the games camera has a lot of bizarre inertia. where weapons typically only have some form of sway at the hip stance, this game has it in almost every camera stance.

Other than that, the game is a 70$ dlc BO6 looks like MW3 but with a Cold War skin over it. Not to say that the game is bad or anything but it doesn’t look unique whatsoever.
Also the climate of gaming has changed since you’ve played so what’s considered a bad cod for you now might not for all the kids. Every game has sbmm now so for them it’s no different from the others in the market so they don’t complain because they’re already used to it.
The headshot barrel is ALSO useless unless you land ALL HEADSHOTS. Then it reduces bullets to kill by one. All it does is raise the HS multiplier from 1.1X to 1.2X, while increasing recoil by a crazy amount.
The TTK is definitely inconsistent, it could just be a ping issue but some times you 3-4 shot people and other times it takes half a mag at the same range. The reticle does go off centre like you said, i have a setting on my monitor to add a crosshair and the in game crosshair regularly shifts from it. The visual sway is obnoxious, i'd rather have more significant recoil to control, it would make the gunplay more interesting, each gunfight would be more satisfying.

Noticed that, but thought I was going crazy 😂. Think the hit boxes are messed up too, my aim is pretty straight and sometimes I don't even get a hit marker while they are in the air..
They're probably hiding the negatives so people use a wider variety. I wouldn't put it past them, they used to hide how many times you died in a match for a while

I can't believe there is no decent headshot multiplier. What ever happened to precision being rewarded. They have reduced the skill ceiling even more to lean more towards 'who ever shoots first wins', but really all its done is highlight how bad the servers are, because it's actually more like 'who ever has the best reg wins'. The amount of clips I have shooting first and hitting 3 to 4 shots but the kill ca. shows 1 or even no hits is ridiculous.
The "more realistic" movement is what Modern Warfare made good. MW2019 brought it back and it was a total hit. They finally brought COD back to how it should be.. then totally broke it in EVERY POSSIBLE WAY that was NOT broken with "MW2s" release. Then put a bullet in its head with 2023. no one mentions the broken and unnecessary change to netcode since MW2 (it is ridiculously bad yet not a peep from anyone). The poor control mechanism (i get huge bugs with control on PC, character does things i do not do, i have got sick of keeping recordings of it, character crouching when i dont' press buttons. Changing guns when i dont press buttons, not putting armor on when i press the button and having to do multiple presses to get it to put it on, the list goes on). Terrible servers (even with 30 LESS PLAYER COUNTS). THe gun balance is WORSE then WZ1, They nailed it with that version. The ridiculous change to high damage to most of the areas of the body but NOT to the head means no re-gains in battles you dont have the jump on someone with where as in WZ1 i won so many battle reacting to someone that shot me first because i had better aim. TO MUCH AUTO AIM/STICKY AIM. This needs to be taken down by 60 percent AT LEAST. No one misses a damn bullet. They STILL don't balance guns fast enough. We are STILL on a damn STG44 only game for far to long. Clearly it needs a nerf into the ground after no one uses anything else after a week. FFS. The list goes on.
Dude yes, I've been thinking about this all weekend, the new movement is pretty good but the gunplay makes everything feel so inconsistent it even makes the movement feel off
They have showed a track record against playing with skill and any amount of tactical thought in that skill. From match making that forces you to be penalized for doing better to their own statements on it all, that is obvious. Their track record is clear on it and no matter what they say the next game will be,, they will incorporate that into the game in some way, along with no balance in weapons so that there is a constantly changing meta weapon. I wish they could change but they won't, as they make way to much money by doing these things. The days of COD being great are sadly behind us, just like the BF series is dead as well, and neither are coming back to their greatness from the past.
Considering everyone is using the same weapon at this point (jackal) it's showing up the inconsistencies even more so. I thought I was crazy about the ADS sway lag whilst zooming in, you explained it better than I ever could
KBM player. The ADS thing you mention is probably why it feels like I'm almost getting 'aim assist' when shooting sometimes. It's all of a sudden hitting where I'm aiming and not.....all over the show!
I will add Flinch to the list of things that makes aim feel terrible in this game. its something i noticed right away. even with flinch reducers on weapons combined with the recoil it just doesnt feel good at all.
I have noticed a lot of these things in this second week of the beta, then I went back to MW3 and just went into the firing range and the difference is really weird. This might be the biggest difference in movement since jetpacks. It’s definitely going to be awful at first and knowing Activision and Treyarch, it probably won’t be fixed very fast. Ridiculous.
Just a thought. Regarding the rapid fire, it doesn’t necessarily increase the vertical or horizontal recoil from its current pattern. It simply changes the already existing recoil pattern to be expressed with the variation of fire rate. Makes sense it would. It simply speeds up the recoil pattern which could make it feel like it’s a negative with that ammo attachment. Just a thought.
It occurs to me that a really interesting (but possibly unintuitive) way to handle the headshot thing would be to make only the first shot of a string of fire deal bonus damage (and get the headshot hitmarker). That means small deliberate bursts could be rewarded, but spraying wouldn't yield lucky headshots.
@@IJoAnZI quite the opposite, if only the first bullet gets the bonus then prefiring doesn't work at all because you'd be forfeiting damage every time. As for head glitching, it would be less viable because using the bonus on a precise burst would wipe them quicker. The only downside is that it would tentatively slow the game down since it would punish sloppiness more.
I KNEW I WASNT CRAZY ABOUT THE “PULL TO THE LEFT” THING. I was trying to tell my buddies about it last night and they thought I was crazy, it messes me up SO often. How can I play this game the same way since 7th grade and now all of the sudden everything feels wonky and all types of messed up. It’s too wobbly and sickening to watch half of the time and as you said, I built muscle memory for so long and this game has me all out of whack. I can get crazy moments and kill chains but they’re few and far in between due to the jarring nature of the aim sometimes.

