I'm excited for Explaining JoJo
HAIKYU!!!
My absolute favorite anime ever is Puella Magi Madoka Magica.
Where is JOJO in the description been aired in 2012 to 2019 that's almost the decade of JoJo Bizzare adventure rebirth
Bunny Girl Senpai and its subsequent movie 💜
No doubt, we've had a phenomenal decade of anime. Let's strive for another great decade of anime.
Just Some Guy without a Mustache why do I keep on seeing you?
Agreed
Double agreed
@@nikkicastle3423 that's what I'm saying
Ok Jalal 😂
“Since we are watching in 2020, the end of the world did not happen”
2020: I’m going to pretend I didn’t hear that
Man the rise of streaming. I remember watching the entirety of Lucky Star, Haruhi Suzumiya and Mermaid Melody on UA-cam...honestly I never would have thought we’d get here...
MERMAID MELODY! Watching all of that on youtube with Full Moon was an adventure
omg that's crazy bc i watched all of lucky star and haruhi suzumiya on crunchyroll
I love your Dear White People avatar.
joan hong haha it wasn’t around when i was growing up...literally the only way you could watch anime in my day was buying the DVD or finding it in parts on youtube 💀💀💀
S-wo haha thanks!!
If you ever want a very good and a big tear jerker, A Silent Voice is a go to movie. It is on Netflix too
Sharky25 I agree, I cried several times
(rip KyoAni tho D;)
yes
everyone outside US and UK: am I a joke to you?
(I've seen A Silent Voice on DVD, it's good, everyone needs to see it and Netflix needs to get it in other territories)
Erufailon4 I don’t understand...
that movie was what got me into anime ;-;
I'm sad I didn't see Soul Eater, or fairy tail, but I do like this list
True.. Code Geass was also great to my opinion.
Good thing all of them are on Netflix
they cannot be classified as 2010's anime since they started before then
My fave... Goblin Slayer... Wasnt mentioned...RIP
Soul Eater (2008)
Code Geass (2006)
I felt that when she was talking about watching 3-6 part bits of anime on UA-cam and it was also slightly sped up 😂
I forgot about watching anime in 3 parts that hurt me
Bruh that’s how I watched Naruto and FMA 😭
Those were the golden days, am i right
I especially loved it when UA-cam took down one of the videos so you never learned how the episode ended 🙃
Ninlos That's how I watched the Welcome to the NHK! dub. I feel old.
That's how I watched Dragonball when I was little.
HxH WAS SO GOOD I WANT MORE it’s such a shame we might never get more anime because... well we all know how the Succession Arc is going. But DANGANRONPA YES! Oh how I loved that series
5:36 Whoa Black Rock Shooter?
That's a DEEP cut! I don't think anyone saw the show or ONA besides me!! XD
Haha, I had to add it into the script. Still prefer the art style of the ONA, but glad it got a series! -Adrian (the guy behind the camera)
@@GetInTheRobot black clover?
Black Rock Shooter was a huge thing back in 2012, what are you on about?
Get In The Robot The TV series is my streaming partner's favourite show, no joke. (Also she reviews anime for Geek Girl Authority, I write for THEM sometimes, shameless plug, yadda yadda.)
Dorrie: "Attack on Titan."
Gigguk's voice in my head: "JAAEGER"
Your Name and Silent Voice was amazing
“Does anyone even watch anime on Amazon???” Vinland Saga and Babylon say hello...
Also banana fish or dororo
Nachquana Yes!!! I haven’t seen Dororo but I watched all of Banana Fish on some dodgy site before I realised it was on Prime...silly
@@Schlen_ BANANA FISH 😭😭😭😭 ugh I'm already crying from the memories of that show
Illegal pirating also says hello...
Every anime that Amazon snatches up has been great. Besides the ones that were named here already Pet is shaping up to be an amazing show too.
19:29 At least we got a short clip of the anime that brought me back to anime (after years of being away): A Place Further Than The Universe.
The real question is what’s Dorrie hiding under those bangs???🤔
Hm...I sure wonder.
A forehead
McKenzie Eby oh and here I was thinking it was murderous intent.
Hefe G
That’s sarcasm, right? I’m not very good at picking up on that.
McKenzie Eby it’s cool; but here’s the thing what’s your favorite anime?
