HUDSON VINTAGE - How To Collect And Wear It mm
Hudson Vintage, sorry - I didn't catch your name. Will you do a video on 1930-1980 costume jewelry? I'd like to see the progression decade to decade and common pieces to look for from different times. Maybe things to look for to tell which decade. It's easy for me to tell anything before 1900 but after, it's hard for me to place things. Thanks.
Beautiful collection! One suggestion: Keep the background or clothing simple for better displaying the jewels. Thank you.
Thank you! Will do!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and collections! I found you 2 weeks ago and have already found a few fabulous vintage items I would have otherwise overlooked. Love your vids
Wonderful! YES!! That is so great.. woo and a hoo to you! XO~Dawn

Stunning! I have a bunch of garnet pieces my mother-in-law brought from Estonia when they escaped. I don’t know anything about them because she never showed anyone. We found them when she passed.

Really enjoyed your video, loved 🥰 the Victorian jewelry,& you wore it well!
Thanks for watching and commenting Bonnie Graybill! xo~D
You are the only Vintage collector that I have watched giving these pieces the respect they deserve. I started many years ago before the frenzy hit and I collected them because they reminded me of the beautiful women that wore them. Many did not have a lot of money but wanted beauty and a little glamour in their lives. Whenever I see vintage pieces I remember the gorgeous perfectly coiffed Cuban refugees (most with advanced degrees) that sat around my moms kitchen table. I remember the elderly lady I took care of as a child and her endless pearl jewelry that sat amongst her (what seemed to a kid) a huge collection of rhinestone, Art Deco jewelry. Memories of strong tough kind classy women. Thank you for being a class act. Gorgeous collection.
Thank you ElaineinArizona this is exactly what I needed to hear today :)
@@HUDSONVINTAGE You very welcome. Thank you.🌸🌵🌸

Wow! Loved this video, especially the Persian turquoise necklace and the Venetian glass necklace. I'm especially interested in Venetian Murano glass.
Yay, thank you!
I actually have one of the buckle bracelets and it opens in the same manner. I had no idea it was authentic Victorian. Thanks so much for sharing!
That is awesome! Thanks for watching and commenting Tracey Pedigo!

Thank you so very much !!

@@HUDSONVINTAGE Your extremely welcome.
But it is I that must thank you for sharing all your wonderful knowledge. 😊
Love your channel , would love to see a series on diffrent eras, and on diffrent jewlery origins, what can be italian versus mexican and so on.
Thank you so much for your wonderful knowledge sharing.
Great suggestion!
I learned a great deal about Victorian jewelry thanks for your presentation
Thanks for watching and commenting @deborahmoir4726!
Thanks for showing the pieces on a split screen. Cute everyday bloopers. Everyone knows you love hearts. I love hearts. Someday you will feel pity on me and give me you silver heart and fob. Blue is my favorite color in anything. Garnet is my birthstone. I feel a connection to its warmth, richness of color and its fire. The pieces of Bohemian Garnet you own are amazing. I think of victorian jewely as small delicate pieces. Obviously not all are so small. Did not know about the material related to rubber was used in earrings. Thank you for an interesting look into the past. ❤
I have a small cameo collection. I would love to see more cameo jewelry. Thanks and I’m glad I found you. Good luck. You present your jewelry quite well.
Awesome! Thank you! I put that on the list! XO~Dawn
I’ve been rewatching your videos. Persian turquoise piece is outstanding.

