Well yeah; it's a mod weapon from a mod that has all sorts of OP stuff lol
@@DCdabest lol yeah it's like reapers but on steroids
That ai feels more alive than you are
@Behemoth Nah, look at those Ai in phase ships and they are just stupid.
@L Weaver nah if you make them really fast they fly around like mad men. It's fun to watch
And its solid proof that Games are not meant to be played by humans
That's HORRIFYING. Its not a ship, its a doomsday device.
But the really scary thing is........
...I *just* found a paragon blueprint in my game.
Maybe the Luddic path has a point. Maybe technology has gone too far. Maybe for the good of humanity and delicate balance of power in the sector I should destroy this blueprint right now!
....is what I would say if I hadn't just right click on it three seconds ago...
You should make YT vids with speeches like that
Doom phase destroyer
It not a doomsday device if there nothing else to destroy
you should have disposed of it propperly by selling it to pirates
@@olegoleg258 oH DEAR GOD, NO.
Send a screenshot of what happens
4 tackylance is alright; I prefer 4 autopulsers with extended mags for maximum dakka. Makes great fighter killing too. Just sweep a volley over an incoming swarm and enjoy the popcorn.
4 plasma canons for the win!
Autopulse lasers are fun, but their problem is that once the charges are expended, the DPS drops to that of a regular pulse laser. They work best on ships which can weave in and out of combat to recharge the capacitors, such as the Odyssey.
As for 4 plasma cannon - sounds fun, doesn't work. Even the Paragon doesn't have the flux stats to sustain four plasmas.
@@ThinBear4 Well yeah, pulsers run dry when you spam them, but then you've probably annihilated an entire wave of stuff and have a moment to let them recharge. Not all ships are meant to sustain infinite weapons fire AND shields forever. Always gotta remember you're meant to take a breather between skirmishes.
@@therealbahamut Hence my point that they only work well on ships which are able to break the skirmish to take a breather. With Paragon in particular - and its low speed - this only happens when you destroy every enemy ship in a wave. It's built like a fortress - it cannot run away when autopulsers run out and there are still enemies at its face. Therefore, it performs better with sustained fire weapons, like plasma cannons or tach-lances.
@@ThinBear4 Your mileage may vary I suppose...but tach and plasma can't exactly sweep a cloud of fighters either.
I mean I guess lances CAN, sort of.
The Paragon is so endgame that it practically finishes the damn thing for you
Why buy one if you can sell the blueprints in the Black Market and watch the world burn XD.
lol, i must try that! Does that realy work?
bruh do the pirate actualy use the blueprints or is it a mod
@@tartine2463 yes they do, the pirate are the only faction that use the blueprint you sell to them, you just have to wait a few months
Apparently you can also sell them nanoforge, and they will use it to create better quality ship
@@vicic2779 The nanoforge is a myth, in fact it works almost opposite to BP. If you sell a BP on a black market on any planet, no mater the faction, the pirates will use it. If you sell nanoforges on the black market nothing happens BUT if you sell nanoforges on the OPEN market, that planet will upgrade an industry with it. If you want op pirates, sell BP on the black market and nanoforges on the open market of a pirate military base with heavy industry.
Stick a couple anti-shield hard flux weapons on it and you can solo a radiant, good stuff
You *bought* a paragon ?
* Laughs in mass produced paragons *
Doesn't work well at all in the current version.
Remnants just have too tanky shields, and four tachyon lances only tickle them without some dedicated shield breaker. HMGs don't serve that role, due to their range which is shorter than that of a bad breath.
It's still hella fun when used against regular faction enemies, as it absolutely deletes anything low-tech and midline (and high-tech too with some shield breaker), but that's it.
gotta strap some heavy needlers into that boi
@@BaoNguyen-uu5em Tried that - nope. Too much flux consumption, too much OP cost, and just two heavy needlers simply don't do enough damage against ships which have maxed out elite combat skills, including the shield skill (which not only reduces incoming damage, but lets them passively vent a portion of that hard flux from needlers while keeping up shields).
Remnants are actualy scary nowdays. As they should be. But even more fun when you get a handful of new factions with new ships, weapons and mods. 😀
for anyone who does not want to field such a big fleet... the main paragon and two monitor ships is all you need ... One plays distract while the other stays by the main flagship
My tips : just own 5-6 paragons, with that you can beat everything in this game... i mean literally all of em
This is the way
Low Settings did you try using the medium sized anti shield beam(forgetting the name)?
