McCollum didn't write the new rules. A bunch of money hungry lawyers did. We can say McCollum is overpaid, but that's also a bad take. The Blazers lose games by 40-60 points since they traded CJ.
I think if anything this will create more dynasties and favor the best players in the league more. A team like the Mavs last year for example. Luka plus a mid tier star Kyrie, plus a bunch of role guys went to the finals. Then they faced a super team with 4 stars. Luka is the best player on the floor but he couldn't make up for the extra star power the Celtics had. If Luka only had to face teams with 2 stars on them, he might be looking at winning a few championships in a row. The Mavs roster as constructed is sustainable to pay.
OKC has obviously won the management title being the best team in the west last year and still not being in the luxury tax. But they got about two seasons until that team becomes one of the most expensive teams in all of the NBA. And two or three years they may have to trade a couple of the guys that we definitely associated as being their young talent. I get how they want to avoid dynasties but some of this stuff just makes it really hard. I like seeing more player movement and I think this restricts player movement. As more and more teams get into the first and second apron it becomes much harder to put together trades.😊
Okc is only the best team cause they get to play all 82 games cause of young legs ….there not a threat at all even if there a first seed an 8 seed team would want to play them cause they knowd they win come playoff time
Kris Dunn made out in free agency with his sign and trade deal with the Clippers & Utah for Westbrook, instead of taking the vet minimum from Phoenix Milwaukee the two teams that really wanted him but couldn't pay him properly because of the new CBA rules. He got 3 years 17 to 20 million to play for a contender as their backup point guard 🔥
@@breadformyfamily4175they never really have besides the Spurs and a few well run organizations. I doubt this fixes anything, small market teams don’t have the same pressure to win as a NY, LA, Boston, Miami, etc. Small market team owners are like Donald Sterling, low payroll and make sure they earn a return. Very few really try. So why reward them?
I think he tried to give himself a better chance to win a ring and kill those dinasties, but superstars are still getting bigger and bigger contracts and team still will sign superstars for whatever they are supposed to earn , the middle class role players are who will suffer the cut , they will have to take less in order to play , will be teams that sign 2 all star caliber players and filled with vet minimum and 2 ways players ,, new players will have playing time because theyre cheaper , now CJ himself in a couple of years when he becomes a role player not a starter will suffer the consequences of this...I try to understand why the players voted for this , don't make sense if still just 2 players can make 70 or 80 percent of the salary cap ,
Quit acting like this new CBA is a bad thing. It's been refreshing to go into a new season not knowing what teams will be in the finals. The "player empowerment" era was killing the NBA & this new CBA is a step in the right direction 👏
I agree it’s a great thing up until Castle Vassel and Wemby all need max contracts (just an example, I understand castle and Vassell may not be max contract players quite yet if ever) and you have to let one or even two go to make room for a stronger bench and support to place around Vic
If that were to be the case, then you hit those aprons. There's no issue with going over the cap when you're a championship contending team. Even still, this makes the league more competitive. The Spurs & Thunder have set themselves up for success more than any other teams in this new CBA era @seanknox5785
No dynasties killed. These teams need to figure it out. Period!
No shit.
Actually MLB does have soft cap. Most high market teams just don't care about the luxury tax.
Great video! 👍
Just don't overspend. That is what this means.
CJ be like if I can't have a super team no one can

How are teams going to handle Wemby if you can't put 3 stars up against him?
I love how luxurious the font for the lockout was

Good vid
The new CBA killed the NBA middle class
Great way to put it
Nah, it’s taxing the rich lmao
How the fuck is a small market team supposed to compete with big market teams for good players? Regulation.

Really great video! (I only listened) Shocked by the view count. Maybe add some background music?
No absolutely not! Video was perfect. @jb10 Bro don’t let these losers throw you off. NBA YT is so overproduced, keep it simple please.
great video, raise your audio a lil pls
Na, we don’t need him screaming in the mic. He’s chill. Let that me be cool.
@ballin5192 Get better headphones, audio is perfect

Yah. Literally stops players from tryna be GM. Look what LeBron and kawhi has done to LA lol.

Check the ratings
Also if a team drafts well. Why should the lose their players? Maybe a reward for drafting well like a tax relief for keeping your own.
Yea just made the league watered down and lame
I blame KD, dam cupcake he’s got soft hands
#24
NEED A CAP ON SALARIES, PERIOD. NO PLAYER SHOULD MAKE MORE THANN 25 MILLION PER YEAR.
