Have you thought about reacting to euphoria? The new season is starting really soon and I think it would be really cool if y’all either reacted to the first season or did a commentary
Fun Fact: Jessica and Christopher never kissed in this movie because the actor who played him was about 21 at the time and the actress was about 16. There was a kiss scripted but Sterling Knight refused because Danielle Campbell was a minor
She IS kind of crabby, but I think her being really pissed that she got bashed in the head and had to be taken to the doctor's by some random dude she didn't know and then UNWILLINGLY driven to his house where she COULDN'T leave is like... completely valid? I would also be really angry and also terrified?
@@QUEENixp Her having an attitude another other things in her life doesn't make her being pissed that she's been essentially kidnapped and held against her will not valid lmao someone can be bitchy, and still get mad about things that are worth getting mad about too.
@@sigmacry When you get in someone else's car without coercion that's not kidnapping, also she could have easily refused, called her parents from the hospital, demanded money for a taxi back to her grandmother's. So I'm not sure if she's angry with him or angry that she put herself in the situation to begin with and is taking it out on him.
Jessica is much meaner than I remember but she was 100% valid for being rude after he injured her then dragged her to his house instead of letting her go home😂 Like that's kidnapping
In Jessica's defense at the beginning of the movie, if I was constantly listening to my sister shriek and scream over a music star and never stop talking about it, I'd be a bit short with everyone too.
@@mewesquirrel6720 Agreed. During the later half of the movie her behavior is inexcusable, but at the very beginning where her sister was constantly annoying her and involving her in the conversation it was clear she had no interest in, I could see why she was annoyed. Still doesn't excuse her behavior toward Chris though. Not by a long shot.
I find this so funny because later the girl plays Davina in The Originals. The actress would have been about 18-19 and her character falls for a vampire who's played by a guy 12 years older than the actress and the moment they kissed I felt so icked out like 'Sir stop. That is a child'
Jessica is a lot fussier than I remembered LMAO! But I think what was charming/refreshing at the time was the intended lack of fawning over the main love interest. I do think now they would've tweaked it a bit so we understood why she was so apprehensive - or even just done some adjusting to her lines/tone - but overall I'm glad it holds up.
About not being recognised though, Fun fact about Marilyn Monroe a friend said, she could walk around with friends completely unrecognised and then just "turn it on" to show them and suddenly everyone would notice. So maybe...MAYBE Wilde has that power
Yeah, wasn't there even a story about a Superman actor (I think Henry Cavill) standing under a Superman movie poster and no one recognized him? The literal embodiment of the Clark Kent effect^.^
Yeah. Also, this is LA. There are lookalikes and people in costume and if you live here it's possible you get your coffee from the same place as that one girl from 50 shades of grey (and by possible I mean that I went to the same place as her for a while and switched when a better one opened up). Sterling Knight, the main guy in this was actually cast late into the project and he had a really busy schedule so he ended up only singing the title track "Starstruck" while the other songs were done by Drew Ryan Scott. Also Sterling and Brandon Mychal Smith (Stubby) were both on the disney show Sonny With A Chance at the time of filming, the show also starred Demi Lovato. He was a big deal for Disney for a bit then fell off to do other smaller projects. The soundtrack to this movie does indeed slap though lol
yeah it was so fun seeing sterling and brandon be best friends in the movie while hating each other in sonny with a chance. That's why i loved seeing disney movies as a kid, cause you see your favorite characters interact and have different universes from their shows LOL. It's the disney channel universes.
I still listen to Hero unironically. I would like to say 2010 was nearing the end of my disney era but that would be a lie so I definitely watched this as a DCOM premiere and you know what? it mostly still holds up
"Sterling Knight, who portrays Christopher Wilde in the film, only sings the title track on the soundtrack with the rest of the songs being performed by then Varsity Fanclub member Drew Ryan Scott. Knight stated that the reason for this was because he had joined the film's cast late. " Wikipedia
starstruck is probably one of the most underrated disney movies. i love the soundtrack, it's not over the top or dull, the music is really good. also when i first watched starstruck, it was funny to me that the actors sterling knight (christopher) and brandon smith (stubby) are best friends on here and then watching the show so random, they're enemies on there but then become friends in the later seasons lol.