@@asdasd-ty9se ah yes, graviton beams
Only sad thing about the Paragon, is that it is the best high tech Vanilla ship. But there are some insane things that can stomp it with Faction Mods.
depends on the mod, i have asp, junk pirates, blade breakers, imperium, dassault, blackrock and some others, paragon is still stomping with carrier support. mods will always ruin some aspect of balance
There really arnt though, unless you dig up the porpousfully.balanve breaking chinese bullshit, or memes like the neutrino hammer.
Very few have comparable firepower, none have btter range, or better survivability
@@ineednochannelyoutube5384 Ahem: experimental missile battlecruiser with 4 semibreves and 8 swarm missile launchers that I forgot the name of
Hey you see that ship?
*Paragon Fires*
Nope
Yup, a no-skill ship there. Absolutely love it. You can grab snacks with your free hand while deleting stuff from existence. Or just press U - it's still gonna be fine.
I often drop a Paragon into an already strong fleet and it really is just a win button with some very common-sense and easy to get builds. Four Autopulse isn't the best but it is a very good budget build with expanded mags.
Yep, was nice at the time, now.. not so much. I use mine mostly to put near constant pressure on the opponent ships/fighters with pretty much the same mods but more beams(only two tachyons though). It's good for control but not the death dealing from several patches ago.
You clearly havent fitted it with High Frequency crystals and tachyons
I see a precursor to the Deathstar
Our cruisers cannot repel firepower of that magnitude!
Oh man, 4 Tachyon Lances just DELETES smaller ships. And here I was thinking i was clever for putting autopulsers on the front and plasma cannons on the turrets.
It's useless on its own against a battleship with good flux and shield hardness though
@@samarkand1585 Perhaps. I usually rely on a 1-2 punch of specialized "shield breaker" cruisers followed by bombers to take on battleships. tends to be more cost effective for me. I'd much prefer my battleships to trivialize smaller ship classes and to spearhead attacks on big space stations, rather than be my counter for other battleships.
@@johnyendrey5590 As we saw here, with just a single Conquest providing hard flux support, four Tachys was more than enough to overwhelm a Radiant. Probably could be done with another beam ship itself, too; just need a way to pin it down so you can keep it fluxing, and let the Tachys ion them to hell and back.
Fully armed and operational Death Star.
One of the first blueprints I've found is a paragon.
I had a low tech and pirate pack, besides that, but the paragon is my first 'real' ship.
Going to be interesting when I can mass produce them.
Mass producing them is the painfull step
I like Auxiliary Thrusters over turret gyros so I can aim the main guns easier
Huh, i usually avoid no-hard-flux weapons like the plague because they seem lame. Well jokes on me it seems.
For normal ships I go with efficiency, focused on anti shield. For phase ships burst damage, usually anti armor
Z Zs either or, I was using steady officers and was going for attrition on enemy flux, using heavy auto cannon on ballistic mounts and graviton beam or high intensity on energy, I have stayed away from missiles mostly (did mount dual medium salamanders on a paragon as a joke) due to their lack of ammunition, projectile health, damage and or tracking. I instead opted to rely on bomber spam for anti armor early to mid game till I got good large energy weapons (tachyon lance or high intensity) on a paragon.
That was disgusting. I love it.
Wow, somehow I never though that I didn't have to populate every weapon slot.
ngl, what psychopath puts the atlas and prometheus first and puts your combat ships at the end of your fleet
Lol I just got a paragon blueprint 30 mins into my second ever game. Can barely afford to built it yet but the blueprint is already there
I'm only miss some nice music on the background, like the nocturne op.9, etc...
even with my limited understanding of Starsector, I must say, that thing is terrifying..
the main advantage of having paragons in your fleet is you get more deployment points. 4 or 5 paragons with nothing fancy, only Augmented Drive Field and Efficiency Overhaul, and eventually mining lasers and blasters if one plays nexerelin, to transform them into mining vessels. The rest drovers only. Spam fighters and bombers. Broadsword and Longbow, or go all Flash bombers. Make the drovers faster, capital ships can be outrun, and whatever can't be outrun gets wrecked by your fighters first. You can destroy three ordo at one with the right setup and orders
Alternate title to this video "haha, Tachyon Lance goes *WWWWHOOOOOM* "
this came up in my recommendations. it feels like a sign I should use gigacannons on the paragon again. one of the few things that can scare a radiant away.