As much fun as I’m having, you are absolutely correct. Thankfully, this is an issue that can be addressed before release. And I know historically the studio has been pretty good about receiving feedback. so I hope they listen. Because aside from a few other things, this has been an incredibly enjoyable experience for me and everybody I know that’s playing it. Quite a few of my friends are quite disillusioned with call of duty and they’ve really been enjoying themselves. It would be a shame if they ignored this and pushed it forward.
I agree with the center dot issue noticed it too. the issue with the center dot was also in MW3 same as the sway issue, it took some time to fix. 😢 Also dmg feels inconsistent, sometimes I kill player in few shots and sometimes they are a raid boss.
It feels like the camera's set on a block of jello and every little change in direction or input just makes the view jiggle. Now that I think about it, the whole game feels like jello, including the omni movement system. The inability to change direction mid-slide doesn't help.
Buddy, you might be. This game is easy to pick up play 5+ rounds modify your settings if you are diamond+ in previous cod game this should not be difficult transition
If we go back in time to BO1, atrocious sniper centering was a purposeful feature Treyarch added into Multiplayer. Which makes it difficult to pin point if these are bugs or features
I wouldn’t mind seeing cod get harder and more realistic and play some what like battlefield hardline with bullet travel times and drop. But cod will always have that mediocre look to it. Hard to explain. These new games aren’t it. Also going back to this maybe all being a feature.. maybe it’s to balance the new movement? Who knows. This game will more than likely be hated.
To reduce the damage (and the risk) of weapons for the sake of movement spam is a big, red flag considering how awful the servers are going to be in relaying information back and forth to players.
and here I was telling my mate that it feels like there is a delay on input specifically to allow for omnimovement, now it makes sense with the ADS inconsistency. sigh
This makes so much sense now 😅 I put rapid fire on the jakal…. Changed every attachment and ingame setting ever since cause it was unreal. Never thought it could have been rapid fire that made it worse in the first place 🙈

I'm so glad you mentioned this. Nobody seems to be talking about it, and I feel if more people understood these things about gunplay and loadouts, they could play better. I actually like it though. I think it's near perfect and we'll balanced.