I’m not sure I’ve seen that one? 🤔 might have a look though :) ooh also Girl vs Monster too :D I reckon they should review the Wizards of Waverley Place movie 😊 I’ve got wayyy too many recommendations 😂
@@08lilac Alex Russo is a manipulative, selfish cunt who's a trash friend who shouldn't have gotten away with the shit she did. She killed Stevie(Hayley Kiyoko) and NEVER got accountability for it.
Christopher Wild (Sterling Knight) was on a Disney Channel show called "Sonny with a chance" starring Demi Lovato. He plays the greatest actor of our generation as the amazing Chad Dylan Cooper! He is literally my favorite part, he's so funny. I would recommend it, but it can be really cheesy and plus the first episode sucks. Without him the show would not have lasted long in opinion.
i love the one particular episode where they do the jellyfish and shark handshakes (ya know the one... just not giving major spoilers) i died laughing the first time i saw it!
I just can't wait for when yall react to "let it shine" it is one of the first majority black cast with some of the best songs a dcom has in my opinion. Literally my comfort movie when I was younger and also stubby is the rap villain in the movie too lmao
I could be way off-base, but I always saw Jessica’s temperament as “I do not want to be here” because she is supposed to be a bookish girl. Hence the book mocking in the beginning. I feel like the writers were thinking “she’s angry because she knows she’ll be ignored and bored” but it doesn’t exactly translate that way during the Jessica-Chris interactions. Sterling Knight, the Chris actor, plays it more like “I’m not used to angry girls”. And the two interpretations just don’t mesh that well. That said, I love Jessica’s “you don’t impress me” attitude. I just wish it was less “bitch” and more “I’d rather be reading”.
Sterling Knight got the role really late so he only sings the first song. Others are sung by Drew Ryan Scott. Sterling was in Demi Lovato's Disney show called Sunny With A Chance. I don't think he acts anymore.
I'm pretty sure all of Christopher's cars are named after iconic female singers. There's Britney (the red car from the club) and Cher (the car from the beach) at least, but it doesn't seem like a coincidence lol
I love this movie so much. The songs are boys, it shows hero/influencer worship in a way that is much more realistic that I would have expected for a DCOM (even if slightly exaggerated). I don't LOVE the 'not like other girls' thing she has going on, but it's not a 'I don't like him bc he's popular' thing
The fact that y’all are so concerned over Sarah mapping out his every move had me ROLLING, hahaha. You’ve got a new sub! Also about the dress: “How could it get girlier??” Most things are girlier with floral prints added. 😂❤️
idk if yall are interested in doing yet another version of cinderella but there is a movie called "Another Cinderella Story" its with selena gomez and drew seeley and jane lynch. Drew seeley was the one who sang for zac efron in high school musical. Also i love yalls content it brings a smile to my day
I thought I needed some nice paintings for my empty lounge room wall, but now I've realised what I need is a giant "Hatton" in lights splashed across it. Thanks for doing this movie and giving me the inspo guys.
i remember hating jessica with a PASSION when i used to watch this movie. nice to experience the nostalgia trip with you guys, another great reaction!!
This movie is on my guilty pleasure list. I loved it when i was 12, and i still love it today, songs on my playlist of course. This reaction makes me feel less guilty about liking it lmao, glad you liked it ! Sterling Knight was also on the show Sonny with a chance, but not much else, he's still making some music today so this is cool ! But also FYI Sterling didn't sing all the songs in the movie, he had a double because he did't had time to record all the songs. Good video, loved the collab !
