You can time lapse longer with your gopro.
Your GoPro can time-lapse for days, months or even years with the Cam-do Solar Up Kit.
I have been used the Cam-do Timelapse kits for many years now and they have helped me capture some great construction time lapse footage. They are a solid kit and well made.

Is this the gopro 12? Does it work with 12?

As of right now support goes up to the 11, but they seam to make frequent updates.
