Glad you are making this. I always listen to mono audio on my phone when listening to music. I've recently been working on a hard house style track and couldn't figure how the main lead sounded so different. Obviously the answer was the mono settings.
Hey buddy, really glad you made this video, but I think it would be way more easier to achieve this if you just turn on the mono output switch in settings from the iPad.
You’d think that but the mono output setting on the iPad only affects its speakers and headphones and not the processing! It would be stereo always unless you have software to force a mono mix...
What if you play a stereo track through a mono speaker? Would there be a difference in sound or is it like playing the stereo track through one speaker via the pan slider?

Very helpful and inspiring video, Dan! I like mono mixes from time to time and hadn’t thought of using the bass amp models to “mono-ize!”

Dan Baker Ok, you’re right, I only use this method to check if my mixing has any problem and my final masters would always be in stereo.