Jessica is like one of those people who hate popular things just because they're popular and make that their whole personality. I get her not liking his music because she's probably sick of hearing her sister play the same songs over and over, but there was no reason to constantly hate on him in person. And it was all purely based on her own assumptions of who he must be because of his celebrity status.
I really love this movie, u lot reacting to this made me so happy. it was underrated even back then but the actor sterling knight who played christopher wilde was in some other movies, one of my favourites being '17 again' which is also a banger y2k teen movie that features MR ZAC EFRON himself - (which is something i hope you guys will react to eventually 👀👀) but other than that he was on the show sonny with a chance (demi lovato who was mitchie in camp rock was one of the leads) and the spin off so random + a few others, not much. but yh, i enjoyed this - timothee was an awesome guest! happy new year guys.
THE WAY I SCREAMED WHEN I SAW THE NOTIFICATION! I CAN'T BELIEVE! "Hero" is such a good song and it's still on my playlist i don't care, it's the perfect song to pretend you're the main character lmao thank you for this reaction!!! This movie is so underrated, the soundtrack is amazing bye
‘hero unplugged’ and ‘what you mean to me’ are songs i still listen to 10-11 years later. BANGERS. i used to watch this movie every day (sometimes twice a day) for MONTHS. i literally knew every single line in this movie. still know all the songs by heart. it’s the first time i’ve seen anyone react to this, though. it’s great, lol. thanks for the great commentary, guys!!!
26:58 thats actually a real natural phenomenon known as 'Mud Flats'. It happens in California and parts of florida. Its the same thing as quicksand. It looks completely normal or like a regular amount of mud until you drive or step into it and then its too late. It might be a bit dramatized but its not just a dcom thing.
Oh shit. Thought she looked familiar. It's Davina from the Originals. Oh and Sterling Knight was still acting up until 2018. Don't know what happened after that. He was originally a Disney star, was the male lead in Sonny with a chance with Demi Lovato. And he also was the male lead in one of the modern Cinderella movies... Elle: A modern Cinderella Tale... They really hit the nail on the head with that one. He sang one of the songs in the movie (Starstruck) The rest were sung by Drew Ryan Scott.
This is so great, I had a pretty bad day but this made me laugh. This soundtrack is amazing, I still know the words to Something about the sunshine, I sing it all the time.
This film is the ultimate fanfiction/original fiction cliché lol buy we all love it. I bet there's not even one fandom that doesn't have a story about the cool musician getting together with the main girl that's not a big fan or is clueless as to who he is hahahha guilty pleasure lol we all wanna be that special person to someone cool and rich lol
The movie does a great job of portraying famous people. As someone who has known fame since I was in high school, Jessica's sister and Christopher's girlfriend are the most irritating types of human beings you'll ever encounter. They're the ones that always want to be in the groups of famous people, but there is absolutely nothing special about them.
Great video guys!!! I'm always looking forward to your next reaction. Btw: the thing with a relationship affecting Christopher's life for the worse is kind of similar with Korean Idols; directors tell them not to have a relationship with other people or at least not to have it publicly because it'll cause fan's admiration and desire for them to drop. It's a stupid thing, but most famous people need to seem "eligible and single" so that the enterprise can sell them more.
I just realized we're doing a Drew Seeley comeback tour with this and the HSM reaction. I won't say the movie that I'm hoping will come next but the ones that know, KNOW
WOW rare find in DCOM lore, nice one boys, thanks AHHHH you should have all your guests do the "if your back" joke I recommend Anna and the apocalypse, it's like Shaun of the dead but a cheesy indie musical
Figured it might be fun and it was! Don’t worry, we plan on having guests do the intro joke whenever we have them on 😁 (I’ll add the movie to the list as well) - Sam
Was waiting for this one ever since I saw the Beauty and the Beast reaction on Tim's channel! Sterling Knight used to also work on a Disney TV series with Demi Lovato, that's how I knew him before this movie. He used to be my crush as a child (after The Naked Brothers Band ended and I had to say goodbye to Nat Wolff as my main crush lmao). This brings good memories, it's just a shame he didn't blow up more after this. Anyways, happy new year!
