Thanks for watching, Jack! I’m with ya… I’ve done it a few times and always as an overnight, but this was a nice way to enjoy it even more! Thanks again!
Beautiful hike and so fitting for "Living Water" reference. I definitely need to check it out. Am more of a day hiker and appreciate your ideas for Michigan hikes that aren't to far for a local guy like me. Blessings
Thank you for watching!! Glad you appreciated the “Living Water” reference (even though I didn’t get the verse quite right!) If you get the chance, this is a great trail for day hiking as well and think you would really enjoy it! Thanks, again!
Just what everybody wants to hear when they're out in the forest.Trying to relax some clown on their dirt bike next time. Why don't you bring your leaf blower with you
Thanks for watching! And subscribing! I absolutely 100%, recommend this trail. I can guarantee it will be a time you will never forget! Wishing you all the best!! Happy trails!
i do this trail twice almost every year. well over 2 dozen times in total. always enjoy watching videos of the loop. have found that eddington creek has the coldest water. one of these days, i am going to measure all of the stream temps.
Oh man! You’d love it… Seriously, if you ever want to plan something, I’d love the chance to do something like this with ya. We had some good times, a long time ago!! And thanks for watching, of course!
@@tridudyonthetrail We're going to make this happen for sure. I'll start looking at dates and see how that lines up with you...would be a sweet reunion my brother!
Looks like a good weekend hike! I’m putting this on my list. Only about 6 hours from me. Thanks for virtually taking me along! PS - Danny seems like a good guy!
Thanks for watching!! I’m a bit jealous this is in your backyard!! I bet you get some good use on it! And yes, Danny is indeed, a good fella! FYI, just checked your channel and looks like I’m going to need to up my game with some of your tips!! Happy trails!
You're such a considerate hiking partner. I've only watched a couple videos of yours, but thoroughly enjoyed it. Keep up the good work! This is my favorite hiking trail so far in the Lower Peninsula.
Aw shucks! lol! I definitely try to be a good hiking buddy, so thanks for the compliment! And thanks for watching! And subscribing!! And I agree with you that this is the gem of the lower peninsula!!
The NCT sure does look a lot easier without all the snow! Great one, Tridudy! Makes me wanna get back out there to do the loop again. Keep on keeping on!
Thanks for watching!! Trust me, I was thinking about our time and how much easier the entire trip was... including making a fire after our miserable attempt! lol!
I've done this loop once. Last September. Parked in the same Upper River Road trail head and also went clockwise. I stayed in a different site ( I don't remember the number) but that area is full of such great ones. That is definitely one of my favorite backpacking spots and I would love to go back. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching!! It is definitely a gem and the views are awesome! Definitely encourage you to get back and do it again!! Thanks, again! Happy trails!!
Watched this last night on the big television with the missus..... lovely video Mark...brought back a lot of memories of my own trip... i might have actually camped at 3B second night, it really is a beautiful view but a long way from the water 😄.... those puddin's looked delicious ... might have to get me some of them on my next trip😛😛 Think im going to do an overnighter on the 'Zirkel Circle' with some flyfishing thrown in... its up by Steamboat Co... that is when the darn weather sorts out whats its doing... its snowing today here !! anyhoo thanks for taking us along on your adventure with Danny it was great... atb Dave Mc
Thanks for watching, Dave!! And those "puddins" as you call them were indeed delicious!! I actually looked up "Zirkel Circle" and, Dave, that looks amazing! Hoping your winter weather takes a break so you can get out there and we can vicariously live through your Colorado adventures! Thank again, Dave!
Sweet video! I’ve bikepacked the NCT on my mountain bike from Baldwin to Traverse City so I’ve rode the NCT section you hiked. This video makes me want to hike this loop during fall for the colors!
Thanks for watching!! I really dig this part of the state! A few years back I visited this loop in October, and as you are suggesting, the colors were absolutely fantastic! Highly recommend!
Thanks for watching!! I hope you have a fantastic trip! So, the route that we took, before crossing the suspension bridge, there are no designated campsites, like there are on the Manistee River Trail (west side). There are several dispersed sites that you will come across, and that is one that we found for our first night. Happy trails!!
Man, Mark. That’s a beautiful area. Good stuff and a lot of great views and camps along the Manistee! I could see sitting there enjoying my morning coffee.✌️
I have lived there my entire life. Sometimes I take for granted the area in which I live.
Thanks for watching!! I think we’re all guilty of taking things for granted when it’s in our backyard. I know I am! Thanks, again!
I did this trip three years ago on my 70th birthday, I did it in two days but should have taken three. This was my first overnighter.
Thanks for watching, Jack! I’m with ya… I’ve done it a few times and always as an overnight, but this was a nice way to enjoy it even more! Thanks again!
Looks Like So Much Fun❤
Thank you for watching! We had such a great time!

Where did you get the map in the beginning of the video?
Thanks for watching… I downloaded the map from the US Forest Service website: www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/fseprd493793.pdf
Hey that's my brother! Beautiful views, looks like you had a great time!
Thanks for watching! And yes, we had a great time! Really enjoyed hanging out with Danny!