I WANT MISS KOBAYASHI BACK!!!! 😭😭😭
Thanks to the devil you're gonna have to wait a while for more Dragon Maid. You can read the manga in the meantime.
doesn't even mention JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable?
*no dignity*
This doesn't feel like a picnic
Dwang gang rise up
No dignity, no doubt
jojos is bad
Or golden wind
The anime message boards of the mid 2000s were also fun. If you looked hard enough you could stumble on libraries of hundreds of anime.
I don’t know if it’s because of my angsty-preteen tinted nostalgia glasses, but I reallllyyy enjoyed deadman wonderland
This video should have been called “anime list of the 2010s” cuz know I want to watch every anime mention...including the ones u can’t watch in public🤣😅
Haha, glad we gave some suggestions. There were a TON that we couldn’t add because it would’ve been WAAAAAY too much info, but maybe that’s for another time.
@@GetInTheRobot Classic. You want to talk about notable events in a certain time period, but it still comes down to listing the most popular shows.
These past 10 years were amazing for anime fans and completly agree it has never been so easy to watch anime.
Revival of Toonami, Rise of MHA, and Demon Slayer, 5 JOJO’S Bizarre adventures, the isekai boom, DRAGON BALL SUPER!!!, the end of Naruto...😭😭😭, also the birth of Get in the Robot! Yep,the 2010’s was really Anime’s New Renaissance! Let’s keep this train going in 2020 and beyond!!
Also, Curt I think Dorrie took some shots at u...she must be your best friend!
2020:*laughs in delays*
Madoka Magica.. bro.. I think that is the anime that can take the award for making me cry
I love it when it's a Dorrie episode!
Q We will miss you 2010 animes, but heres to an even better decade of anime.
Some of my favourites :
DORORO (my 2019 favourite),
Banana Fish,
Asobi Asobase,
Made in Abyss
You’re charisma, the writing, and the production, left me laughing and happy till the end. Great recap! A new decade of some good art to look forward to
This was a nice trip down nostalgia lane. Reminds me of all the great anime I still haven't watched.
am i the only one absolutely in love with dorrie? ugh shes just so perfect.
Banana Fish is one of the hidden gems I recommend to all anime fans. That series left me... 😔😔😔
BRO FOR REAL, IT STANDS IN MY TOP TEN ANIME OF ALL TIME
Banana fish on my top 5 👍 but why it's so underrated?
Banana Fish is so underrated 😭😔
@@hershywatchesyt well i mean... is it? the idea of the genre itself is fine but some of them shows in that genre man... they can be pretty messed up
You didn't mention fruits basket and that came out last year it was the reboot that we all needed
We mentioned it in our 2019 Year in Review! We decided to keep 2019 short in the video because THAT video goes through a bunch of anime.
God, I am so glad Toonami came back, or I probably never would've started watching anime (my friends loved watching Inuyasha reruns on Toonami, and middle school me was very hyped for anything involving badass ladies with cool weapons and/or shapeshifters, so you can imagine just how much I ate that up). And if I hadn't revisited Inuyasha on Netflix a bit later, I never would've been recommended FMA/FMA:B (now two of my favourite shows of all time), or Death Note, or many other anime shows that really introduced me to the genre. Nowadays instead of dipping my toes into the anime pool, I'm now trying to watch more shows (instead of rewatching). This channel is hugely helpful for recommendations! Soon, I'm going to start watching JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Sailor Moon (yeah, I'm a loser who never watched it), YuYu Hakusho, Carole and Tuesday, and many more shows!
Nice
you guys in the west had all the fun with anime even getting a nice channel back to watch anime legally on tv, mean while here in india, we had it tough this decade, our only channel to watch anime "animax" was taken down and no one baits an eye on us anime fans here. Man i am super jealous of u guys there. Well at least we were able to bring makoto shinkai to india this year, but we have a very long way to go to make anime mainstream here.
@@sreejasrivaram8250 that really sucks! I'm sorry to hear about that. Do you guys have streaming services available?
And of course 2011s best anime is
Me: hunter x hunter obviously
... Madoka magica
Hisoka is sad now
How do people ignore HxH I seriously don't understand.