Starstruck is more than a 'bit of a bop' tyvm lol. I love quite a few songs from this movie! I'm so glad you guys liked it! It's a good movie and just 'slightly' different as Sam mentioned.
feel like if you like "Starstruck" you should do nickelodean's 2009 film "Spectacular," a musical with a mix of a rock band guy and a show choir group. nobody ever reacts to it.
I thought for the longest time that the song from about 25:00 was the two main characters singing since that's the D-Com thing to do. Only recently did I actually look it up, and the singers in that song and others on the album is Sterling Knight (Christopher Wilde) and Anna-Margaret. The co-star actress, Danielle Campbell, doesn't sing in this album.
When you talked about the sister kidnapping the main dude it made me think of the movie Taking 5. You guys should totally watch it! It’s super entertaining and such an interesting idea for a plot!
I loved this collaboration! This and The Beauty & the Beast! I was so excited for your first collaboration and I had a great time watching both of these videos ❤️ Hope you can work together in the future again!
ahhh i loved this reaction so much!! def a fave childhood movie hehe. there's actually an extended version of this movie that just adds one scene of christopher recording an extra song but it's one i think you guys would've liked, called Got to Believe
Now that you've seen this banger, you've gotta react to Let It Shine at some point! It's got Stubbs' actor but as the antagonist and is a DCOM based around rapping so needless to say, pretty funny 😭
Soooo yall want Stuck in the Suburbs? lol it's a super fun movie with Brenda Song and Danielle Panabaker about 2 girls who accidentally switch phones with a celebrity and turn his life upside down. Also, it's more about friendship and less of a romance. And it was actually the one who started the whole DCOM musical idea. I also highly recommend the Descendants trilogy. It's about the kids of the Disney princesses and villains. :)
I really like this movie I’m glad you guys reacted to it I got a lot of good laughs from this video 😭😭 and it’s awesome how close we got 2 collab vids from you guys !

I’m not even joking, this & Let It Shine we’re both Disney faves of mine. Plus Geek Charming 😊 ooooh childhood here I come 😆
Cloud 9 was pretty good too
I’m not sure I’ve seen that one? 🤔 might have a look though :) ooh also Girl vs Monster too :D I reckon they should review the Wizards of Waverley Place movie 😊 I’ve got wayyy too many recommendations 😂
@@08lilac wizards of Waverley place is so good and honestly can’t fault it. Cloud 9 is very cute tbh
Alex Russo & Harper made that show in my opinion 😂
Chad is such an icon I can't 😂
@@beah2700 literally the best!
i love the one particular episode where they do the jellyfish and shark handshakes (ya know the one... just not giving major spoilers) i died laughing the first time i saw it!
I’m so happy to see someone react to this, better yet that it’s you guys! Much love
Glad you’re happy about it! We had fun with this 😊 - Sam
The characters couldn’t kiss because the actress who portrayed Jessica was 15 and the actor for Christopher was 21
I love this movie so much. The songs are boys, it shows hero/influencer worship in a way that is much more realistic that I would have expected for a DCOM (even if slightly exaggerated).
I don't LOVE the 'not like other girls' thing she has going on, but it's not a 'I don't like him bc he's popular' thing
Thank you so much for having me on your channel! I was so STARSTRUCK to meet y'all! (Oh god the red eyes in the intro 😂)
The fact that y’all are so concerned over Sarah mapping out his every move had me ROLLING, hahaha. You’ve got a new sub!
Also about the dress: “How could it get girlier??”