COD really needs to do away with the integration of realism elements into the direct gameplay, it's incredibly annoying trying to shoot at someone when you gun is shaking all over the place because of "immersion" Half the time it feels like I'm not shooting at the body in front of me and rather the red name because my gun is shaking around so hard that the only way I can track the enemy's location is by their bright red name
I've had a lot of desync issues, but the visual clarity is cheeks too. Thanks for putting the idle sway out there as feedback that hopefully gets worked on.
Some of the ads stuff you mentioned was to make bullet recoil more realistic. You would move a bit to the sides or upwards with a real gun.. but then even it out after the first shot or two. Idk if you have ever used guns.. but i have used a fair many... its pretty realistic in my eyes.
Honestly would love if they remove the tac sprint. I feel like I'm always doing it by accident and that it really doesn't help at all since its barely faster than the normal sprint+slide+flop on top of it hurting ads. Think it would make the omni movement easier.
Finally a Content Creator speaking on this. I thought I was going crazy because I have felt it all through the weekend and seemingly no one talks about it. Hopefully Treyarch fixes all of this, otherwise this is gonna be the end of my CoD journey. It is literally unplayable like this.
Good breakdown. This might be the first CoD in a long time I don't buy. The beta has been absolutely miserable. The lack of headshot multiplier in particular is infuriating. It means that it is much easier to lose to 2 bad players because you have no means of compensating for your lower health pool. Let's not get started on the complete absence of enemy footstep audio. Basically I think Treyarch explicitly made this CoD for casuals and do not care about core gamers. I don't expect them to rework much of what you criticized because they aren't missteps. They are conscious design decisions.
Thanks for making this video Tbrit! I've watched aton of videos this morning on Bo6 this morning and this one was by far the most informative. Things do feel very weird. But the worst part is TTK. It almost feels like watered down hardcore mode.
There is also a huge slow ADS in time problem. With the quick movement of this game having coupled with extremely slow and inconsistent ADS time creates terrible gunfights for both rushers and campers. Couple this with the terribly slow reload speed and it makes the gun fights feel awful.
my hot take is that they have intentionally made it bad (damage drop off, hidden negative perks on recoilless attachment's, floaty scope play) and are forcing people to play with close quarter guns to get good highlights to post online as something super flashy and cool to show off their new movement system, to make sales for the game.
I wonder if any of these design decisions were made in order to mitigate sniper domination. I'd like to prevent snipers from dominating the meta of yet another cod, but maybe the choices they made for this one aren't ideal
Also try the AK your 1 shot will hit where you aim but the second and i think the 3rd one too, will no matter how strong you push down on your stick or mouse not hit where you aim. I got so mad never used it after that. Also love the video.
Felt like I was going insane, the headshot thing really confused me, until I found out about the attachment. the visual clarity is an annoying thing too, at times I'm confused on what I should be looking at, and it makes it very disorienting. I have died and looked at killcams of people just seeing my name and they shoot through the immense amount visual clutter. At times I think its better to be looking out for the nametag instead and then shooting below it.
Thats exactly what you do, yes. Look for the name tag, I quite often get kills through smoke and other screen clutter that way. Especially with a sniper.
the attachment system needs to be significantly stripped down. honestly i'm almost at the point where i wish they would just remove it completely so they can actually get a handle on weapon balancing

What's sad and crazy at the same time is that Call of Duty has literally gotten to the point where players (especially seasoned), either hate the gameplay or aren't willing to accept the changes made. I played Beta and at this point, despite the omni movement, it's just another, get ready...XDEFIANT. XDEFIANT was nowhere near being the COD Killer, in fact, just in case no one knew, it was made by X-Activision folks. Makes sense right? It was basically COD with new maps and with vivid color. It had all the movements like COD, bunny jump shots, sniper/ pistol advantages and more just like COD. And yes,. the omni movement algorithm needs to seriously be fixed, ALTHOUGH, I did love how it gave R&G players the advantage they deserved. I hate snipers, but the omni movement "CQB," distance gave me such an advantage shot over quick-scopers. I guess we'll have to see if the necessary fixes happen. I'm just worried that people aren't either expressing enough of their disappointments, or, majorly like them.
I honestly really enjoy the sway and recoil. It has a realistic feel to it and I love the way I automatically lean around corners and it helps make mantle feel more natural. It feels fluid and I really enjoy it so far