@@waIIow
Well, it’s not really ignored compared to Puella Magi Madoka Magica
(Sorry if I come off as rude)
Dorrie when will the "Chika is the best anime character ever" idea gonna get green lit
Dorries reaction to Free! is very very very veeeery relatable. Dang it.
“The end of the world did not happen” little did she no
21:46 considering what you showed there, the script should've said "easy breezy"
ah, recent nostalgia. hope you keep making videos til the next decade :D
omg i’m so happy you mentioned BR⭐️S 🥺 one of my favorites..
Okay I'm back from watching your video on visual novels. Again, just because I wanted to be safe 😁 Good stuff
This decade was amazing let’s hope next decade is as good or better than this decade.
I find it beautiful that horokoshi grew up loving western comics , and as of now the western loves my hero academia is just a wholesome loops and I love it
man this vid was amazing. i need to catch up on my "need to watch list"
I seriously dind't realised till this point how awesome this past 10 years where.
Around 50-75 % of my favorites come from this decade. I should watch the few to my still unknown (not unheard off) animes in this ..well list I guess. Thanks for the Video.
Good recap of the period. Thank y’all for this video and the channel in general. I’m grateful to find trustworthy anime recommendations.
And hearing y’all’s takes on shows I have already watched, besides being entertaining, helps me compare and find my next favorites.
But I feel like I’m forgetting something... Am I supposed to do something else next? Before I go binge Ping Pong the Animation, which I first heard about here.
Some video about poems, short stories...? Novels? Heavy ones? Light ones? Oh well, it must not have been too important or I would remember, or she would have repeated it so I could catch it.
10 years ago this coming August we lost Satoshi Kon. I feel like an anime 'old man' but I don't know how much GitR staffers might remember about some of his work in the 1990's-2000's: Perfect Blue, Paranoia Agent, Paprika, Tokyo Godfathers, Millennium Actress. He was taken WAY too soon!
Dorrie has mentioned Satoshi Kon films in her videos before. I'm pretty sure the Whole GITR crew know about him seeing they live and Breath Anime
Don't forget his excellent work on Patlabor and the 90s JoJo OVA, among others. Sad to see him go so soon.
Awesome video Dorrie!!! Thanks for all the nostalgia of shows I forgot I had watched, stuff my gf and I have watched together over the years, and just how amazing the last decade truly was for anime! I tell my students how even at the start of this decade when I was in high school, it was still kinda hard to access alot of anime easily and even to be open about liking it with certain people. Now I share my Crunchyroll with students and introduce them to it. They can't ecen believe me half the time when I say that it was never popular like it is now. I hope we see Jojos Part 6-8 in the coming decade and some like super mainstream anime or movies that get recognized in Hollywood even. But I'm sure I can't even imagine a fraction of what is to come, and so glad you guys will be here to cover it! Also, happy to know the channel is a Cancer like me lol can't wait for next weeks video!!!
Dorrie you have opened the flood gates of wonderful memories from the past decade.
Woo! Props to that Toonami mention😎🙌
Shoutout to Dorrie for representing the greatness of Madoka Magica.
P.S. Magia Record: Another Story started January 2020. I recommend.
2014 was the best year for anime of the decade and it's not even close: Norgami, Parasyte, Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun, Space Dandy, Akatsuki no Yona, Terror in Resonance, Sabage-bu, Witchcraft Works, Sekai Seifuku Svazda, Fate/Stay Night UBW, No Game No Life, Engaged to the Unidentified, Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions,
Ready for what’s next for anime in 2020 and beyond, wooo!
Yow, I didn't even realize so many years have passed since I've first watched some of these anime when they came out
I wanna give a shoutout to all of you guys at Get in the Robot. Cristal, Curt, Dorrie, Adrian, Yedoye and everyone else on the crew!
Ya’ll have really rekindled my love for anime and really help with finding anime I would’ve missed if it weren’t for your dope videos. Excited to see what the next 10 years brings
I know you guys did this because we just ended a decade in anime, but I would love to see more decades covered like this. I'd say 90's would be a really interesting episode!
Aaaand now I feel old af, cuz 2010 I graduated high school and was only really reading like a handful of manga back then and whatever anime was on cartoon network (that I'd probably already seen).
5:12 "The end of the world did not happen!" Oh boy is she gonna be thrilled whenever she sees the future
Honestly speaking I hope my daughter ends up loving anime as much a you do and to keep it going for the future generations. Thank you for making this video.