Most things are girlier with floral prints added. 😂❤️
She was going full blown stalker girl.
idk if yall are interested in doing yet another version of cinderella but there is a movie called "Another Cinderella Story" its with selena gomez and drew seeley and jane lynch. Drew seeley was the one who sang for zac efron in high school musical. Also i love yalls content it brings a smile to my day
Omg! Yesss! That and a Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song with Lucy Hale and Freddie Stroma were two of my favorite versions of Cinderella 😆🙌
i remember watching this movie premiere on the disney channel as like an 8 year old .. my 8 year old world was forever changed
I thought I needed some nice paintings for my empty lounge room wall, but now I've realised what I need is a giant "Hatton" in lights splashed across it. Thanks for doing this movie and giving me the inspo guys.
You are correct. Make it the size of your whole wall and everyone who visits will be super impressed 👌😆 - Sam
The guy who plays Stubbs is also in Joyful Noise which is more hip hop/rap-centric. Y’all should definitely check it out!
do you mean let it shine?
you mean Let It Shine?
i remember hating jessica with a PASSION when i used to watch this movie. nice to experience the nostalgia trip with you guys, another great reaction!!
Good video, loved the collab !
you guys should maybe watch let it shine’ it’s a really good DCOM with like an all black cast and fun songs!!
YES
I’ve been stuck in bed sick for the past few days so this was a great pick-me-up! Thanks guys! ❤️
Hope it helped! 😁 - Sam
allie friesland I wish you well in your recovery.
Same twinsesssss
@@potatololita2072 hope you feel better!!
@@themoviebud1988 sure did! 😌
I don't like her that much and the stereotype is used to much. Like the hate is so intense
I really love this movie, u lot reacting to this made me so happy. it was underrated even back then but the actor sterling knight who played christopher wilde was in some other movies, one of my favourites being '17 again' which is also a banger y2k teen movie that features MR ZAC EFRON himself - (which is something i hope you guys will react to eventually 👀👀) but other than that he was on the show sonny with a chance (demi lovato who was mitchie in camp rock was one of the leads) and the spin off so random + a few others, not much. but yh, i enjoyed this - timothee was an awesome guest! happy new year guys.
i was obsessed with this movie as a kid. so glad to see it aged well
THE WAY I SCREAMED WHEN I SAW THE NOTIFICATION!
The chemistry between the characters is so strong i forgot there is not even a kiss in the movie
Omg, my Dreams have come True, thanks for that guys! I remember watching this movie when I was younger, and I Loved it
No worries! It’s a fun one 😊 - Sam
43:44 in the Latin Spanish dub, Sara says "no, you're my sister and I love you"
According to my gf, you are correct haha 😁 - Sam
This movie also gave birth to Mitchel Musso's iconic Welcome to Hollywood song, so i wanna thank them for that.
I believe that is why so many of us love it
I'm over the moon that you guys chose this movie! One of my favorite childhood movies ever!
Glad you’re hyped 😁 - Sam
I'm not usually a fan of Timothee but I have watched several reactions of his, I still feel like this is such a good collab and I have to watch it.
I actually love Sterling Knight in Sonny with a chance. his character cracks me up SO much!
"I've been trying to get rid of that ugly car since your grandfather died" Ok, that had me laughing so hard!!!!
The other movie he was in was the Cinderella Story movie that Ashlee Hewitt was in.
"the fourth unknown Jonas brother" is so funny considering a fourth Jonas brother already exists
I just realized we're doing a Drew Seeley comeback tour with this and the HSM reaction. I won't say the movie that I'm hoping will come next but the ones that know, KNOW
WOW rare find in DCOM lore, nice one boys, thanks
AHHHH you should have all your guests do the "if your back" joke
I recommend Anna and the apocalypse, it's like Shaun of the dead but a cheesy indie musical
Figured it might be fun and it was!
Don’t worry, we plan on having guests do the intro joke whenever we have them on 😁
(I’ll add the movie to the list as well) - Sam
This channel never fails to make me laugh
Yes ua-cam.com/video/3w19SAl1OBQ/v-deo.html May I ask what name of the movie in video opinion what year is
Thanks so much 😋 - Sam
he also was Elle: A Modern Cinderella Tale. sings in it too
Was waiting for this one ever since I saw the Beauty and the Beast reaction on Tim's channel!
