  • Social skills training for adults. Have you ever had a moment where you completely embarrassed yourself in public? I’m talking like, “blurting out a traumatizing statement at the completely wrong time” kind of embarrassing. You know, a time where you almost wish you had farted instead because even that would have been less of an embarrassment than the nonsense that just came out of your mouth. It’s worse than when your waiter says, “Enjoy your meal” and you respond, “You too”. Just because we are adults does not mean we automatically know how to be social butterflies. Understanding social cues and being able to choose the correct responses is not something we are born knowing. We can improve and perfect our social skills in the same way we can improve at a sport; through training and practice. If you’re looking to improve your presence among your friends, coworkers, partner, or peers, I’d like to welcome you to Social Skills Training for Adults 101. Here are 15 practical ways to improve.

Thank you, the explicitness of the advice makes it useful for making improvements. I found it very helpful and easy to understand. As an aside, the narrator's voice reminds me of Jason from The Good Place. :)

Thank you. I am doing a Social Skills Training group for people with serious mental illnesses. I am looking for videos to compliment the curriculum. Role playing is a little difficult for these folks. If anyone can share any ideas, it would be wonderful.

Come up with task to do. It'll almost be like role play, but they won't know because they'll be following the objective. :)

@2min , Sure one can live on the opposite coast but that doesn´t mean they can´t be a 49ers fan?! I used to live in Colorado and was a 49ers fan ...hmm I would probably be more inclined to ask what his team is if it´s relevant and focus on if he likes living there...

Is it a sign she likes you if she says bad things about herself when around you. For example: "My handwriting is super bad" although it's really neat

Look, bud if you don’t care,
#1 Why did you watch this?
#2. So what if you don’t care.
If you have nothing positive to say or contribute than, in your words/attitude, “who cares” about your snide comment. Be quiet and move on.