Great video
I always downloaded anime from fan sub sites, not UA-cam. Waiting each week.. hopefully... for the next episode to come out was always killer
*hears “your lie in April”
Me: Kaaaaaorrrrrrrri 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Im totally gonna watch that video about visual novels! :o
Where was bunny girl senpai :’(
My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU too
I wanted saiki K
haha
Omg, you watched detective conan the way I did, with split clips, and it was a struggle 😁❤😭
I kind of miss it though...
This reminded me of so much anime I forgot I even watched 🥺🥺🥺
OK.. Who's gonna die, cause i didn't see Iroduku: World of colors there?
LOVE that Death Parade was included
WTH, time went fast haha I've been a student for way too long
I watched all those 2010 anime’s you mentioned
I'm surprised that for a channel titled "Get in the robot" there was no mention made of Gundam Unicorn or Iron Blooded Orphans. Unless I somehow missed them.
Why I love 2015 and 2016 the years of hero’s and the years for us peeves
The end of ZA WARUDO did come
You were in middle school in 2010???
Me checking hulu to find out half of the ones I didn't already know of but want to see now that I do aren't available.
I am kind of sad that you didnt mention shield hero but good list i know its hard to make a list like this
I'm a simple girl, I see Your Lie In April, I click.
Tayla ! kaoriiiiiiiiiiiiii😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Can you please do some top 10 videos for Must-Watch shows in each genre of animé?
Also a top 10 animé starter pack/shows that’ll convince someone to love animé/shows for someone who wouldn’t be into animé
Please and thank you 🙏🏻
Speaking of anime movies in theaters, I actually saw "Mirai" in theaters with my mom. It was a very nice experience and almost made me cry at the end if I'm being honest. It was wholesome.
It's true. Her video about visuals is really good
There will be no other decade such as this 😥😢
my heart stopped when u said hetalia
the best part of the upcomming decade is that Haikyuu is finally BACK!!!!!!! after so many years waiting our favourite boys are back and more beautiful than ever!!
4:19 that transition tho 👀
Gotta respect the editor on this one. Check out his personal channel - TazerLad!
Yooo homestuck was fire you just gave me some flashbacks
The Madoka deconstruction meme never dies.
Magi Madoka I love it I swear
BRB, adding a couple hundred titles to my Crunch Roll Watch List
18:17 why am I addicted to this scene!?
Hetalia was my first anime in 8th grade in 2015 after my friend trying many times for me to watch anime
Saaaaame.
4:10 someone has watched too much Brian David Gilbert.
I'll let my body confess, the names that I can't express. It's time for the dream ballet.
“The end of the world did not happen” me quarantined a few months later:
Hehe we were so wrong
bro, nothing in all of the reminiscing videos i've watched to mark the end of the decade has made me DIE the way i did when i remembered that at age 8 i was watching Hetalia dubbed. that hit me right in the locked part of my subconscious.
When Dorrie says finger drum, you finger drum!
Overlord got such a small mention and I really loved that isekai!! 😭😭
Not gonna lie you mentioning hetalia gave me a smile....(anime was bad but still a part of the 2010 for hella sure)
Also yess natsume yuujinchouuu
We're back in the roarin 20s boys time to breakout the pennyfarth and strongmen
Death Parade was also a good one from this decade.
"... shonen pie"
Parasyte is seinen though.
Shooooooot. It’s always the seinen featuring high schoolers that mix me up. My bad! 😓
I wish she love me like she loves anime.
I am in my 30s, but did not get into anime into 2014, so this made me feel old and young at the same time.
It’s alright! Honestly, the more anime viewers the better!
It's funny this makes me feel older than younger. Like that get off my lawn old guy. I'm also in my 30s and anime has been amazing, don't get me wrong I like how much anime there is. Yet it feels like nothing has lasting power, it all ends up feeling like a flavor of the week. I feel that way because of how much anime there is you can't savor anything because it's on to the next one. I've been watching since the 90s so it has felt overwhelming.
After watching this I realize anime toyed with our hearts a lottttt mire than i thought it did
I don’t even watch anime but I gotta respect its growth last decade
You are really missing out man
Ibrahim Abdullahi I’ve seen mha but that’s it. I kinda just not a fan of the over the top stuff.