FINALLY STUBBY GETS THE RECOGNITION HE DESERVES
Starstruck is more than a 'bit of a bop' tyvm lol. I love quite a few songs from this movie! I'm so glad you guys liked it! It's a good movie and just 'slightly' different as Sam mentioned.
jessica’s sister and her friend dancing during the end credits is the funniest scene in the movie💀i would always rewind that part
i loved this movie when i was younger! this movie gives wattpad vibes lol.
edit: stubby and ryan from hsm need to meet
feel like if you like "Starstruck" you should do nickelodean's 2009 film "Spectacular," a musical with a mix of a rock band guy and a show choir group. nobody ever reacts to it.
Seconded! It’s a guilty pleasure of mine and such an out of nowhere film for nick trying to ride the coattails of Glee.
Forgot to say in my previous comment, these collabs with Timothee were Incredible! The Beauty and The Beast was perfection as well! Congrats guys
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed that too
Your guy’s commentary on this movie is hilarious 😂 great fun! 👍🏼
Now you should watch Geek Charming! AN UNDERRATED CLASSIC! That along with Starstruck and Lemonade Mouth were my FAVORITE DCOMS!! 😅👏🎆✨🤩🤗
Starstruck is one of my faves, LOVE THAT YOU REACTED!
When you talked about the sister kidnapping the main dude it made me think of the movie Taking 5. You guys should totally watch it! It’s super entertaining and such an interesting idea for a plot!
Was not expecting to like this review but ended up loving it so much
So glad you guys did another collaboration together and this movie was cool.
Omg you guys should totally watch 17 Again! Sterling (aka Christopher Wilde) is in it and is hilarious. Def think you guys would enjoy.
You know this boy is not in charge of anything in his life. That's like our favorite male lead sterotype
I loved this collaboration! This and The Beauty & the Beast! I was so excited for your first collaboration and I had a great time watching both of these videos ❤️ Hope you can work together in the future again!
Omg your pfp. Love it.
ahhh i loved this reaction so much!! def a fave childhood movie hehe. there's actually an extended version of this movie that just adds one scene of christopher recording an extra song but it's one i think you guys would've liked, called Got to Believe
I never heard of this movie before today, but I am glad I got to watch it for the first time with y’all 😄 Happy New Year!
Now that you've seen this banger, you've gotta react to Let It Shine at some point! It's got Stubbs' actor but as the antagonist and is a DCOM based around rapping so needless to say, pretty funny 😭
I'm 21, turning 22 this year and have every song memorized still lool
Soooo yall want Stuck in the Suburbs? lol it's a super fun movie with Brenda Song and Danielle Panabaker about 2 girls who accidentally switch phones with a celebrity and turn his life upside down. Also, it's more about friendship and less of a romance. And it was actually the one who started the whole DCOM musical idea. I also highly recommend the Descendants trilogy. It's about the kids of the Disney princesses and villains. :)
Loved that you guys did this together again. I hope we see more of these collabs in the future
I really like this movie I’m glad you guys reacted to it I got a lot of good laughs from this video 😭😭 and it’s awesome how close we got 2 collab vids from you guys !
Yasssss!! My favorite Disney movie with my favorite reactors!! Thank y’all for reacting to it, made my year on the first day 🥰😂
My younger self was so in love with this man
“She wanted him to forget it” lol so these guys just completely forgot when he told her not to tell anyone and called her a ordinary girl before she said that 💀💀 these guys have very selective memories
This movie is one of my favorite Disney movies everrr! The soundtrack is still so good and I've watched it like 20 times already🤣❤
and telling that paparazzi to go away was just the best!!!
“it’s not that bad it’s pretty good”
“YEAH” 😭
Taking 5's also an underrated movie that I enjoyed watching growing up! The reaction cracked me up so much. Thank you for this!
I still enjoy this soundtrack still to this day!