As someone who has around 5k hrs on CODs on PC I though I was going crazy when I couldnt hit some of the enemies or track them even tho I was aiming directly at them
Treyarch - "should we learn from the mistakes that MW2 made with their development and final product" NO lets just make similar mistakes but Treyarch them. ALOT of these issues are the things that were wrong in MW2 like scope sway, centre dot not being centre fire, lying on attachments and accuracy of information, visual recoil and issues.
I just wish we could get non-respawn matches like S&D soon. I don't want to wait until October for actual tactical movement in game to take place. Right now everyone runs around like a headless chicken

It's unfortunate that The CoD line has become garbage, used to love it and play it daily but it got so repetitive like they just used the same resources from previous games in a lazy attempt to get more money. That and when I purchased the remake of MW2 for nearly $100 on pre-order, money came out of my account and all, yet when it released they said I didn't buy it and needed to purchase it AGAIN and they wouldn't acknowledge my initial payment nor would they refund me. CoD needs to die off, maybe they'll start putting out quality games again but too many fanboys will buy every one of their titles no matter how bad they are. Stop supporting these rip off artists.

Pretty sure the weapon being initially offset when you aim while sliding and moving is intentional. I mean, that's what happens when you aim while moving. And there should be some kind of penalty to it in game. Omnimovement is already ridiculous enough as is
The thing that did it for me to not like this game is optimization and bad performance on older pc. my rtx 3060ti ryzen 5600x 32gb 3600mhz ram just couldnt handle the game at 1440p on very low. the only way is to turn dlss on and the game looks very blurry without fidelity CAS. and the damn devs made filmic smaa or taa a forced on option and you cant turnoff anti aliasing like in modern warfare 1 and 2. very very bad decision.

Me and og mw2 gang all seem to think the gunplay is better than most newer cods.
I've been playing since COD 4 and think the gunplay here feels off.

It simply changes the already existing recoil pattern to be expressed with the variation of fire rate. Makes sense it would. It simply speeds up the recoil pattern which could make it feel like it’s a negative with that ammo attachment. Just a thought.

It occurs to me that a really interesting (but possibly unintuitive) way to handle the headshot thing would be to make only the first shot of a string of fire deal bonus damage (and get the headshot hitmarker). That means small deliberate bursts could be rewarded, but spraying wouldn't yield lucky headshots.
This sounds like a perfect solution, a small headstart but nothing that could melt you in milliseconds.

@@IJoAnZI quite the opposite, if only the first bullet gets the bonus then prefiring doesn't work at all because you'd be forfeiting damage every time. As for head glitching, it would be less viable because using the bonus on a precise burst would wipe them quicker.
The only downside is that it would tentatively slow the game down since it would punish sloppiness more.

I KNEW I WASNT CRAZY ABOUT THE “PULL TO THE LEFT” THING. I was trying to tell my buddies about it last night and they thought I was crazy, it messes me up SO often. How can I play this game the same way since 7th grade and now all of the sudden everything feels wonky and all types of messed up. It’s too wobbly and sickening to watch half of the time and as you said, I built muscle memory for so long and this game has me all out of whack. I can get crazy moments and kill chains but they’re few and far in between due to the jarring nature of the aim sometimes.
It's very easy. Get rid of SBMM and EOMM. Get rid of stupid skins. Make the game like MW2 and BO2. It would break record sales.

As much fun as I’m having, you are absolutely correct. Thankfully, this is an issue that can be addressed before release. And I know historically the studio has been pretty good about receiving feedback. so I hope they listen. Because aside from a few other things, this has been an incredibly enjoyable experience for me and everybody I know that’s playing it. Quite a few of my friends are quite disillusioned with call of duty and they’ve really been enjoying themselves. It would be a shame if they ignored this and pushed it forward.
I agree with the center dot issue noticed it too. the issue with the center dot was also in MW3 same as the sway issue, it took some time to fix. 😢 Also dmg feels inconsistent, sometimes I kill player in few shots and sometimes they are a raid boss.
It feels like the camera's set on a block of jello and every little change in direction or input just makes the view jiggle. Now that I think about it, the whole game feels like jello, including the omni movement system. The inability to change direction mid-slide doesn't help.

