This was (in my opinion) one of the best breakdowns I've ever seen - especially factoring in what lead to SKT even being able to go into the dark in midlane because of what they did botlane, one aspect I did not realise before. Thanks a lot & keep up the great work :)
huh? haaaaaaaiiil naaaah brutha
SKT be like “Welcome to the dark side.” xd
Or maybe they just translated the comms of SKT lmao
@@Gray.12 Skt comms were "Rek'sai, Rek'sai, Rek'sai"
Wolf deserves a huge credit for this play. Faker also said in an interview that it was his call. Plus he is the only one who hugs ex-SKT members :D
All of SKT, they made THE MOST coordinated and probably the best prepared Teamfight ever. Just look how Wolf and Huni flash almost at the same time to hit that Janna with Silence, charm and then knock her up, and the cc chain with shockwave while Bang goes ratatatata. I'ts the most aproximated to perfection.
Probably one of the best plays in Worlds history hands down. Wolf is probably the hidden op player of SKT with his clutch engage calls. A very similar one happened at MSI as well with zyra. Was a pleasure to watch this live !
add me bro. IGN: Akhilleus on Garena
It would be very interesting to combine the breakdown with mic check and hear the communication before that engage. I bet Wolf played a big part in that aswell.
You can watch the video by "Today on Korean server" when you can hear the voices translated before this teamfight. It was during day 2.
But the key of that tf was CHo gat silence, if SKT don¡t have that Janna can have time to cast ult and disengage.
is that the one where he flashes over the raptor wall and hits a 3 man snare into knockup? that was epic af
2019 and I’m still watching lol
Simply the best demonstration of macro, micro, engage timings, and fundamentals.
2020 still watching
2021 and I'm still watching, so far one of the best comebacks I've watched
Yes fav comeback ever
but the former are fundamnetals
"The target is Meiko's Janna." Thank God. Someone who actually understands that you don't always focus the carry first. Sometimes it is, sometimes it's the highest threat to your carries like an assassin or the front line bruisers/tanks. Sometimes its the champion who is most detrimental to your team's strategy, in this case, the support.
Good old solo queue: WHY ARE U FOCUSING THE SUPPORT
ikr others will just ask you " Why u guys get the support first kill the their adc and mid first" they dont understand the threat of support CC and Shields and items
You guys are making it out as if it is always the best option to focus the support. Literally the only supports in a full blown teamfight you should focus are Soraka and Janna and only in specific situations.
DeviltoGeorgia34 anyone who plays Darius knows that it's not the carries who get focussed.
Its not always the best option but when it IS the best option people never realize it. Never made it out to be the best option all the time so idk where u got that from
Flashback to Wolf's Zyra engage at MSI.
Absolutely! The Zyra engage might have been even more unexpected... SKT's ability to prepare and orchestrate team fights has been legendary for a long time!
Wolf is a beast... that makes sense.
hmmm there's a pun in there somewhere
There are lots of 200 IQ plays, and a few 200 IQ players in League. Wolf is the only 300 IQ player. He's so devastatingly good at both macro and orchestrating the perfect teamfights it's hard to fathom even in slow motion.
And people don't rank him as one of the top supports O_o
The vision ploy by skt from bot to mid is actually genius, will implement in my ranked 5’s
Tweetumsmultiput still won't get you out of silver
but your teammates will just engage them and every one on your team will be dead XD
Actually diamond. hardstuck D5, but nonetheless...
i think you can pull it off but depends heavily on how much experience your teammates have as a team and in communication
@@Boufu i would say, dun bother
it wont work unless ur teammates are communicating with one another
It's tradition to return here every few years
Sometimes losing isnt the scariest thing. Its knowing that there was absolutely nothing you could've done to turn that fight.
