In the 1980s, early 1990s, I used to care about such things, wondering where all the top recruits were going to college. Now, who gives a crap, they'll have left college before you begin to know their names. College hoops used to be my favorite sport, knew the lineups of all the Big East, ACC, and Big Ten teams. Now, I can't name two names from the first-team All-American teams. It's killed my NBA fandom as well. Didn't watch a minute of this year's draft. Who are those names?

A trend you see in this class(most of the selections in the 2020 draft) more than anything is a staggering lack of proper development in the players one could attribute this to the COVID-19 situation mucking up Both the college and nba situations. McDaniels role in the Wolves rotation is not at all mentioned in the video, which is his defensive skillset and off ball offensive capabilities. He provides a shooting threat should neither of the primary scorers be open for a shot and McDaniels has a good look. But his defensive play is one of the keystones of the Wolves team. He can plug the defensive holes that Rudy and KAT may not be as good at.

I gave GS as much heat as anyone on the handling of Wiseman. But, after seeing what he has done (or rather not done) in Detroit, it clear why he didn't pan out in GS. I think he has some offensive skill, for a player of his size. But, man, he is clueless and heartless on defense, sadly. I still hope the best for him, but it's not likely to change. It's hard to hide a guard on defense, but hiding a center is just not possible. He's like a black hole on defense, and that is why he is unplayable.

I feel kind of sad for most of these talented kids not getting the proper guidance for their future. I now understand why Dan Hurley is looking for a certain type of kid that fits his program before making an offer. Many of the top recruits don't fit or buy into his vision and therefore he recruits lower ranked players. And sometimes it's just luck having a 7'2" center living 30 minutes from campus. Hurley's complex system helps develop these kids to be ready for the NBA and the summer leagues have shown their readiness to add value right away to the teams drafting them. Their future is yet to be made.

Just like every other sport, the reduction in development time is hurting the product. 21-year old kids bodies have the wear and tear of a 35-year old from being raw and unrefined in their game. Or improper training methods. And just like other sports analytics is to blame. So much focus on shooting efficiency and metrics over an all around game. Granted the rules are mostly to blame, but defense is non-existent today. And rebounding. One thing Dennis Rodman always said even back in his era, is leading the league in rebounding is the easiest individual title to accomplish. All you have to do is make the effort as most players on the court are only putting in half effort to get the boards. NBA tried to make it so you had to be 21 to be drafted and the players union shot it down. Maybe they should just be like every job that regular people have that needlessly require a 4-year degree and make that a requirement. Make the college game relevant again and give these kids proper development.

I never claimed in the video his fg% was lower than his first two seasons. Not like that’s much of a flex anyway, since his shooting percentages are still very mediocre. Also you have to look at the context of the video man, when it was uploaded in the middle of last season there were hella trade talks surrounding Cole Anthony with many experts predicting he’d get traded, there was so many articles about it. I think the real concern here is that he played a career low in minutes last year, which is a big red flag for me. Even with paolo and franz running the show, that really shouldn’t be eating into Coles minutes right? So why else are they cutting back his minutes? I like Stewart as well. My point was that most of the casual fans likely only remember him from his altercation with lebron, and thus aren’t aware that he’s actually a pretty solid player. I definitely remember lots of people talking down on Stewart during that time, calling him a bum, a nobody, etc.

"1 instance" is a stretch lol put his name into youtube and several of the top suggestions are videos of him getting into fights and heated exchanges with other players. I do agree with you tho, like I said in the video, he's a damn good player and I want him to shed the overall negative energy undeniably given to him by the media and casual fans.

@@yungivar686 I didn’t mention the intestinal virus because in my opinion it isn’t really the main reason why he’s not in the nba. I mean that happened back in 2021 and he still hasn’t even come close to an NBA return. And unless you have sources that state otherwise, I really think your overplaying the severity of the virus he contracted. It was certainly a really bad case, and he lost a significant amount of weight/muscle mass, but by all reports I’ve read, he was fully recovered after a few months and was able to quickly gain back the weight he lost. At what point do we start thinking that he was just never an NBA talent? Like perhaps the main reason he’s not in the the NBA is because, like many other mentioned in the video, he wasn’t good enough. Just my thoughts bro, but if you think otherwise than I can respect that