Great stuff!! Great presentation!!! Maybe some brutalist stuff?? Midcentury? Tribal? Keep em comin!
My favorites! This week I'm just going through one of my jewelry boxes as is, because I'm recovering from oral surgery and don't have enough time to do a "category". I have been wanting to do that for awhile though, and I will XO~Dawn
I love how you talk about jewelery ❤️
Thanks for watching and commenting @pannanikt333!
Great tip using the necklace shortener to extend a bracelet. As I've aged my wrists have gotten bigger but have many bangle type bracelets I'd like to wear and with your tip I can.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching and commenting Carole Talaway!
Your jewelry is so beautiful as well as your vibe, personality and smile.
Prosperity to you all the days of your life.
Hi Monica! What a lovely thing to read first thing this morning. Thank you! You too! XO~Dawn
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with us. Could you spend more time on each piece please? It is quite difficult to see their design and unique features since it is not close enough. It would be amazing to get more information from you regarding different designers and how to distinguish them, different styles, periods and eras.
Hi Kateryna! I do all of those very things in my more recent videos! Thanks so much for watching @Kateryna Rusakova! xo~Dawn
Love your videos. You are so knowledgeable. I could listen to you for hours. One tiny suggestion maybe lower the volume of the background music so we could hear you more clearly. Thanks again. Keep up the great work.
Ok Thanks for letting me know Patricia, I was wondering about that. It shall be done ❤️
You could talk a tad louder.
Nancy Goldstein hi Nancy! Yes I agree hopefully the sound has improved in the more recent videos XO~Dawn
Can you do a video on how to tell the difference between Victorian jewelry and jewelry made to look Victorian? Also a video on valuable 1960's jewelry. I have some, but not quite sure on the value of some of it.
It's a good idea!! I'll see what I can gather up to show the difference XO~Dawn
Love your new space!
OMG! That was 2 years ago? BUT I have another new space now :)
@@HUDSONVINTAGE Oh shoot

New Subscriber, just found your channel and you are amazing!!
Yay! Thank you! Thanks for watching and commenting Vintage MarKat!
Fabulous show tonight!! Your knowledge is quite impressive. I haven’t worn any of my jewelry this year even the good stuff 😁 because of this COVID-19 mess. Im not going anywhere. We live in New Jersey (Covid central). I’m looking forward to 2021 and opening my jewelry boxes again. Would love a show on 1930’s and pre WW2. Also I love turquoise jewelry. Particularly American Native Indian pieces. Thank you for your videos. ❤️
Hi Antonia, I'm organizing Native American as a topic now :) xo~D
Love this video. Please do more antique jewelry videos 18th century pieces or anything 1930s and earlier 💕
@Rachel Davis That is a great suggestion, I can combine what I have to do pre-1930's, I have a couple of 18Th century pieces and have been wondering how to show them. THANK you for watching and writing! Xo~D
@@HUDSONVINTAGE Great, looking forward to when you make the video.
The French steel cut earrings are so pretty. I bought a pair of steel cut buckles for my wedding shoes. I had a shoe smith sew them on.
Great idea!!
The vendome purple pearls are jus so unique...n glam...
Right? I agree, thank you so much for watching Cynthia!
I just adore your videos.
Thanks so much for watching @brucedouglass8232!
I just found you, I love how u showed how to use pieces differently as the shoe clips into earring, love that. I have so many things I can do that with. I really want to take old clip earrings and make bracelets. I hope U have a video that shows that. Right now I’m binge watching. If u do ill find it.
Thanks so much for watching Lynette Reese!
I think the cut steel earrings used to be pins, I have a pin at home that looks like those, but has a brass piece that mimics the front with a C clasp pin back, behind the steel.
Just recently discovered your channel you have some of the most beautiful jewelry I've ever seen! Has anyone ever told you before you look like a brunette Stevie Nicks? Wishing you much success! 💖
Hi Karen, not yet! Thank you for the kind words XO~Dawn
A great teaching moment. Wow.

I love the look of cut steel. Thanks for including an example of it. Would you consider doing a video on marcasite jewelry? I have started to get into it and love its antique look.
I sure can! I so appreciate you sharing your interests and ideas! We are in a snow storm today, and might lose power after stocking up on 2 weeks of groceries, so not a good day to get to my studio.. but I wish I could go.. Thank you so much for watching and sharing your ideas. xo ~D
@@HUDSONVINTAGE oh, no hurry! Given the current situation, the important thing is to stay safe! I'm subscribed to your channel, so I'll be here when you next post :)
QuirkyGirl10 ❤️🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
It's obvious you love your pieces. I just love your passion for this. I feel the same way. They are all a part of history that can be touched and felt. Do Victorian pieces usually have markings to make it easier to identify?
Well said Andrea! Sometimes yes, like anything really. I recommend this book: amzn.to/2US1DmD XO~Dawn
