The day that SBS Psycho performance aired was the day Wendy suffered her injury due to SBS's negligence (her right pelvis and wrist were broken, and her right cheekbone was cracked, as well as sustained bruises and swelling all over her body). When Wendy finally came back after her year and a half hiatus to recover, she released 'Like Water' and part of the meaning of that song was showing gratitude towards fans for waiting for her that whole time. That song never fails to make me tear up.
Gosh, that 1 year of 2020 was literally like torture for Wendy fans (we only got an OST in May that year and Milky Way video in August) ! Those first 2 months were even more sad bcoz we rarely got updates about her recovery and if she'd ever return
The part that tore me up was from Joy - she said that Wendy was so worried about it that she clung on to her microphone while being loaded into an ambulance wanting to perform. She refused to give up from the get-go. Wendy is pretty damn hard core.
Fun fact: Mamamoo Solar was the one that found and help Wendy after seeing her unconscious during the time of the accident and both of them share the same birthday, which is February 21.
Yeah, I believe that SBS live is the only time they got to perform Psycho during its promotion era and what a sad promotion era that was. The song blew up, broke multiple records, won music show awards left and right and stayed on top of the charts for so long yet they couldn't be there to perform it, collect any award and celebrate their success. Instead they had to be sick and worried about whether Wendy would be able to recover and ever make it back on stage. Poor Wendy; I can't even imagine what she went through since she never mentions anything about that entire period. She's such a strong person, it's all been laughs and cheers and good energy from her ever since she came back. You'll get there when you react to Milky Way, the first time she performed with Red Velvet after a long time. Her singing and jamming to the song and they way other members look at her say it all. I'm glad they chose not to perform without her because if Wendy isn't there it's just not Red Velvet.
Immediately after Wendy got hurt I remember SM releasing a statement saying that they had a month long tour of Japan that the group was financially obligated to do, ( they did the trip without her ) but that Red Velvet would be having absolutely no group activities until Wendy was completely healed.
Psycho was the first kpop song I seriously listened /watched, before I always thought all kpop songs are bubbly for teenagers only, but psycho is so unique, the mv is a work of art. I really like RV since. Besides, Irene is so pretty.
Psycho was my first pop song ever. I knew nothing about anything about kpop. I thought it would be 5 pretty women prancing about. That first note from Seulgi hooked me. The first high note from Wendy made me a fan. By the end of the song, I was addicted and spent the next week binging. So, right there with you, buddy.
It was such a shame what happened to Wendy as Psycho was released. On a selfish note, I'm still salty about never getting a Psycho encore stage on any music stage
i feel like a broken record but . GIVE US THE LA ROUGE CONCERT SM YOU COWARDS!!!.... now that that's out of my system. La Rouge (the song) was the opening song for La rouge (the concert) was wasn't intended to be on any album but after we never got the blu ray release it just popped up on the finale album. Us reveluvs had just being calling it Shining before then. still holding out hope we'll get to see again.
I hope this isn't too out of left field to suggest, but there is this really great translated cover of In N Out by an guy named Jason Ray on UA-cam. He does a lot of translated covers of kpop songs, but In N Out was how I found him. I think you might like it and could look at it on your own time.

I imagine that I will not be okay for that one 🥹
She also likely broke her jaw and nose as she had to have her mouth wired shut according to an RV producer who visited her.

Yeah someone had mentioned that! It’s so good that she found her when she did!

It's a red velvet day 🎉,
And thus a great day! 🥰

For real though, I’m just so happy that she was able to get through it!
Still.... what that song accomplished with no promotions whatsoever is absolutely staggering.
In Korea, year-end joy is called God lol

💯💯 hard agree, I want a good quality version of that show like now! But La Rouge is a total bop
That's why I cherish this comeback so much. The comments below just told the reasons.💧
Yeah 😭 I’m so glad she was able to recover from that! It’s a terrible thing that ReveLuvs and Wendy had to go through
31:25 was Wendy. I feel like you know her voice by now haha
Sometimes I feel like I do, and then she does something to continually surprise me! But yeah I probably should've known this one lol
that look at 18:35 from Wendy is lethal.
@@McKavian agreed 😮💨
Please also react to her songs in which they perform in a live show for example on Mnet K-Pop, them singing and dancing on stage is incredible!
psycho will always be that ERA
none other kpop songs could top it except red velvet themselves