How to beat SKT:
1. Be a Korean team
2. Good luck
Vinsmoke actually , EDG do have beaten SKT,and , in BO5
yes EDG was the only not korean team that Beat SKT on MSI
@@randomyoutubeaccount970 non korean team with 40% korean member :D
@@heneryhu7316 yeah with 2 korean players 😂
Kk Dd ifyou calculate not bo5 ring did it much time
A breakdown on what makes Gigabyte Marine's highly aggressive style work would be really nice.
"work"
Cheers Mate didn't work very well did it?
i like them tiddys from the grill behind faker lul
I think it worked really well early on, both in game and in groups. It's like telling a really shocking joke, it works fine first but if you continue telling it over and over it'll lose it's power.
there is nothing to breakdown; the marines simply pick winning lanes and jungle and pressure the map that's it
I missed these so much
its 2022 and still the most shocking comeback and gameplay I have ever witness. I still remember i shouted alone in my room when i saw this play for the first time.
Zirene + the breakdown = best content I watch on UA-cam.
Man I miss these, I wish they did more recent ones. This was such a good series, i dont even know why they stopped doing it.
T1 is 13-0 now. God tier team
Wolf doesnt have to prove anything now. He's easily the best support of all time
Shadow Fiend Mmh, that might be true but that wouldn't be because of this engage, this was more of a show of why SKT as a whole is so great. Also I think there are definitely supports that are on Wolf's level.
at least wolf is the best in terms of engages among all supports
Shadow Fiend Mata/Madlife/Meiko: Hold my beer.
Mata isnt even at worlds, and got completely rekt by wolf and Bang at last worlds and in 2017 playoff summer KT vs SKT
Having one bad split does not make Mata a bad support. I still consider him one of the best.
Great breakdown, it's moments like these that show just how Korea is light-years ahead of all the other regions.
This is the best analysis of a single play I’ve ever seen Jesus christ
And people will still say that SKt's victories are boring?)
Arthes Lich king predictable, perhaps. They don't feel worried that their team could lose.
they're just bunch of haters that keep seeing SKT at their screen year after year so they will root to another team just to make SKT look bad
the scream of disappointment lmao. Nonetheless, kudos to the chinese fans, at least they're lively unlike in NA or EU where people are dead silent.
Day will Fall what??? Chinese crowd was dead silent every time they lost, what universe are you watching worlds in?
They have the most interesting wins actually aahahaha
SK Telecom! Legends for a reason
5:49 You can see who's making the calls by watching what directions they move
fakers
@@yuvrajlally606 nope Wolf bro
@@micucaracha3308 Nope. Faker's bro. Look closely, Faker's Orianna decisively moves towards the tower. Huni&Wolf's path towards Baron and suddenly change their mind.
@@yuvrajlally606 yeah it's faker's call but wolf did the exact perfect timing to engage
Faker did say that wolf made this engage call
Zirene's voice is perfect. Calm collected and articulate. He explains things very well. I wanna see more Zirene content
Legends never die : )
they go mia ping
6:48 IBoy used barrier thinking he had heal
Lol, I also wonder why presses barrier with full health. XD
I've been expecting this! I'm glad you guys did it. This is amazing not forgetting to mention the explanations and visuals are so on point everything is fluid
Their strategy is amazing skt is amazing
Hankō no Kokoro Not at this worlds though
Honestly I was an skt fan since their first worlds but without peanut and huni I don't like any of the players besides faker ;(
Hankō no Kokoro If you like a team only because of some players you don't like the team, but those special players.
I liked the team because of the players indeed but since every time I start to appreciate a player they are fired from skt i'm kinda sad ;(
The mention about the 27th minute at 6:45 really gave me goosebumps. This is the exact same thing that Faker said earlier this year, in the match against Gen. G. At the 27th minute, he made the call that that was when they were strongest, and they went on to win the game 3 minutes later. In an interview after that, he acknowledged that his judgment about this "strongest moment" came from all his past experiences. Maybe just a coincidence but who knows :")
How SKT beat EDG
Short Answer: Because they are SKT.
