I just found an M.adansonii today at a grocery store. I really wasn't looking for one, but I brought her home anyway. I really like the feel of the leaves. They're satiny like the Philo micans. Ugh, there were silver dragons at a Walmart that I was at a few days ago. They were gorgeous, but I wasn't able to get a plant that day. Maybe I should go back? Lol.
I was out the trend houseplant loop but I went shopping today and found a ficus umbellata in a big box store today for dirt cheap. ☺️ Not sure if it’s going to be fussy like the fiddle leaf but I tend to find ficus easy to care for. We’ll see!
Oddly enough pineapples are in the bromeliad family. FYI pineapple plants are the easiest ever to propagate cut off the top soak in in a cup oh water out gets roots in a couple of weeks. I have two I started last fall, they are about 2 feet tall and quite healthy with little care, still waiting for my pineapples
I live in Florida and we grown pineapples all the time but outside though. Pineapples 🍍 will not make a good house plant. You can’t keep humidity high enough or enough sun ☀️
I agree! I also live in Florida and have all my pineapple plants outside! The only time I have any of them inside is when Im rooting them and have them under grow lights. As soon as they are rooted enough, back outside they go! My bigger plants are 5ft across and about 4 feet tall, I can't imagine someone trying to grow that in their livingroom! 😂
Just searched for the black gold philodendron (which I had not heard before) and it seems to be another name for the p.melanochrysum, which I have heard of. Is that the same info that you have?
@@firozapatel9811 sorry just realised I’m referring to the wrong video. The white stuff in the Alocasia pot is perlite. I put a layer of that on top of the soil to try and stop fungus gnats getting in!
Or perhaps too much water, they are native to the Philippines and other places that are hot humid and sunny but the soil is sandy so they need good drainage

One of my wish list plants!

I’ll have to give that a try

We haven’t got the climate in the UK to grow pineapples outdoors sadly so growing indoors is the best chance we’ve got!

@@SheffieldMadePlants no problem brother, thanks again you give me answer perfect 😍
So the black gold philodendron is the same as the philodendron melanocrysum. Melanocrysum translates roughly into black gold. Easier to find that way
Ah right got ya
Dragon scale found at Home Depot in my area, and other ones too.
Wow. No chance to find that in any of my local stores.
My pineapple plant died unfortunately. I don’t know why 🥲
Oh dear. Not enough sun?