If we go back in time to BO1, atrocious sniper centering was a purposeful feature Treyarch added into Multiplayer. Which makes it difficult to pin point if these are bugs or features
I wouldn’t mind seeing cod get harder and more realistic and play some what like battlefield hardline with bullet travel times and drop. But cod will always have that mediocre look to it. Hard to explain. These new games aren’t it.
Also going back to this maybe all being a feature.. maybe it’s to balance the new movement? Who knows. This game will more than likely be hated.

To reduce the damage (and the risk) of weapons for the sake of movement spam is a big, red flag considering how awful the servers are going to be in relaying information back and forth to players.
and here I was telling my mate that it feels like there is a delay on input specifically to allow for omnimovement, now it makes sense with the ADS inconsistency. sigh
This makes so much sense now 😅 I put rapid fire on the jakal…. Changed every attachment and ingame setting ever since cause it was unreal. Never thought it could have been rapid fire that made it worse in the first place 🙈

I'm so glad you mentioned this. Nobody seems to be talking about it, and I feel if more people understood these things about gunplay and loadouts, they could play better. I actually like it though. I think it's near perfect and we'll balanced.

COD really needs to do away with the integration of realism elements into the direct gameplay, it's incredibly annoying trying to shoot at someone when you gun is shaking all over the place because of "immersion"
Half the time it feels like I'm not shooting at the body in front of me and rather the red name because my gun is shaking around so hard that the only way I can track the enemy's location is by their bright red name

non-centred aim and centre-dot sway is a deterrent for aimbot cheats, it's never been confirmed but i'm pretty convinced of it.
Some of the ads stuff you mentioned was to make bullet recoil more realistic. You would move a bit to the sides or upwards with a real gun.. but then even it out after the first shot or two. Idk if you have ever used guns.. but i have used a fair many... its pretty realistic in my eyes.
My gun did a weirdness earlier and literally dumped a whole mag into someone in one short burst, it sounded CRAZY

Honestly would love if they remove the tac sprint. I feel like I'm always doing it by accident and that it really doesn't help at all since its barely faster than the normal sprint+slide+flop on top of it hurting ads. Think it would make the omni movement easier.

Finally a Content Creator speaking on this. I thought I was going crazy because I have felt it all through the weekend and seemingly no one talks about it. Hopefully Treyarch fixes all of this, otherwise this is gonna be the end of my CoD journey. It is literally unplayable like this.
Good breakdown. This might be the first CoD in a long time I don't buy. The beta has been absolutely miserable. The lack of headshot multiplier in particular is infuriating. It means that it is much easier to lose to 2 bad players because you have no means of compensating for your lower health pool.
Let's not get started on the complete absence of enemy footstep audio.
Basically I think Treyarch explicitly made this CoD for casuals and do not care about core gamers. I don't expect them to rework much of what you criticized because they aren't missteps. They are conscious design decisions.
Im actually enjoying the gunplay in bo6, maybe it just matches my play style idk but it feels better than it did in recent years, to me anyways

Thanks for making this video Tbrit! I've watched aton of videos this morning on Bo6 this morning and this one was by far the most informative. Things do feel very weird. But the worst part is TTK. It almost feels like watered down hardcore mode.
There is also a huge slow ADS in time problem. With the quick movement of this game having coupled with extremely slow and inconsistent ADS time creates terrible gunfights for both rushers and campers. Couple this with the terribly slow reload speed and it makes the gun fights feel awful.
my hot take is that they have intentionally made it bad (damage drop off, hidden negative perks on recoilless attachment's, floaty scope play) and are forcing people to play with close quarter guns to get good highlights to post online as something super flashy and cool to show off their new movement system, to make sales for the game.
I wonder if any of these design decisions were made in order to mitigate sniper domination. I'd like to prevent snipers from dominating the meta of yet another cod, but maybe the choices they made for this one aren't ideal
Also try the AK your 1 shot will hit where you aim but the second and i think the 3rd one too, will no matter how strong you push down on your stick or mouse not hit where you aim. I got so mad never used it after that. Also love the video.
Felt like I was going insane, the headshot thing really confused me, until I found out about the attachment. the visual clarity is an annoying thing too, at times I'm confused on what I should be looking at, and it makes it very disorienting. I have died and looked at killcams of people just seeing my name and they shoot through the immense amount visual clutter. At times I think its better to be looking out for the nametag instead and then shooting below it.
Thats exactly what you do, yes. Look for the name tag, I quite often get kills through smoke and other screen clutter that way. Especially with a sniper.

