The "Mask" function on the AD200 Pro II does four-group rotating ALT (not just two-group MASK as on the previous versions) like the AD400/AD600/AD1200 do. Sports shooters can use ALT to share out recycling load among multiple lights for burst shooting. While real estate shooters can use it for flambient shooting with a 3-frame HDR bracket. Just saying, more than one use for that function.
The AD-B2 bracket not working with the AD200 Pro II came from the instruction manual from Godox. I just checked again and it seems to have been updated but a week or 2 ago, I checked and there was a place where it was written that it wasn't compatible.
Here is a cool trick for mask mode. Say you want to shoot continuous shutter on the camera for an action shot. And you can only get to 1/16 power before the light can't keep up and starts to misfire. If you use the AD-B2 place one on mask 1 and the other on mask 2, They will alternate flash and it will give you just enough delay to be able to increase the power significantly, since they are now flashing every other time. You can shoot 10 to 12 fps at 1/8th or even 1/4 power that way. You will have to experiment to see what the limitation is.
1. Does the AD200 Pro2 fit in an S2 bracket? I want to use it with an Angler 15x55 strip box. 2. When the colour temp is set e.g. 3200K or 6000k, is that only for the modelling lamp, or would it work for flash as well? (essentially the same as gelling the flash) Thanks
Can you make a video about how to use the AD-B2 bracket ? Like setting it up and settings that you use to make it possible. I can’t find good videos on it anywhere
They won't be available for old versions. There is a power connection that won't fit. You can do the opposite and use the old heads on the new body if you ever needed to.
Great vid. I just got my AD200 pro II today. I didn’t buy the new remote. I have the xpro. I went to set it to 1/512 but it only goes down to 1/256. Do you know if the xpro has the capability or I need to buy the new remote? Thanks
We forgot to put that clip in the accessory part. You are correct. The EC200 will connect to the AD200 Pro II body but ONLY the AD200 or AD200 Pro heads will work with it, not the AD200 Pro II heads.
Hi Sir, thanks for the informative video. A question, does the modeling light on the fresnel head only light the center of a softbox ? Another video here on YT seems to shows that the modeling light on the bulb head is very directional and only light the center of a softbox. I would buy two of them but only if the modeling light at least gives an idea what to expect when I use them in a softbox, beauty disk or reflector. Thanks a lot :)
There is some incorrect info on this - H200R round head does not fit the AD200 Pro ii. So AK-RI is not compatible. Great video, very comprehensive, thanks very much for putting this together.
Another great video, so comprehensive! Quick question, the modelling lamps are bi-coloured, but are the flashes as well? If I set the modelling lamp to 3200K, will the flash also be set at 3200K when it fires?
I appreciate your reply! I take delivery of this latest update of the AD 200 today looking forward to using it. This will be the fourth 200 I have with my other three versions being first GEN. In the past firmware updates for the strobes has been PC only. I’ve been using these strobes in various different sizes for the past six years. I have never updated firmware because they were PC only. Do you feel these updates are worth the time? Thanks!
I sometimes see ad300 with a stand and a softbox for $500 I really the deal but I saw the new upgrade of ad 200 pro Ii with new display and smaller charger, makes me want to wait for the ad300 pro Ii instead😂
The EC200 do not fully fit. It can only fit the H200R for that old EC200. But not the fresnel head and the bulb head. We all need to email Godox for them to produce EC200 II.
@@visionsbydavid You need the Canon cable for all the Godox lights that use the PB980 power pack, the Y cable will Half the recycling time than using a cable on it's own, and also add a bit of extra length., the others are brand specific.
How has this video only got 318 likes, amazing tutorial, just got mine and this was really helpful, thank you.

AD200 was an absolute revolution.
Still a great light
excellent video. well explained, clear and precise. An excellent video menu. Should have much more Like.

Yes, the AD-B2 bracket has been tested and proven to work with the AD200 Pro II.
Just got two AD200 Pro II and x3 trigger . Was so surprised . Love the X 3 trigger works great on my Nikons .

Interesting idea, we'll have to give this a try.
Awesome video man I know my settings because of you !!!
Can't I use the H200 ii or H200J ii head when I connect and use the EC200 among accessories?
Excellent, I had the first version of this flash and I sold it, maybe I'll buy this new version. Thanks for the video
what is the model of the first soft box with the center place shown? looks like 18 inch?
Are the bulbs the same??? If I bought the proii, can I still use the dual power adapter bowers mount?

this flash is great and the guide video is superb
Great video. I don't see a link for tje proprietary softbox
Great, job. Best review on have seen on this light so far.
Thanks!
Will these new heads be available for the previous models? Doesn't look like the connector changed. Would love a modeling light with the bare bulb.
They won't be available for old versions. There is a power connection that won't fit. You can do the opposite and use the old heads on the new body if you ever needed to.
X3 trigger won’t work with ad200 pro version?

I have the same question. Any firmware update for Xpro?
Besides the 1/512 issue, is the Xpro working well with the AD200 Pro II? I am thinking about buying the AD200 ProII too.
The EC extension head won't work. The body fits fine but the new heads won't fir.

That's useful information. Thank you
Does the bulb provide modeling light? Or is it solely the led ring?
The LED surrounding it supports modeling.

But it's no longer compatible with MagMod due to the fan position.
Does the H200R round head work with the AD200ProII?
just bought it and it doesn't work im crying
Can firmware be updated using a Mac, NOT a PC?
It can be updated with Mac or PC in the G3 firmware updater.

Would the XPro trigger work with the AD200-2? (I want to use it as a hair light with AD600Pro & XPro)
Yes, all the triggers will work. The only one that has the new Wireless Sync button is the X3 though.
@@Strobepro But seems like XPro trigger only support up to 1/256. If there any firmware update for that?

There will be an EX200 coming to fit the new heads but no ETA yet.
Another so called complete guide that makes no mention or use of the PB960 battery pack,
Check the video at 5:10.
@@circlehousemedia It does more than extend battery life, with the Y cable it can half recycling times.
Which cable do we need to go from the PB960 to the AD200 PII flash? Is it the one for Canon? My Nikon one does not fit...
