Saying Ukraine doesnt have natural resources is wrong,they have the second largest gas reserves in Europe after Norway and plenty of rear minerals.

I dont get why the west is playing so nice this topic. Give the money a reparations for damage caused.
The banks that hold the money need a law to be passed that allows the money to be given away legally - or else they're potentially liable for the sum. If western countries aren't careful, passing such a law could scare away investment from other countries as the money could be considered unsafe. Thats the reason. But I don't see why they don't make a work around - e.g. all money is forfit if you invade a neighbouring country.
Probably because they know it would reduce trust in western countries as safe places for foreign investment and thus undermine their economies. Which it would.
As a small down payment, which Russia is also on the hook for!

Ukraine is not a poor Country, they have many resources plus they're one of the largest grain producers in the world, they have a lot of manufacturing also.
I believe that the problem with the wealth is the problem of exporting the wealth for trade.
This is wonderful programming. Serious, to the point, consistent. Thank you.
The sanctions are working extremely well. Virtually all of Russia's industrial economy depended on imported technology, skills, parts, management, access to vendors and subcontractors. Virtually every machine in Russia both industrial and consumer with the exception of small appliances and junk Chinese cars is now in a position to if it fails, it cannot be repaired. EVERY MACHINE. The building automation system fails in a high rise office building, the building is useless. A production line machine fails, the whole line is down. There are millions of machines each with hundreds, even thousands of parts. Consider commercial airplanes. The number that can even still fly are dwindling and cannot be certified safe to fly outside of Russia. Russia bought a lot of cheap old ships. Once there is an oil spill that isn't insured, nobody will risk another incident. When refineries are attacked, the electronics that monitor and control them, sensors, actuators, motor controllers, programmable logic controllers (industrial computers) can't be replaced or reprogrammed. There's nobody left to do it. Within days of the invasion, it was clear to me that Russia was doomed. It just takes time.
I hope you are right but we were told that the planes in Russia wouldn’t fly because of lack of parts. They’re obviously still flying so how or where is Russia getting the spares ?
@TonyM540 They cannibalize some planes to repair others. Iran does the same. For international airworthiness certification that's not allowed. What's more when parts are ordered tou have to specify the exact plan to be sure of the right part and they must come from the manufacturer. There may be changes during the production run of each model. Some of the planes were repaired in Turkey. That won't be happening anymore.

But if russia cannibalises a plane to service another then a) they’re down one plane and b) the plane that’s in use has to fly more air miles to compensate for the lack of the cannibalised plane, therefore more air miles results in more maintenance and spare parts. Sooner or later the planes are going to fall from the sky…..unless they’re being supplied through the black market.

Also, UA is one of the top exporters of grain then the strongest individual exporter of vegetable oil.
It would not need to be poor but adapt its export prices to a more sustainable value.

As soon as I saw the just passed aid package from the USA included releasing 8 billion in frozen assets, I knew other countries would follow the lead. This is a REALLY big deal (over 300 billion in various countries).

Just a thought.... Ukraine is the breadbasket for much of the world. Oil is not the only thing exported lucratively. Both exports have been targeted. Ukraine coming out on top I think. @richardbayer5702 Ukraine’s crippling debt is being used as a leverage by the financial institutions to drive post-war reconstruction towards further privatization and liberalization reforms in several sectors, including agriculture.
This is a lose-lose situation for Ukrainians. While they are dying to defend their land, financial institutions are insidiously supporting the consolidation of farmland by oligarchs and Western financial interests.
