I've noticed that you didnt have a multi tool in your EDC, I always have one on me at all times. Pliers, wire strippers screwdrivers, and a couple of blades. Multi tools carry mostly everything you need. Then i have a Gerber shard on my keychain and I carry a spring assisted pocket knife.
Mike's Tool Shed I was about to say how do you not carry a pen, sharpie, and a small pocket book? That's a must have. And it sucks when you don't have it because that's the day your going to be needing to take a bunch of notes.
The 1AC-A II is my preferred "dead man's stick" too... Been using them for years, and the only problem I have is when the batteries go dead. I recently got a Fluke LVD2, and I wouldn't trust it 1/100th as far as I could throw it... They're a useful tool in the right situation... But, like you said, you should always use a meter, proper lockout / tag out, arc flash, and blah, blah, blah... Keep up the good work Mike!
Mike, check out the Fenix flashlights. I have the LD22 model and it is awesome. 4 lumen levels, strobe, and SOS. It can go from lighting up a very small area to your whole backyard, in one small aircraft aluminum grade package. I use rechargeables (2x-AA) and it lasts a long time between recharging. I do like the rubber end design tho, but my Fenix does not have it. Little pricey but it is built like a tank. Dropped countless times and barely a knick on it. From one tool junkie to another. Thanks for the videos.
Great stuff. I just ordered the Knipex after watching this. It's been on my wish list for a long time. I also ordered one of the 5" plier wrenches they make. By the way Milwaukee make a compact version of that knife. I love it. Still a good size but much less weight in the pocket.
Good selection. Love Lenox Gold and my Milwaukee pen light. I tried the smaller Cobras and don't care for anything under the 7", felt uncomfortable using. I carry my 7" pair in my back pocket all day.
As an rv tech, I always carry my streamlight stylus pro, pocket flat head, and a Kershaw pocket knife(which I lost) I actually just picked up a crkt m21-10ks off the snap on truck and I love it so far.
For those seeking slim/light carry blades, I recommend the Gerber Eab Lite. I've purchased mine through Walmart. I also have hook blades for it. I find hook blades more capable for what I find myself doing
Have you considered the fluke LVD2 volt light? It has the non contact volt alert with a flash light built in. Could make one less thing to carry or forget.
Awesome video.lol I couldn’t stop laughing when you were explain the pocket knife. You were like just pop it open and go to town. Stab stab stab cut cut. Haha multi bit screw drivers are key when trouble shooting. I have a lot 6inch chest pocket tools too. You have belt holster for a multi bit screw or flash light. I have a fluke stick tester too but it’s only good for AC and there’s certain ranges. Dc stuff it doesn’t work but I still got one. Lol I carry fluke t1000 multimeter on my hip and keep Fluke 179 Multimeter in my tool bag I also work in manufacturing. So I get expose to different systems. I deal with more process and control. Motors, drives, starters, plc’s, digital and analogfield devices, etc i have the same mind frame of coming out online for a quick check but missing a simple too on me. Also electrician by trade! Electrician kickass
Nice video! Don't be shy, you can tell it: "Knipex rocks". I also carry a small folding knife and tend to forget I have it. So a couple of times I had to go back to my car and leave it before passing a metal detector. They seem to be everywhere these days.
I would use the volt stick to check if something is live when it should be but there is an issue it is quicker than the probes but if iwastesting dead i would use a pproving unit and good test lamps
Try the newer compact version of the fastback! they switched the blade release to the other side so you can strip wire! also it allows you to choke up more! i was a little skeptical but i love it man!