Chezter Kevyn Mesina Even shorter answer: Because it's EDG (In China, EDG is considered a good team when and only when fighting Chinese clubs, their international performance is somehow worse than RNG or WE)
nah true reason is because Peanut is huge Yu-gi-oh! fan,he laid down that ward as trap card for rek'sai to unburrow, this entire plan wouldn't work if rek'sai stayed underground.
I watched this live and almost thought that EDG will win the match but had the feeling that something's about to happen... then I almost dropped my phone when it did 😂... this was indeed a team effort. 👍👊👌
Petition to bring this format back.. Such a great content!
a beautiful breakdown for the incredible moment of a legend !
By far the Best Breakdown with Zirene thus FAR!!!
Keep up the good work @RiotZirene bravo my friend bravo!
That was a misplay from meiko. He had a small window at the start to deny wolf's engage with his ult. Which would have been disastrous for Skt
Na, he had zero window for counter play, Janna’s ult doesn’t go far enough to hit wolf and push him back before he ult flash w cc with cho’s silence and knock up by jarvan E,Q and ori ult. He had no vision on wolf until he flash, the only reason you think he can counter is because you’re not seeing fog of war
I haven't watched the vid yet. But it was all Wolf. He made that call
Watch and learn something then.
Yeah lol all wolf, he couldve 1v5ed that without any teammates since he made the call. Nice dude
Record breaking comeback... until today. Thanks LZ.
SKTs comeback is way better tho. Since SKT broke EDG, while GAM just kinda dissolved slowly against LZ.
LZ didn't win that match, GAM lost it. If GAM were capable of not being reckless they would have won, but GAM only has one mode and it's hyper-aggressive all game, even when they don't need to be.
It was said at 25 minutes. At 25 minutes SKT was down 10k, today LZ was down to GAM by 4k at 25:00.
I watched this game. And omg this moment i was screaming. Amazing wombo combo
I came here to refresh the best memory of SKT T1 ♥️
I watched this live and im still amazed by how good this game was
LEGENDS FOR A REASON!!!
Back in 2019 to recall the best team fight ever
still gave me goosebumps watching this comeback.
watching this 2 years afterwards Pog
The quality of this video was insane!
I wish there would be more of these for more epic teamfights in the history (and maybe that faker zed vs zed outplay from bacj in the day which i still dont get)
Keep up the great work man
Can we bring these back
That focus 7:58
This breaknow is enough for a man to get teary eyes
Im sad Zirene isn´t at Worlds he deserves it a lot , i want him in next worlds
Uhmmm... at this moment, I don't mind anymore if SKT wins again. Because their players truly create a top notch team every worlds.
You’re making it sound like it’s the same roster every year
Here after the Worlds 2021 draw where SKT and EDG are back in the same bracket.
Good 'Ol Days.
yo Zirene we miss u from worlds groups. Will you be casting/be on desk again? Maybe in the finals? keke
whos rewatching this on 2022 ? after T1 made another Historical record 18-0 split :)
T1 2021 Let’s go
Naisuuu

Neil Patrick Quilonio NAISUUUU
Neil Patrick Quilonio is what Koreans say "nice" any league of legends fan should know that
Starting to really enjoy this series.
You could also do a breakdown on the fight at the bottom lane between FNC and IMT game 3 of day 5.
07:56 as much as I was excited to see SKT win..it was also incredibly heartbreaking to see Mouse with that face. It's got to be extremely painful for them :/
longzhou against gam comeback
IKR
i gotchu: zilean pressed ult on the wrong target 2 teamfights in a row
Sho Zenkawa GAM should still feel pretty good even tho since they're still rookies.Im sure they'll take this experience and come back next worlds better
Trey J gam just didn’t know when to push and how to utilize objective like baron. lz had to do barely nothing special
I feel like the reason GAM did so well was all the other teams were used to fighting against META picks, like how a boxer first struggles against a south paw, but once the rythem hits....no more advantage- ex) fanatics comeback against GAM
gives me goosebumps everytime
This is... beauty in its purest form.
i ligit watched every possible video of this game and that combo man i still am sweating every time i watch it...
