    Great tips Dr. Rupa! As a long time contact lens wearer, I’ve experienced eye infections from the very things you discussed. One thing that has worked for me is using baby shampoo to remove my eye makeup. Also, never go to bed with eye makeup on. Sounds cliche but I’ve had to learn that lesson more than once. Appreciate your videos so much!!!

      I wear contacts and realized it was liner causing excessive dryness and irritation when I tightlined. There's only two brands that don't cause irritation or dryness when I tightline. The Sephora Brand Retractable Eyeliners and NYX Retractable Eyeliners.

    • @DrRupaWong

      I love the look of tightlining. Baseline - it's not great if you have dry eyes. And, it really can exacerbate problems (like causing itching in your case!) when wearing contacts. Just do it right underneath the lash line to be safe!

    Useful video. What about those who wear toric lenses but have plus power ? To put on the make properly, I think I see better without the lenses, but after I put them on I am not satisfied as I can see the under eye dark circles or bags which have not been covered adequately . So vision wise also, with toric but with someone who is in her early 60's , should I wear the lenses and put on make up?

    Thank you Dr. Rupa.... I have a question about my contacts not getting clean. I have monthly soft contacts and by the third or fourth day of wear I have a hard time getting the contact clean. It usually has a moon shaped cloud that won't come off easily even after cleaning them as you demonstrated and also soaking overnight. I use a mascara primer and also a shadow primer on my lid. Could this be the problem?

    Is tight-lining with non-waterproof eyeliner pencil any safer if you use rewetting drops like *Blink-n clean Dry contacts lens drops* after application and several times throughout the day? It claims to remove protein deposit build up from lenses when used as directed.

    Thank you so much even tho I have always washed my hands right before I am putting contact lenses and I never use hand towel to dry them cause my doctor told me it’s one of the places with most bacteria and leaves tiny hair on your fingers so I use a strong one time use paper towels to dry my hands which I think is really good advice from my doctor but I had no idea I need to put it before my moisturizer which makes sense cause even tho I wash my hands the moisturzer can be really hard to wash off with soap and water cause I use the ones that are more thic and ofc because it’s on my eyelids already🤦🏻‍♀️

    • @DrRupaWong
      @DrRupaWong  2 роки тому +6

      It can still happen. Probably the type of makeup. Certain shadows can have more fall out than others and mascara is also a notorious culprit (this happens to me too). Put in a drop of preservative free artificial tears to help get the particles out

    Thanks for the video. Is there any scientific evidence regarding eyelashes falling out due to curling them? I remember hearing this before but was not sure if this is true or not. I have an eyelash curler and I clean it with alcohol before and after use to prevent any bacteria to get in my eyes, but does the physical action of curling them have any side effects?

    I always put my contacts in first because my eyes tear a bit afterward and I didn't want to ruin my makeup.
    I avoid glitter like a plague. With or without my contacts in, glitter shadow irritates my eyes. It seems to refuse to rinse out and gets caught underneath my lids, and each time I blink I feel it scratching my eyeballs. UGH!

    • @DrRupaWong

I wanna wear my contacts however once I’m all done getting ready, I’m pretty sure I have to take them out because you are only supposed to keep your lens in for 5 hours.