I grew up with the saying about carrying a Pocket knife if someone ask if I've got a knife on me. My reply is, DO I HAVE MY PANTS ON? ALWAYS 100% of the time and 99%of the time I will have two, (1) Victonox knife & (1) Waneger (like Victonox but with a seratared blade) I also carry a Barlow Tradesman hawkbill with me 50% of the time. I also carry a the KNIPEX Cobra as well.
Wondering how useful is the ecx bits/screwdrivers really are? Also the ecx is Milwaukee and klein makes one called a combination tip. Yes I know you can use a philps or a flat tip.
I will say that volt test is the best I have used all I use really like the fact if you hold the button the beep turns off. I had one lie to me but it was old
Nice to see you placing your tools down carefully and neatly.......but you'll probably go back to throwing them about after reading this just to piss me off haha.
I have always carried the stream light microstream, I didnt know that about the Milwaukee light with the rubber end cap I may have to check that out. I love my knipex cobras!!
I wedge my flashlight into the side of my hat over my ear, instead of in my mouth. I have an SK pocket screwdriver with me at all times but it's a #1 Phillips and a standard flat blade. Except for the knípex (I carry the 7" VamPliers slip joints) and the live wire thing, we have pretty much the same set up. Of course we can carry concealed here so yeah, why not? Or do you keep yours in #mikeshole?
if you ask nicely at the check guard...you can pull them to the side and ask them if you can bag and tag my knife and hold it here while i go do my thing. most security guards get mininmum wage...so slip a 5 dollar bill. and tell them get some coffee on you..:)
You should be quite handy carrying those items daily. I will buy the 5" Knipex pliers wrench next, the parallel smooth jaws are great for straightening sheet metal.
Lenox gold in a lenox fixed blade body is the best. You can stick it out farther with the 4 notch design. The best ive found except the body sometimes breaks if it gets beat up.
Hi Mike! It is not on toppic, but I want you to know, that you can get a Wiha electricians toolkit in a Sortimo L-Boxx now in Germany. It was once a Bosch promotion but it seems to clog up to much storage units, so a lot of retailers are selling them now. There are also some on German eBay, too. I did a review on them and uploaded the video yesterday. Just FYI. You might want to score one for yourself to review. But I'm impressed that you can wire almost entire homes with so few tools. I would at least need some side cutters. I prefer them even to strip wires over a knive. So, no knive for me. And I don't trust those glow sticks. A two phase voltage detector is a must for me, if I can't have a multimeter. I use a Gossen Metrahit X-Tra, so I am blessed in this regard. Regards, Etna.
cool edc stuff i don't remember if i let you know but (i'am changing my channel name to john's tool's and more i left my94silva1 on for now so people would recognize me)
I'm pretty similar I do low voltage so I don't use the voltage detector I have the same knife before they called it fast back or printed on it and my flashlight is one of the smallest 18650 flashlight I have found and I have a letherman instead of the cobras I did but one of the small crescent Brand channel locks I saw them and was like I wonder if knipex has something like that and they do but it's like $30 plus bucks so I got the crescent ones but I don't carry them and I have a slimish Stanley screw driver that has 4 bits and a small precision screwdriver and an inkzall, pen and a letherman squirt es4 which has wire strippers I don't use it much but nice to have when I do
Mike I carried multiple Milwaukee blades on me pocket knives fixed blade knives and razor blades if you or that much irritated with the blade release on your Fastback 1 razor blade try out the Milwaukee miniature Fastback razor blade the blade release button is on the opposite side
SHIT! I forgot a Sharpie and a pencil, always have something to write with.
Mike's Tool Shed sorry about the jibberish that was my 3 year old kid.

