Kinda interesting how they came up with this considering that in the anime as soon as the characters start a duel their runners (the motorcycle) go to autopilot. So there is never any driving while dueling outside of a handful of trick things.
From my understanding, the autopilot reduces but doesn't remove the need to control one's vehicle. There's also at least one duel where autopilot is explicitly mentioned to be turned off.
@@gyppygirl2021 No normally it just drives the motorcycle for them, otherwise they definitelly wouldn't be driving backwards half the time. The only times they ever drive manually is the beginning of a duel because the first one around the corner gets to go first. And yes, one or two duels where they turned autopilot off intentionally.

I forgot the details since it has been so long ago, but I used a deck that focused on Giant Ushi Oni: it can attack free the first time and its attack has incredible homing (I believe the best of them all, I've seen it take sharp corners), and for what it offers it has relatively low costs. I built my deck to summon it ASAP and maximixe the amount of times I could attack with it.
I don't know what is more surprising the fact that this exists or that it is actually kind of good if you like card games
Card games on motorcycles
Also, have you checked out "The Duelists of the Roses" yet?
This is the evolution of card games on motorcycles.
But then again every popular franchise has a kart racer.
I knew nothing about Yu-Gi-Oh then the commercials I would see on tv as a kid... so seeing you make video on a series I know nothing about is really cool and teaches me about a series a knew about for so long but knew nothing about...
I was disappointed that Konami never made a Turbo Duel format for the TCG/OCG, complete with a Box of Spell cards for said format.
And yet they're making a new TCG/OCG format for the very newest series that's currently out. Like what gives?
A88mph Yeah, it was always kinda surprising to me why they decided not to.
@@IceBlueLugia i love Turbo Duel man :c, i would like to play it everytime
I had a lot of fun with Wheelie Breakers as a kid, it’s not my favorite Yugioh video game but it is one of my favorites.

Yusei: "WTF did he just call me?"
card games on motorcycles is the greatest evolution of duel monsters and i will die on this hill
This game almost sounds amazing.
A Yu-Gi-Oh racing game. That is awesome! Weird, yet awesome
"This might be the only video game to combine card games and racing"
We out here forgetting _Pocket Card Jockey_ existed
I played the 5DS World Champion games back in the day. You had to upgrade your bike for actual racing parts so naturally, I put the best stuff on my bike.
However, with all the best stuff on my bike, I noticed that it moved really slow and controlled horribly! It was then I looked up and found out that there was a weight system and all these parts made my bike weigh like several tanks.
Yu-gi-oh games that aren't straight up card games have always fascinated me, one was a Fire Emblem styled strategy RPG, another was a RTS/Turn Based RPG hybrid and now we have a racing game with card mechanics... there was a reason I loved the series back then.
I wish they were still making any of these.
I was sad this game was never ported to the 3DS. Then we would have 5DS on the 3DS ;)
Wheelie Breakers was my childhood. One of my favorite games on the Wii because I love yugioh
I like how this channel moved on from just Pokemon to Yugioh racing games. I'm proud of you, Josh.
I never new this game existed and now I want it
Ah, the embodiment of childhood car trips where you always imagined that something was running alongside the car
The fact they did not censor our goddess makes this game 8/10 without looking into the graphics story or gameplay
I actually remember trying to play this and not understanding because I thought I could skip the tutorial thinking it was *just* a card game.
I'm a huge fan of 5D's and I also happen to be a huge fan of the games that came out during that era. Tag Force, the 5D's World Championships and the Wii titles like this one. Wheelie Breakers is definitely a black sheep in the world of Yu-Gi-Oh video games, but in honesty I actually liked it quite a bit. Yu-Gi-Oh games don't tend to stray away from actual card play too much but the unique concept here can be seen as a nice breath of fresh air. Either that or its just because I also really like racing games, lol.
I'm guessing playing UNO while drag racing wont mix well then.
Turn off voice commands!
REVERSE!
WHATTAFU...!
This obscure Yu-Gi-Oh content is a drug
Nice to see you talking about a later Yu-Gi-Oh series. Maybe you could share you're opinions on each anime (or at least the ones you watched)
I love this game, the 5d's DS world championships games are also some of the best because of the 5d's story mode.
The story modeof those were awesome. It's a real shame they never did something like that again.
@@EskChan19 1) popularity, you could only really do it with Arc V since xyz was a big flop and Vareins is own by another company. 2) mobile games are significantly more profitable and have story modes in them (duel links and master duel take over what the world championship games basically do)
I have fond memories of playing it, but i don't miss playing it, now Crash Tag Team Racing on the Gamecube was my jam! when it comes to racing games
The “generic cop” characters are actually important enemies throughout the 5Ds anime. The first guy, Chief Armstrong, is the prison warden that Yusei has to beat to get out of jail and Trudge is a recurring cop throughout 5Ds that undergoes some character development
I know who the characters are - I've watched 5DS many times! Trudge is also one of the first antagonists from the original manga. I was just reminded at how often you deal with corrupt law enforcement in 5DS, considering the current political landscape.
TheJWittz Ah ok, good to know haha!
Yu-gi-oh could star in a remake of 'Trains, Planes, & Automobiles'.
The first series had duels on planes, trains, and blimps. It was a matter of time before they started racing while dueling.
This jus makes me realize a lot of the yu gi oh games that weren't outright card duels nobody knew about like dungeon dice monsters
Tbf DDM is just like Duel monsters...
But it has **DICE**