I think I noticed it with IRON sites on the AK while in a prone lean. Hit markers were not where I was aiming.
the attachment system needs to be significantly stripped down. honestly i'm almost at the point where i wish they would just remove it completely so they can actually get a handle on weapon balancing
i found it weird too that they didnt list the negative drawbacks on the attachments. thats how i got to this video lol because i was searching for the stats.

This is crazy the center dot moves like a jumping bean , I had to turn on the reticle on my monitor it jumps and bounces all over the reticle
What's sad and crazy at the same time is that Call of Duty has literally gotten to the point where players (especially seasoned), either hate the gameplay or aren't willing to accept the changes made. I played Beta and at this point, despite the omni movement, it's just another, get ready...XDEFIANT. XDEFIANT was nowhere near being the COD Killer, in fact, just in case no one knew, it was made by X-Activision folks. Makes sense right? It was basically COD with new maps and with vivid color. It had all the movements like COD, bunny jump shots, sniper/ pistol advantages and more just like COD. And yes,. the omni movement algorithm needs to seriously be fixed, ALTHOUGH, I did love how it gave R&G players the advantage they deserved. I hate snipers, but the omni movement "CQB," distance gave me such an advantage shot over quick-scopers. I guess we'll have to see if the necessary fixes happen. I'm just worried that people aren't either expressing enough of their disappointments, or, majorly like them.
I honestly really enjoy the sway and recoil. It has a realistic feel to it and I love the way I automatically lean around corners and it helps make mantle feel more natural. It feels fluid and I really enjoy it so far
I've been enjoying the Beta a TON but these are some really valid criticisms and I hope Treyarch isnt going to be entirely deaf to people talking about this stuff.

Treyarch - "should we learn from the mistakes that MW2 made with their development and final product" NO lets just make similar mistakes but Treyarch them. ALOT of these issues are the things that were wrong in MW2 like scope sway, centre dot not being centre fire, lying on attachments and accuracy of information, visual recoil and issues.
I just wish we could get non-respawn matches like S&D soon. I don't want to wait until October for actual tactical movement in game to take place. Right now everyone runs around like a headless chicken

On Xbox when I aim down sight the barrel seems to dip slightly before lifting back up and centring.
It's unfortunate that The CoD line has become garbage, used to love it and play it daily but it got so repetitive like they just used the same resources from previous games in a lazy attempt to get more money. That and when I purchased the remake of MW2 for nearly $100 on pre-order, money came out of my account and all, yet when it released they said I didn't buy it and needed to purchase it AGAIN and they wouldn't acknowledge my initial payment nor would they refund me. CoD needs to die off, maybe they'll start putting out quality games again but too many fanboys will buy every one of their titles no matter how bad they are. Stop supporting these rip off artists.

The jakl SMG needs to be nerfed big time, it's all I see in multi-player and it's out gunning almost everything consistently.

Why can’t we just have simple damage variations like we have on some guns now in MW3??? Head/neck, torso and extremities so at least there is some incentive for hitting your shots.
Pretty sure the weapon being initially offset when you aim while sliding and moving is intentional. I mean, that's what happens when you aim while moving. And there should be some kind of penalty to it in game. Omnimovement is already ridiculous enough as is
"30 damage at 15 meter, 7 damage at 20 meters" not if you're using the Jackal, it has a 100m max damage range.

The thing that did it for me to not like this game is optimization and bad performance on older pc. my rtx 3060ti ryzen 5600x 32gb 3600mhz ram just couldnt handle the game at 1440p on very low. the only way is to turn dlss on and the game looks very blurry without fidelity CAS. and the damn devs made filmic smaa or taa a forced on option and you cant turnoff anti aliasing like in modern warfare 1 and 2. very very bad decision.