I keep a paint marker, (Milwaukee) Sharpee, and ink pen in my left pocket - always good to have plenty of writing implements.
Just use your smart phone....voice message, its easy
Mike you forgot to include your AR-15.
The Lenox utility blades are the best bar none. Have used them for 5 years and they have served me well.
A good pocket knife is a cheap one , so you don't cry every time you lose it . Opinel is the best for that.
Non contact voltage meters are something you believe when it goes off, but don't believe if it doesn't lol.
Rob Pridemore yep got hit with 277 over batteries dying at a impeccably bad time
I carry an *87 01 150* Knipex Cobra in my right front pocket every day...love it.
I work in Hvac also. What do you use it most for and how often? I want an excuse to carry one but need to justify it to myself haha
I’m surprised you didn’t have your kershaw. I bought a blur with S30V steel after seeing your blur in a previous video. Freaking love it!
The 1AC-A II is my preferred "dead man's stick" too... Been using them for years, and the only problem I have is when the batteries go dead. I've carried a Swiss Army knife for over thirty years. On my fourth one now. Mostly for the knife.

Not to sound like a prick but the model # for the Snap On pocket screwdriver is SDDDM1AR. Kind of hard to read. Big Fran of your videos!!
Wow I was way off. It is barley stamped on there. Thanks man
Good selection. Love Lenox Gold and my Milwaukee pen light. I tried the smaller Cobras and don't care for anything under the 7", felt uncomfortable using. I carry my 7" pair in my back pocket all day.
I carry the milwaukee fastback utility knife and the small knipex pliers. Good stuff!

Did your cobras shrink in the wash lol

Alright I’m sold on the flashlight. I’ve made a habit of putting my light in my mouth, it’s just too convenient not too. I’m gonna go buy one!
Wondering how useful is the ecx bits/screwdrivers really are? Also the ecx is Milwaukee and klein makes one called a combination tip. Yes I know you can use a philps or a flat tip.
I'm a electrician and carry the exact same thing on my vest every day.
The Stanley 100 pack of blades has worked good for me they sell them at home depot and they're just great
Should look into a Chapman midget ratchet set. Can fit it in your pocket is able to loosen pretty much any screw.
what about the pencil and sharpie? always an EDC
I will say that volt test is the best I have used all I use really like the fact if you hold the button the beep turns off. I had one lie to me but it was old
I also have carried the Leatherman Surge for over 10 years
Leatherman Free P4, utility knife, sharpie, and flashlight
Mike look into the LeatherMan T4 Free knife it’s in my EDC now and it’s got me out of a ton of jams
Im a plumber and I carry the exact same stuff! Except I carry a folding ruler and a Klein pocket screwdriver.
my EDC is a kershaw leek, I sent it in for sharpening/repair, it took almost a month...I felt naked the whole time!
Great video thanks brother. Keep up the great work see you in the next video
Dude your spot on I carry the same knipex 7in a must with knife
Nice to see you placing your tools down carefully and neatly.......but you'll probably go back to throwing them about after reading this just to piss me off haha.
I have always carried the stream light microstream, I didnt know that about the Milwaukee light with the rubber end cap I may have to check that out. I love my knipex cobras!!
Uhoh been busy past week i thought i missed a couple vids somewhere... lennox is one of best blade makers for sure (sawzall, razor, ban saw etc)
I wedge my flashlight into the side of my hat over my ear, instead of in my mouth. I have an SK pocket screwdriver with me at all times but it's a #1 Phillips and a standard flat blade. Gray Stone dude, he had a seizure, get help!
Hard Knocks Forge leave ot up to knockers to stick it between his lips or ear lolol. ;)
Do you use the knipex pliers to bend the wire around the screw?
That's nice stuff and you're a good person.
Yeah, whatever.
MrBeehjay what ever said the ladies
Lenox is the best I’ve found for sure
If you have trouble with metal detectors, you have trouble with screwdrivers, hammers, nut drivers, wrenches, pliers, pretty much anything you need.
Great video Mike!!!When are you going to be getting the top box of your Husky box?Have a good evening.
Never say that the knife are for self defence, where you from as in country?
The stanley blades are pretty good
if you ask nicely at the check guard...you can pull them to the side and ask them if you can bag and tag my knife and hold it here while i go do my thing. most security guards get mininmum wage...so slip a 5 dollar bill. and tell them get some coffee on you..:)
Would it be possible to put links to all of the tools you show on the specific videos?
Nice video
You should be quite handy carrying those items daily. I will buy the 5" Knipex pliers wrench next, the parallel smooth jaws are great for straightening sheet metal.
Dewalt carbide blades are very long lasting
Great vídeo thanks, knipex the best quality 💪💪💪
I am from the south and from a small town at that. I thought all men carry some kind of knife every day.
Hi Mike. I have used that Lenox blade for years also. Tried others. None better. I have mine in the same knife
Knife!... is over complicated, just going to stick with sliding cheepos. Love the Cobra, might get the snap on and grind the flat to fit #2squares...
Try the Gerber utility knife from Wal-Mart left hand ejector button
Those calipers with fractional readout look like something out of a nightmare.
cwell2112 yeah they are for approxamations
Probably from walmart
Any chance of an edc video for outside of work?
rjw261984 sure I could do that
Mike's Tool Shed sweet! Looking forward to it.
Its slim.......fits in those tight places
Lenox gold in a lenox fixed blade body is the best. You can stick it out farther with the 4 notch design. The best ive found except the body sometimes breaks if it gets beat up.
Nothing to cut wire? Loves me some wire rigging
I have that size in the knipex pliers wrench and they are awesome. What caliper are you using there Mike?
You know what I grab everyday when I leave for work.......THE WIFE,
Hi Mike!

