏👍
I usually click on Starless every time I come across differing instrumentations of it as it is a tune that lends itself to infinite variations and interpretations/you've done it great justice here/ the uptempo is brilliant !!!###
Oh man. This is gold - before I even hear it (just starting). Just that somebody even did this. This is up there with Petra Haden's vocal renditions of KC tunes in the 'that somebody did it at all' category - now to actually listen... Just that this deserves a comment before I even hit play.
That was great on so many levels! Bravo! I applaud you all. From the vocals, instrumentation, rendition, to woods in the background. Starless is timeless, and ya' all just proved it.
Having grown up as a teenager with this music in the seventies, I always felt that the really important progressive rock (Crimson, Yes, Gentle Giant and E.L.P. on only a small, select goup of others) would endure for generations. This music is that good and powerful standing high over the mundane Soma pop that the music industry shovels down everyone's throats that it will continue to inspire masterpieces like the Often Herd's rendition of this classic. Euge guys!
That was an interesting rendition of my favourite piece of music of all time. Not so sure about the bluegrassy bit at the end, but the violinist was great.
often herd is actually an insanely class name for a band
Oh HELL yes. What a great rendition of this song. Like when I saw KC in '74, this gave me chills. Bravo, gentlemen!!
Saw that amazing tour, south Florida.
This song is older than any of you... and you showed it due respect!!! Cheers from KY!!!

To this day I cant think of a single other piece that can drive me to tears multiple times in one listen... Close to the Edge is almost there.
The ending of Gates of Delirium might beat out CTTE for me
you two have just listed 2 of my favourite prog rock pieces (and def my favourite Yes pieces), great taste
@@bigbroiswatchingyou2137It is very hard to top Yes and Crimson. Such immaculate bands.
WOW, I hope Fripp has seen this, simply gorgeous
Yes!
Respect, gentlemen, you mastered a masterpiece! Bravo!! and thank you for sharing.
Holy fuck boys, that ain’t just some crimson cover. God damn touching
Oh wow, as a prog fan (40+ years) and bluegrass musician (25+ years), this hits the sweet spot for me!!! Great cover of this Wetton/KC classic!
Amazing!! Please do more KC!
I love that they play the melody return in double time bluegrass style. That melody has a sad Appalachian feel.

Gaaaawdam! I’ve been collecting versions of this song since I first heard it back in the day. But this is so very special. Thank you.