Hoping for a breakdown of Longzhu's comeback against GAM's massive lead yesterday. That 5 for 0 teamfight was spectacularly executed.
dexms4 tweet it to him and get other people to do it and he might
one thing i realized about korean teams competing in international events like worlds and msi, is that they have a *slow* early game. because they focus on getting essential items needed (depending on their team comp and their enemy's team comp) and getting objectives as much as they could in mid going to the late game.
this game made me realize that skt is one step ahead of edg, knowing that they could comeback in this game if they prioritize baron. wolf placed a control ward and a sightstone ward near baron to have vision control. while edg's objective is to push bot lane, go to baron and push mid for the win. so skt only have one objective while edg has three objectives to accomplish. and i think skt planned a baron bait on edg knowing that they have no wards around baron and edg thought that skt is already in the baron pit...
*and the dream wombo combo just happened.*
Yaaahh..Kkokma is a truly genius coach..the composition is so creative
Well. That's how the GODS play! :P
I love these Videos, really high quality content!
Literally 300 IQ
SKT-T1 yooo you did this!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG, was soo cool!
I wonder who ultimately decide on this play during a intense game. The one who shotcall this play is just amazing.
to be clear, this still depended on Bang's Twitch and Faker's Ori getting core items. they were down 10k since quite a while ago, and without the items, they wouldn't have had enough damage to finish them off. but the deliberate patience to wait until just before baron spawned was a true sign of genius and shotcalling.
Everytime someone ask me what a wombo is I always go back to this 👆🖤
In my opinion, EDG had some misleading intuition there. They were sticking closely together against a team with several aoe engage abilities (Flag and Drag + Cataclysm, The Quickness + Grand Entrance, Ambush + Venom Cask). While this is a very good default setting in the late game, this draft looks like an exception to me. Of course I say this with hindsight, but it really struck me how closely clumped they were in the ~10s before the engage, while they had limited vision and no specific need to clump. Most importantly, Janna should have stood further back to ensure security to anyone being engaged while staying safe herself.
Nils Petras except would u expect a team to instantly engage on u when u begin putting pressure on midlane when they are expectedly moving around baron? One mistake and split second decisions gave this one to skt and lost it for edg
All the edg blame is retrospective and silly imo. You don't expect a team that behind in gold and base in shambles to engage on you when u are 5 man strong. Most teams only go for engages with number advantage at that stage.
You dont know what will happen in game.
I mean... EDG doesnt expect SKT to engage at 25 mins with 10k gold deficit. Usually at that position, you ate on the defensive.
Don't hate on him too much. I'm sure he knows whatever we say now is in hindsight.
I think EDG did make a slight mistake in grouping up but also kudos to SKT in planning and punishing them so efficiently.
SKT always finds a way to comeback every year lol
I really appreciate these breakdown videos, they are very clear and detailed, very suitable for beginners, can you please do more? Can you please do more breakdowns on this week group stage? Really appreciated, Great work!!
can u break down the Levi's Nocturne lvl 6 at 5 minutes while everyone was still lvl 3, 4?
What is there to breakdown? power farming the jg with 2 people? lol
This series is about situational understanding and decision making.
2019 still watching :)
Pls do a "What Fnatic changed to go from 0:3 to a spot in the Quaterfinals" next
A very impressive analysis. Great work!
I think we're forgetting Scout facechecking 1v5 near SKT's raptors. Before that EDG were slowly recovering their lead iirc
Calculated af
Oct 2021 now. This is the best comeback
this was so smart
I don't mean to sound negative or put you tilt here. But if u and ur team of 5 think like that every game. Newly form team of LOL can reach challenger togetherLove your breakdown of that fight. U earn a subscriber. And ur voice fit the explanation. Wide shot and images. Arrows and rewind help out explaining alot
WOOOO! Been waiting for this video Zirene! Gj.
