Who went on to have an affair with Doctor Hilary Jones in the 90s I thing it was. I remember seeing the story all over the papers. Quite Shocking to see from a well respected man who was married already 😳
@@A-small-amount-of-peas The 70s. I was in my 20s then and aware of the developments of sound technology. Even then someone with the voice of a church-mouse could give the likes of Pavarotti a run for his money. But, the results sold and sadly, that is all the music industry is interested in.
I know....but if you'd just seen the newsflash intro, and then it skipped back to the ads, I bet you'd have been banging your head against the wall wanting to know what it was !
Is it me, or do old adverts seem more gentle and straight to the point than modern-day ones now? There was also a lot more variety too. Now we are just bombarded with insurance, banking and hard-sell big business.
If I didn't know the first one was real, I wouldn't believe it. It looks like some kind of SNL parody.
Shame Kristen Wiig, Kate Mackinnon or Cecily Strong never saw this as I think they could have done it justice
the guy in the fabric softener ad was in aliens
3:58 the lovely Josephine Buchan 🥰

Looks like Rose Marie's production company bought a chunk of advertising that year.
I wonder how her sales that year was?
I remember all of these - thanks so much for uploading! Its strange to look at all the women advertising cleaning products. Glad that's changed ;)
We had recessions in the 70's, 80's & 90's so I don't see that having less money affects the variety of ad's nowadays.
Meet and say farewell to Rose-Marie.
Never knew that she was STILL going on in the late 1980s...
+Evonne Okafor And still going by all accounts. Fifteen platinum albums and still popular.
Evonne Okafor, Rose Marie did a lot of panel shows (ie - Punchlines, Blankety Blank) in the 80s.
@@PhilJonesIIII must have blanked her out of my head as irrelevant as a child as I genuinely don't remember her and her pub singer at best voice

I can't believe they broke in with a newsflash about Edwina Currie resigning. Not exactly earth-shattering news.

Its Frost from Aliens in that Bounce ad.
I miss the RP voiceovers on adverts!
Also the Ringmaster of the Psychic Circus.

Is the woman in the sore throat advert ok? Obviously, apart from the sore throat... It's like she's speaking another language!!😂
Sounds Welsh
It's not Danny John Jules... The guy on the right is Ricco Ross, notable from 'Aliens' as Private Frost.
Isn't that David Warner narrating the "Ariel Automatic" ad ?
Is the woman in the sore throat ad the same actress who voiced the mother in "WILL CWAC-CWAC" ?
This would be from 20th of December 1988. If they where all recorded on the same day as the news bulletin
Never thought about it until I read your comment, but I think your right. There is less variety of adverts now.
Is that Francesca Annis in the Camay ad?
Oh rose Marie ffs
Does anybody have the Sweetener advert with the three witches please?