Well they are digital calipers, made by General, I got them at home depot
Thanks... do you think it will help me learn how to read a tape measure better?
How you gunna cut the wires to term
With his teeth
I lost one nice knife at an airport. After that I figured out I could find a store and pay to ship it home.
Got the same Milwaukee blade works great!

Hey bud, what's up on the review for that Pelican 1920 light I was telling u about? Did u ever end up swooping one up off of Amazon?
Easy-E na not yet I did put one in my Amazon basket though
Gotcha. I'm half tempted to buy it for ya so you 'see the light' .. lol =P
Let me show you my change pocket. (spills about 3 empty beer cans)

I prefer the Stanley carbide blades
Interestingly every thing has red on but the tester
cool edc stuff i don't remember if i let you know but (i'am changing my channel name to john's tool's and more i left my94silva1 on for now so people would recognize me)
Be the hero?....a hero is nothing but a sandwich 🥪
Don't know where you come from but where I'm from 8 out of 10 guys carry some sort of cutting tool
but your linesman bro?
It's a pocket watch pocket. Not a change pocket fyi
My favorite blades are on Amazon and they are serrated utility blades
I'm pretty similar I do low voltage so I don't use the voltage detector I have the same knife before they called it fast back or printed on it and my flashlight is one of the smallest 18650 flashlight I have found and I have a letherman instead of the cobras I did but one of the small crescent Brand channel locks I saw them and was like I wonder if knipex has something like that and they do but it's like $30 plus bucks so I got the crescent ones but I don't carry them and I have a slimish Stanley screw driver that has 4 bits and a small precision screwdriver and an inkzall, pen and a letherman squirt es4 which has wire strippers I don't use it much but nice to have when I do
I like the coast g32 hybrid flashlight
I Wrap paracord around my flashlight so I'm not biting down on metal. I carry a mini mag pro.
Whenever we go on the Keeshan everyone asks me do you have a knife before we going to the store
Mike I carried multiple Milwaukee blades on me pocket knives fixed blade knives and razor blades if you or that much irritated with the blade release on your Fastback 1 razor blade try out the Milwaukee miniature Fastback razor blade the blade release button is on the opposite side
What about your gun??????? I mean what is it a hilti, snapon, shit I would even except dewalt or Milwaukee
tajima blades
I think this video would have applied to Koon's "if you had five tools to grab"
The clip on my knife and light broke😭
Where's your 5 inch channel locks?
You basicaly need leatherman wave as example
I have a surge which is basically like the Wave+
The surge users are what Leatherman users call "sir" whereas wave users are "dude" lol,
an inch and what?.... I love the metric system
I mean the knife thing it's just being called a man but I live here in Texas so that one most guys at least my friends also have knifes too