Oh this come back, it can change your beliefs
Skt are so good knowing what to sacrifice
What to fight for
And exactly when
Huni chogath is so under appreciated
Now tell me how can you hate faker and skt?? When they played this comeback so perfectly
Notice that. If the adc was not Xayah. Its literally a 5-man knock up and Shockwave!!!.
I love it when what i see is actually what SKT executed. everyone can think like The Korean teams, we just aren't trying. The comment I am leaving I made yesterday after reviewing the play:
After reviwing the Play, it's Meiko's fault they lost.
Question, how did he have time to heal and not ult?
Answer: he misstepped and cost EDG the game. if he had ulted instead of popping heal, they woulds have lost 1 or 2 members MAYBE... honestly, they could have won that fight. They were fed, and everyone was healthy. if he popped Ult the second Wolf flashed, it would not only have pushed EVERYONE back and out of range, but ALSO applied Ardent Censor to the whole team. giving them the self healing AND attack speed to counter.
instead he got chain CC'ed til his death along side his teammates. He should learn Janna more if he wants to go pro or whatever
EDIT: A unit that is charmed will move toward the source for the duration, during which time they cannot control their own movement or attacks, and cannot cast abilities, activate items or use the summoner spells Flash and Teleport.
With that in mind, i still think he had a spilt second to pop Monsoon when he saw wolf's flash. Rakan has been around long enough for Sups to know when an engage is coming, especially at World's lvl.
AU K meiko didn't even used heal. He was CC'd to death. Charmed knocked up and silence.
look at the actual replay. between Wolf's charm & airborne, he popped heal. i've been trying to see how this was possible if he was chain CCed but it happened. Maybe you can heal but not flash or R ? or Meiko just truely f'd up. but all heals were used
Edit: A unit that is charmed will move toward the source for the duration, during which time they cannot control their own movement or attacks, and cannot cast abilities, activate items or use the summoner spells Flash and Teleport.
all he could do was pop Heal but he, with his team, underestimated the best team of all time... bad move
Hope you can do the comeback on Longzhu against GAM from yesterday's game
Bahar Nero you have to tweet it to him, along with many other people. If you can get a ton of people to do it that would help but I'm not sure if it was good enough as the comeback was later in the game rather than skt's and they also had a chance to buy as well as other factors.
MORE Breakdown PLEASE
SKT's comeback is way better compared to LZ's. SKT's was well orchestrated and was really planned (with the points i never thought of discussed in this breakdown). LZ's gameplan was just to stall out the game and get to 6 items since GAM's team composition is not for straightforward 5v5 teamfights but a quick pick composition to kill the carry utilizing the Rengar + Galio + ZIlean combo which in the late game, became ineffective due to itemization. also, individual mistake from GAM contributed to LZ's win - Zilean's ult for example in the last teamfights.
GAM could've won the game if they were able to kill Gragas in the top side jungle as he was establishing vision since Gragas plays a big role in defending the carries of LZ and disrupting GAM's engage and teamfighting as shown in the base defense of LZ where he was able to ult 4 GAM members out of position.
props to LZ's great adaptation on how to take on teamfights. Khan's utilization of Jarvan's ult to isolate the damage dealers of GAM is what won them the late teamfights and eventually the game.
John Elisha Jensen Hirro also that fact the team fights they did were later in the game
its still gives me goosebump
Now Gotta Wait For Longzhu Breakdown Against GIGABYTE Marines
naisuuuu
This is one of the best moments in league ever!
they say SKT victories are boring...
*Think again*
maybe we can see this kind of play again
Amazing as always
This why skt going to be the world champion 2017 again? U guys know it right ?
I dunno man, LZ look much stronger than ROX and SSG last year. Going to be an intense match.
Yeah I can't wait
what actually happended: "Guys, go defend bottom tower! Oh no! Our nexus turret's falling, Faker go defend!. Engage at mid! Yey, we win."
what bronzies think happened *
Julius Walch I think he was just joking lol
@Julius Walch r/wooosh
A comeback like this please!!! we need skt back!!