Ants under microscopes be like. : 2:16
2:00 that was just painfull to watch, you know 2 of those tachyons are on turrets right
I was wondering why yours is so much better than mine (besides the fact that I suck) and realized it got nerfed. So sadge, hope they eventually give the paragon a proper role at some point other than making me die inside every time it gets separated from the fleet.
I guess Paragons had a lot more OP back in the day to make a build like that work. One could say they were too OP?
Paragons go with Onslaughts like peanutbutter and jelly?
Next try 4 plasma guns, its less manageable flux wise but it gets things killed a little faster and with a much higher fire rate as well as generating hard flux on shields as opposed to lazars.
Nah, OP price is too high, you gotta make sacrifices for plasma, it's not worth it IMO. I think this ship works the best when it is fitted for a massive alpha strike, not continuous DPS. First, it's kinda difficult to keep target in range if it is faster than you (and there is not a whole lot of things in this game that are slower than Paragon) plus plasma bolts are, although fast, but not as immediate as beam weapons. Second, melting stuff from distance is way more efficient with flux than trying to keep it in range while it potentially lures you out of safety into unfavorable position. I really think Paragon and tach lances are made for each other. The synergy is just perfect. It is slow, but it doesn't matter since you can pretty much one shot anything up to cruiser from 2200 (with advanced optics) being completely safe not even having to raise the shield. It may feel lame but it really is the most efficient use of this ship, I think. Also, you want the highest possible base range weapon to get maximum from the built-in hullmod. With advanced optics tach lance outranges plasma cannon by 800, that difference itself is bigger than the whole range of absolute majority of the weapons in game, including the plasma cannon. Not using such a huge advantage is a crime against common sense.
@@oberonmeister You are free to use any build you desire. you want your Paragon for long range support, i want mine to be a tank.
@@Endgunner of course bro, you are right, everyone fits anything they like. I'm not sure about the term "support" though. Is it technically correct to call a support something that brings you about 80% of frags on the field? Besides, there is nothing to support since most of the time I only have 3 of those in a battle (rarely adding an Astral, which is not efficient of course, 3 Astrals and 2 Paragons are better, but I just like Paragons better, so again you are right - everyone fits ships the way they like it which is not always the most efficient).
@@oberonmeister Once you start fighting large amounts of [REDACTED] then you will understand that generating hard flux is VERY important. Your ship will be delegated to a support role as all it will be good for is arcing thru shields whole your other ships deal hard flux to take the shields down.
@@Endgunner I have. Believe it or not, I played over a dozen of campaigns by now, with and without mods. I know very well how to fight them. Beam Paragons still work just fine, all I need to do is add couple more Astrals or whatever best carriers I have in my fleet and focus on Radiants when they are in range. That's it. But again, everyone can build their fleets in whatever way they feel is the best. I like beam Paragons and they work for me.

i need tachon lance blueprint but i cant override my main pre-mod save and so no prism free port for blueprints and i scavenged entire sector i found odyssey paragon onslaught XIV legion XIV and many more (especially doom) and i need these to make paragon instant DEATH
mhhh... i'd be impressed if not for the fact that you put in the fight 4 battleships, against 2 battleships fleet , i know there were alot of other small destroyers\cruisers , but in a direct battle the number of battleships is the strenght of the fleet , the other ships litteraly just distracted some of your battleships .
its still a good showcase of the tachyon lance and the paragon strenght
and i find those red battleships ( can't remember the name i will damn myself later) are the best frontline battleship in the game.
The Paragon is more than capable of soloing that fight, though granted it takes expert positioning.
A lot got nerfed in starsector since this video was made. You can't oneshot flugens with 4 lances now. I tried some of your fleets from other videos fighting remnants and they mostly don't work anymore. I mean they work, but you'd take losses. I find that with .95a more balanced and dynamic fleets work better and actually remnants are way more powerful now. I do better by improving my deployment efficiency rather then bringing 4 capital ships. From what I see in this video against some types you're doing nearly double damage from what I have measured. Granted I don't use full combat skills, but that can't account for the difference. So yeah maybe once upon a time it was that way, but no more.
Doom cruisers will never be stopped tho
@@samuelcrow4701 chemotherapy from discord or the one on the forums that reworks them but keeps minelayer, those are the two I've used. Though, with the phase reworks?
I think Low Settings is on easy mode instead of normal? I am pretty sure that is how the tachyon lances 1 shot like it seems in this video. Though I think there were also new balance changes. And low-tech is way more viable now.
